Amazing good, great service. Makes a worthwhile date night.
A great location! The service was exceptional. From the valet to the waitress to the nice lady at the front desk to the super attentive bus boy, they could not have been nicer. The food! The food was exceptional. Our party of 4 had different meals and they were all delicious! We will definitely be back!
Special anniversary dinner. Our server, Nick C, couldn’t have done a better job. He helped to make our meal such a pleasurable experience. The food was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the duo band that plays there on Wed nights. They even take requests:)
Went for burger night and it did not disappoint at all. Great time, live music and our server Michael was terrific. Of course we had the bacon to start, a definite staple when visiting a DB restaurant. Half of us had the amazing cheeseburgers and the other half had the HUGE chicken sandwich (they all ended up taking half home)…for $7. Can’t beat it. Always a great experience at Drifthouse.
Beyond disappointed in the service which ruined what should have been a lovely night!!!! We've eaten at the Red Horse and had an exceptional experience ... from food to service. Tonight we expected similar at another David Burke restaurant. Boy were we wrong. To be clear - the food was very good... from the bacon ap to the entrees. But we didn't even stay for dessert because - at 2 hours in - our waitress couldn't be found and we were asking other waiters for drinks, to fix our wobbling table, for water etc. In fact, at one point we saw her, waved her down and asked for some bread. She said " I can bring you more" to which we replied " we never got ANY"!!! Topping off the service debacle ( after having her take away our plates by stacking them on top of one another like a cheap diner) we paid the $159 and change for 2 people and were give $40 change. It's obviously not about the pennies she shorted us, but how dare you round up in favor OF THE RESTAURANT!!!!!! The nerve!!! Other tables seemed to have more attentive servers, so maybe we were just unlucky ... perhaps avoid the window seat overlooking the pool area if you choose to visit
The bad: Never got our bread rolls even though everyone around us was getting it. We were already into the appetizers before we realized it. That was weird. Waitress was wandering around, had to keep asking to get water to the table. The food came and it was great. Then we ordered dessert and coffee. The desert came, then the check. Never got the coffee. Asked the waitress for it, she brought it, but the coffee was cold and burnt. Would have expected them to comp the coffee, but nope full bill. I took it off the gratuity. Not going there again. They weren’t even busy.
The good: Food was delicious. Too bad the service spoiled.
The food was awful. The dry eggplant was not just dry. It was bland, dry, dry, dry and tasteless.
The steak was.....steak.
The mussels reportedly average.
The chocolate cake in a tin seemed to be out of a mix one would buy for their kid.
All in all, save your money
The food was wonderful!
Sunday Oysters and Lobster, if you like either one you have got to visit the Drifthouse on Sundays. On top of that, they wave corkage fee if you want to bring your own bottle. Food was outstanding. We had oysters, lobster rolls and lobster mac and cheese. It was delicious and a great value!
Pre-xmas meal with friends. Super waiter (Michael?) - attentive and thoughtful. Great food and ambience. Some of our party tried the prix-fixé Italian special menu (I had a taster of the mussels in fennel/sambuca in cream sauce - wow!) and others of us had à la carte. All delicious. Nice selection of cocktails and wine, too. We’ll be back.
From the minute we arrived we had a bad feeling. Our party of four was seated so close to another table it was uncomfortable. When asked if we could move we were told “we are only using part of the dinning room”. The service that followed was pretty bad. From no utensils when the food arrived to our bottle of wine being brought out 3/4 way through our meal. We definitely expected more!
We were there for our son’s 30th b-day and was disappointed. I know there is a shortage of good help in restaurants lately but this was not good. May go to sit at bar for drinks and apps but not for dinner. Had the fillet mignon ($44) and came slightly cool with absolutely no seasoning. My wife’s was the same. Got a nice side dish of Brussel Sprouts (very good) but the Angry Broccoli, which was about a half of cup of broccoli (nothing) and was the same $10 cost as the sprouts. Not worth it.
Sorry. Was hoping for (a lot) better. Especially for the price. Very expensive for the over-all value.
Went for happy hour ordered manhattans. The girls couldn’t make it. Kept shaking very cocktail even after we asked for them to be stirred. Ordered Negronis and of course she started shaking. Told her to stop and the male bartender finally rescued her (us) and made a proper drink.
Dinner was good! Service was lack luster. The server did not know how to present the wine bottle we ordered. Shabby training especially for a Burke restaurant. It was my wife’s birthday but not even a “happy birthday “ greeting. But she was very eager to give us the check even as we were still having wine. Chef get your staff trained.
Food was fantastic, we went on the sushi special night and you can tell that all the fish used in the sushi is fresh and of very high quality. The rainbow roll was one that we ordered but were not sure if we would enjoy because usually at other places the rainbow roll is mediocre at best but here it was so delicious, it was our favorite roll. Another roll that really surprised us was the yellowtail roll because that was the most fresh tasting buttery smooth yellowtail we have ever had in any roll. Service was excellent as usual, very attentive, very helpful and ready to answer any and all questions. The value is always good because the food is just so great, but during these special nights like the one we went to where you get half off are an absolute steal.
