Drew's offerings are varied enough that someone with dietary restrictions have no issues finding items on the menu. Dining on a Wednesday night means 1/2 price on wine, which is always a nice treat. Last night was my second time at Drew's and I am sure I will be back anytime I need to be at the Annoyance Theater a block or so away.
What a perfect spot for brunch w friends! The light on a sunny corner, warm service, fast and Delicious food. I’ve never had a bad meal here...and brunch was no acceptation. Mimosa special to boot! A lovely Sunday funday here w the girls and boys!
Staff need to attend to customers and not gather at end of the bar.
Drew’s is a favorite of ours. The food is consistently good, nicely presented and varied. The value is quite good. The staff is consistent and checks in with guests frequently.
very good food, nice staff, good area, a little small building but otherwise amazing
I have wanted to dine at Drews for years, friends always choose a different place each time.
Took my best friend to dinner Friday nite. His steak was good. My Special Pork tenderloin was dry-over cooked.
Our waiter did not look like he put much effort into his appearance nor his demeanor -the other waiter in that section treated his guests like guests in a home. Our waiter never told us his name, kept trying to take food away and the restaurant was not busy.
I am in Chicago once a month and I wish I could say I would come back-not with this experience.
Food is always excellent as is the service and their willingness to accommodate a gluten allergy. Drew is the best!!! Very welcoming and a wonderful host.
The service, food, and cocktails were all excellent. The restaurant is in the “Boy’s Town” section of Lakeview and close to the Red Line. Our group of 4 were completely satisfied and would highly recommended.
We always look forward to a wonderful dining experience when we visit Chicago!
Just an excellent brunch!
We had brunch at Drew’s on Easter Sunday, before we went to an afternoon Cubs game. The food was delicious, the location was perfect (we walked to the field), and the ambience was great. I would definitely recommend!
We had a great time! We were headed to a show and the service was awesome and timely. The food was spectacular!!
I told the waiter I can't have gluten when I ordered the veggie burger. He said he checked with the kitchen and told me it was fine, but it was not. I actually have celiacs disease, and was sick that night.
Maybe the staff needs to be educated regarding what foods are not safe for celiacs diners ?
Waiter wasn’t the friendliest until he brought the bill and expected a tip.
First time at this restaurant. Great House Bloody Mary. Pineapple Mimosa was very good. My Tex-Mex omelet was kind of "meh" at the first bite but got better. I would order it again. My dining partner would get the breakfast burrito again as well.
It was nice that the music was at reasonable/quiet level. Loud music has never been something that I find acceptable when eating in restaurants, at home or in friend's homes. Regardless, the room was pretty loud. There was a large group at one table and when combined with the tin ceilings, made the room noisy.
Regardless, we will be back. Good food at reasonable prices.
Great spot for a fun brunch with friends. Always enjoy a good mimosa special!
Excellent drinks, Delicious food, Great ambiance, Wonderful wait staff. I'm blessed to have such a wonderful restaurant in my neighborhood!
This was for my boyfriend’s birthday and the food and service was AMAZING! We enjoyed everything so much, the only downside I would say was it was a little cold next to the window. Not really their fault, and we didn’t ask to move, or if the heat could be turned in, so it was totally fine and was really super minor downside.
One of us had the hanger steak - which was phenomenal!
The other had the crab cakes which had a delayed kick of spice and overall were just ok.
Ruby martini was fantastic.
Maitre’D asked me about my ethnic last name, by the time he walked us to our table he felt it was necessary to shame me about my ethnic last name and for not speaking the language or remember where in ‘our’ country I had been. What started out as an engaging banter ended with me not not being able to get him to shut up fast enough.
Steak was lack luster. Felt rushed to make a decision on my dinner choice. Was hoping for something special but it was just meh.
Lovely meal. We enjoyed it and will be back.
the only thing was that it was cold everytime someone opened the front door and i specifically asked the host if it would get cold due to where we were sitting and he assured us it wouldn't, but it was very cold whenever the front door(s) were opened. other than that, it was excellent, great food, great service, great atmosphere!
Was looking for something convenient before going to Blue Man & Drew's exceeded that by miles. The fact they have parking till 12 for $5 added to it. We went there thinking casual along the lines og burgers, etc & left full after some fresh swordfish cooked perfectly & a moth watering hanger steak. Portions were filling & bread pudding desert was plenty to share. After the show we went back for some drinks. Drew's been there 20+ yrs & one can see why. We'll go there regardless of show nearby as there were several other dishes that looked good. Well Done Drew !!
Lovely evening, great service and very good food and drink choices. A little pricey but worth it. If you're celebrating something special it's the place to be. The once a month cabaret was an added treat. We'll be back.
