   Food was very expensive and poor quality. We ordered a garden salad to share and they brought out a salad to share but charged us for two salads. The salad had low variety of vegetables, little texture or flavours and was filled with chopped onions (too strong). The meals even beef tenderloin are served with fries and my partner's halibut was not fully cooked. Our apple crisp dessert was also not fully cooked - both the apples and oatmeal crisp were uncooked. I would not go back given it was a $250 meal for two.

   This is a gem of a place to eat! The flavours were dancing in my mouth with just the bread and olives. We were both so impressed with our meals and we are usually steakhouse people. We will be back. Our server was awesome and had the nicest lipstick Color. Someone was always checking up on us. The view was so East Coast Highly recommend

    First experienced the Drift over a year ago at the tail end of the pandemic. Food and service then was excellent. Same yesterday evening, but the vibe was too energetic for a comfortable dinner. Not the Drift’s fault, but be warned, way too loud. Some would like that - me not so much!

    We requested a highchair with our reservation to their Mother’s Day brunch. Didn’t hear anything about it, assumed it was covered, but upon arriving found out that their one highchair was in “use,” except in looking around, there was clearly no highchair. My 1.5 year old son stood by my chair while we “waited” for 30 min for the highchair that clearly wasn’t going to arrive. Only when the waitress came to get our order after 30 min did we stress that we couldn’t order anything until we had a seat for our baby who is too short and young to sit comfortably in a normal dining chair. At that point their manager came out and explained they would go to another one of their nearby restaurants to bring one, which they eventually did. But as anyone with kids knows, by this point my son was starving and on the verge of a meltdown. Shortly after we ordered it was clear he was overtired from waiting and hangry, and wasn’t going to make it through the meal. So I had to wait 20 min for anyone to come to our table (which wasn’t until our food was being brought out) to ask for our bill and for our food to be packed up. So overall, my Mother’s Day brunch at Drift involved having my son wait without a seat and eating cold eggs at home. I’m fine with restaurants not accommodating children, it would just be great if they had let us know ahead of time that they did not have a highchair — I would have cancelled, slept in and enjoyed warm breakfast without a tantrum.

    Once seated, we waited over 20 minutes for any waitress to acknowledge our table. No water or anything. Once we ordered we then got our water and was never refilled until we asked at the end of our meal. The only thing that saved the experience was that the food was good.

    We had a fabulous dinner. Nathan our server was incredibly attentive and the steps of service were superior. First time in Halifax and they made our stay extra special. Can’t wait to visit them again soon

    Better food than last few times we were there. Celeriac Schnitzel was wonderful, as was the Chicken Rappie pie. Had so much food, we took half of it home. Service is always amazing!

    The service was efficient and friendly and the food was delicious - we had the Cod au gratin and the Halibut - both cooked to perfection! The Lobster and shrimp cake with chow chow was also delicious and the warm brown bread is a great starter. Only regret, we were too stuffed to try dessert.

    The restaurant itself is very nice. Dimly lit tables made it hard to read the menu. The server only came to put a lamp at our table 15 minutes after trying to squint at the menu. The food itself was a bit of a let down. Beef tartare was good, not enough chips to go with the amount of tartare. The cut of steak I had was chewy, and very fatty. The prices are outrageous for what the food actually is.

    A celebratory dinner for three was a disappointment. The atmosphere of Drift was wonderful, and our server Riley was excellent. This was the third dining experience at Drift, the other times were for lunch. Our reservation was for 6:30 as we had another commitment for 8pm. The lamb was ordered as an entre by each of the party of three, it came barely warm and was very tough, we then realized that was why we were given steak knives. Two refused the meal, the other toughed it out. We then ordered the tenderloin (at a higher price) which was wonderful. There was no concession on our bill for the terrible lamb and because of the wait for the second entre offering, we missed our other engagement. We will not return to this restaurant.

    Excellent designed restaurant. Ambience is amazing with very nice illumination and high level furniture. Had various starters, mains and desserts. We started with drinks at the table. I had my best Whisky Sour ever! The bartender did some fantastic drinks. Waiters were pretty young people with limited experience. It made some of the ordering a bit clunky, but everybody received what had been ordered. The food , when served looks amaing. The taste and combinations were not living up to exepctations. Nothing was bad. It just did not live upto the price point charged. I had breakfast, lunch and Dinner in the restaurant during my stay. Food was ok, but there are just better restaurants aroubd compared with DRIFT. PS: $8 for bread - it was amaing but really?

    Service, food quality and presentation were excellent. It's a nice venue, not overcrowded and well staffed. They were accomodating of young children and our server made my grandaughter feel welcome. The only issue was the noise level. Even with few tables occupied when we arrived the sound level was significant and increased as the evening want on. However, that was the only negative aspect in what was a very enjoyable evening.
