Amazingly, for this price range, the portions were decidedly small! My Pork Belly with Scallops had 3 small scallops and three smallish pieces of pork belly and that was basically it for $39. They were delicious, but the dish was overpriced - more a starter portion!!

We had an incredible experience at Drift! We ordered the halibut and the pappardelle as our mains and were not disappointed at all. The food was incredibly prepared and exactly as described on the menu. Our waitress Lexi was incredibly knowledgeable about Halifax and all aspects of the menu. We highly recommend this to anyone staying at the Muir hotel, and other downtown locations.

Overpriced tough steak. It was recommended by our great server to go with the 3 oz more tender steak 20 dollar extra. We were disappointed in the 20 oz for 50. We feel when paying 50 for a steak we should receive better quality.

We had a lovely meal at Drift last evening. The service was really fantastic, as was the food. Two small things prevented it from being fully amazing - we were seated for a romantic meal next to screaming children (which the parents couldn't help, I realize) and the seat coverings on the booth we were seated in were very dirty, stained and worn. Perhaps they could use a cleaning or a refresh soon. Otherwise, the meal itself was lovely. The interior of the restaurant is loud, but not as loud as others in the area.

I was not present, having booked this meal and purchased a gift voucher as a Diamond Wedding present for my parents who are on vacation in Nova Scotia from Scotland. I received messages and photographs from my parents who enjoyed their evening at Drift very much. The team at Drift went the extra mile to take care of my parents and to make the occasion special.

I have no idea how this isn't the highest rated restaurant in Halifax. The food and cocktails are exquisite, accessible, and true to their Nova Scotian roots. It's an experience that is just somehow more than the sum of its parts, and the details are absolutely delightful. I go here every time we have guests from our of town and it's a perennial hit.

Server was great, low key funny and read the table perfectly. Brought a colleague during their visit from Toronto and server was accommodating, made great recommendations based on conversations that were quick, effective and meaningful. Thank you for the great service and great food. Amazing job to the chef that designed the menu and good to see and taste current staff are keeping up with my menu expectations after Jamie left! Cheers to the Drift Staff. I was impressed yet again as a local and other that it was their first time at Drift felt the same.

Beautiful experience. Amazing food! Our handsome waiter Nathan was so considerate... When we arrived my friend was in tears about an abusive ex she was talking about on our walk to the restaurant. Nathan noticed, walked away quickly and brought her a glass of champagne. Throughout our meal he was kind, patient and made us laugh a little. Classy place.I'll be back with my family next year for our vacation.

Service took fairly long, 20 minutes min. Between drinks, then apps, then main. Desert was fairly quick. Overall, food was above average, chicken pie was on the dry side, other main dish was a bit underseasoned. Apps were great. Ambience was lovely, but only thing that was a bit dissappinting is the hotel lobby and elevators can be seen on the far right side of the place so you're constantly exchanging looks with hotel guests if you're seated close to there.

Service was exceptional! The chicken was dried out and somewhat disappointing. My wife did enjoy her salmon entree. Our appetizers were good but not spectacular. Desert was very good. We did visit once before for brunch and did enjoy very much.

Was a special trip to Halifax for our anniversary. Stayed at the Muir and made reservations for this restaurant. Was honestly one of the best meals we had in our entire lives. Will be back!! Highly recommend!!

The room is incredibly noisy. My steak came out cold. The compound butter on top of the meat was solid. Didn’t melt a bit. Tell tale sign. I sent it back(I wasn’t charged for it and that was unnecessary as I did consume the new steak when it arrived. Those aren’t traditional “frites”. They are fries. My wife’s halibut was over cooked, mash was pasty, over worked. The saving grace on the night was our server… she was gracious, hospitable, professional, not overly familiar, attentive. Wine good, Quail’s Gate Pinot Noir. Someone was careful enough to put it in an ice bath to get it to right temp for serving before it hit the table. Blomidon Tidal Bay 8oz glass $23? Gouging. Licensees pay @$20 for that bottle. Last but not least, the font size on all printed menus is ridiculous. You should be handing out magnifying glasses! Even a 20 yr old with perfect vision would be challenged. We’ve given you three tries. We won’t be back.

Food was fantastic as usual. There are a couple of new items on the breakfast menu. Cheesy grits has a real comfort food vibe. The bacon jam and poached egg included within the cheese grits make it. I haven't tried the continental breakfast but it seemed to be popular. The place was quite busy by 10 so I would recommend making reservations. The outside seating looks great