The Mediterranean Salmon has a wonderful combination of flavors. The decor provides an atmosphere of comfortable elegance. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Love this place!
Drews offers a great menu of delicious food. We can always count on them for a great dinner and cocktail.
Small appetizer portions, slow service, entrees lacked flavor.
I’m always impressed how delicious the ribs are. I also decided to try some dessert this time and got creme brûlée which was also really good. The servers are always really friendly and overall I had a great dining experience.
We were dinning with friends from Milwaukee and they enjoyed the restaurant from top to bottom. In particular the tasty cocktails.
Loved the casual yet elegance of this place! The food was very good, everyone had something different and no-one was disappointed out of 5 of us! I was so happy with the grilled veggies and the crab cakes were the best I've ever had! Will be returning!
I had a wonderful time here with my 3 daughters. All three will be married this spring. April May and June, so a weekend get a way trip to Chicago was planned. We read about Drew's and decided that it would be a convenient place to go after the Blue Man Group. We found much more than convenience. The food was terrific and arrived promptly. Everything was tasty and fresh. The salmon was made to perfection and exactly how I ordered it. The server was pleasant and conversational and went out of her way to make our experience here enjoyable. We had a drink called "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!" Appropriate for the occasion. I highly recommend Drew's. I would eat here again if I lived in the Chicago area.
Starting off, we were seated directly in the kitchen doorway even though the restaurant had many open tables. It was a nice booth, but the kitchen noise is never the best for ambiance. Our server was lovely. Really lighthearted and fun, he came over enough to be helpful but he did not hover or come by too much. Which can be annoying. Honestly he saves this review. The menu was changed for the holiday (which is fine) but there were no links to the new menu on the website so when we had decided things we wanted to eat (the reason we chose this restaurant) they did not exist upon arrival. Not fine. Our meal was good. Not exceptional. But good. The kitchen messed up one of the orders but the server noticed as it was leaving the kitchen before it made it to the table. Unfortunately the vegetables were very subpar. Lastly and worst of all, we ordered crème brûlée.
When our dessert came out my husband and I each excitedly took and bite and each instantly choked it back up into our water glass. (Not exactly a nice moment for date night) The dessert was made entirely of SALT instead of sugar. When we told the staff, they LAUGHED it off and said “oh yes the salt is located next to the sugar. WHAT?!! Does this happen often?? I still have sores on my tongue from a he amount of salt in that one bite, it was staggering and quite frankly alarming that they did not seem to care at all. We were comped the $8 for the crème brûlée... which is literally the LEAST they could do. Slow clap for laughing at us and doing the bare minimum.
Definitely not an ideal restaurant if you’re trying to have a date, or interact with another human without regurgitating into your water glass. Go to another restaurant. (Hopefully our server moves to a new restaurant soon!!)
We had a very special Valentine’s Night dinner. My steak was tender and delicious. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Salmon! The bread pudding dessert was to die for!!
My husband and I enjoyed dinner her on Valentine's day. The service was excellent. The cocktail was inventive and quite tasty, The butternut squash ravioli was a flavorful appetizer. The pork tenderloin was delicious, the roasted vegetables were fresh and crisp. Hubby enjoyed his pasta. They had an appropriate choice of wines by the glass to accompany my dinner.
If they seat you in the back by the bathroom door, ask to be moved....everytime someone went through this door it slammed so hard it shook the wall. Told the waiter about it, he attempted to quiet the door, but only slightly. Other than this issue, dinner was fine, food quality is good.
Service team needs to be sensitive to vocalists while singers are on. Buss station area and dropping of plates too loud...as we patrons are seated right there.
Less harsh lighting for stage/window area would be an improvement. Glaring on guests and bouncing off windows back to interior.
Really enjoy the menu selection. Love the VEG burgers!
The grilled calamari was burnt . The chicken was so dry I could not even eat it. They also had a loud show that I was hoping to avoid and for some reason nobody could tell me when it was supposed to start. The place itself looks nice but there is no way I would go back.
Several Wednesdays per month you can enjoy Cabaret-style entertainment served up by a number of well-known or up-and-coming singers along with your food and drinks. The service is above and beyond pleasant, efficient, attentive and accommodating. Bartender mixes up generous cocktails and the menu has an extensive variety of Appetizers, Entres and more. NO COVER!
It was my second time here. This time I came by myself to dine at the bar. I have not stop telling people how delicious the duck confit risotto is!! Everything was great though! The salad was ever so slightly over dressed but the dressing was so good I didnt mind. Love the Parmesan fries and the steak was cooked perfectly. Cannot wait to come back!
Excellent on all levels!