Burger night was fantastic. Yes burgers on an English muffin can be high end! Who knew? Amazing. The clothesline bacon was incredible along with the hippie fries. So nice and quiet not crowded too. Overlooking the ocean and pool at the Sea Bright beach club- like vacation every day! Great service. Live music was a nice touch!
Meal was delicious (Lobster night special), service thoughtful, a perfect experience--as always. David Burke restaurants never disappoint.
Burger Night. We've been a few times on other occasions and twice for the Lobster Night - pretty good and fun. But Burger Night was a not so good. Burger was thin, and served on a cold English muffin - totally unexpected; did not enjoy at all. We've seen the burgers there before (served to others) and they seems big, juicy and with a legitimate roll. Why be so cheap on "Burger Night"? Ordered the bacon app, like usual - but this time it had no taste except for the sweetness (no smoke at all). Also, although server and mgr were attentive, neither of them knew what beer they served me. They didn't have the Delirium draft I ordered, so gave me another. Both came to our table at different times and told me two different things. Served me another beer twice and couldn't be sure what it was. The bill said Delirium and then they said it was Twin Lights. OK. But they bill should have reflected the lower price beer! Oy vey. Bill came to $100 - totally expected - but not worth the visit. Won't go back.
Limited menu and overpriced. Only 1 special and it was spicy pasta with shrimp & calamari - what's special about those two ingredients?
We have been here before and enjoyed the food and service but this time we were disappointed. We had an early reservation and on open table it said for a party of 4 we could only be there for 2 hours...no problem. Our waitress was very nice. Drinks and appetizers came right away. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for our main course. Three times we were told that it was plated and ready. We watched other tables come after us and get their food and then finally it came and was barely warm...at this point we were hungry and ate it. I'm sure it would have been exceptional at the right temperature. We were not offered any compensation at first till we pressed and the manager took off 25%. We were not sure why there was such poor communication between chef, kitchen and wait staff on our food delay. Hopefully, this was just a one time hiccup but we did spend a lot of money for such a poor experience.
Our server was great. The food was outstanding, with complete attention to detail. We want to come back for Christmas Dinner. Thank you.
Staff was amazing music was great and food was phenomenal
Have dined here regularly since it opened. Unfortunately for the better part of this year Drifthouse was off and we haven't gone as much. Menu became limited not cohesive, dishes that we loved were taken away & put on Redhorse's menu (we love Redhorse) and the overall quality of cooking declined, it was like the place was going down hill. However, we went last night & it was great! Menu was thoughtful with many options & our meals were absolutely delicious! Bartenders remain constantly wonderful. Drifthouse is back on track.
Unfortunately we did not experience the best service. We were not informed about the specials. After ordering, we heard another table being told the specials, which was the only way we learned of them. One of us ordered the branzino and it came out smelling extremely fishy to everyone at the table. The person took one bite and it also tasted fishy so we had to send it back. Our server did not apologize at all and no one else came to apologize either. A replacement meal did come quickly which was very good. At the end of our meal we ordered cappuccinos that came out luke warm. We were really excited to try something new and heard good things about the restaurant, so we were just disappointed with what happened.
I had the clams casino over tagliatelle. The clams were awful. Chewy and they felt like they hadn't been scrubbed.
Our server was very good.
My only issue is that their website doesn't update. We got their twice to find out that their menu and specials were not available due to "Restaurant Week". Very disappointing, They should say do on their web if there are changes.
Other than that all good.
The food was very good, and obviously a good value (for Restaurant Week); nice opportunity to check out a new place. Two negative comments: the wait staff was overwhelmed, and it took almost 1/2 hour just to get the check; and the plates were all cold, which meant our hot meals cooled off too quickly.
That said, everything seemed fresh and was tasty.
Went for Jersey Shore Restaurant Week but will be coming back during other times. The food was beautifully presented, the portions were large and the overall flavor of the dishes were spot on. I would heartily recommend Drifthouse to family & friends it was truly one of the best eating experiences I have had. KUDOS!
Great restaurant. Great food.
Can't wait to return. Peter was our server & he was phenomenal. Perfect
We visited for Jersey Shore Restaurant Week. We have eaten there before so we knew we were in for a treat. The meal was excellent as well as service. Our only disappointment was that we were seated in front of the live music snd while they were very talented, it was so loud my family was unable to talk. No need to have live music there, in our opinion.
It has a good vibe. The singer was very good. I had mussels which weren't very good, tasted old, and I order mussels frequently. The branzino was good, but I didn't like what was under it but my friend liked his. The pumpkin mousse was great! The employees were all very friendly, but in the weeds. I'd go again, because I think this was just an off night. I've been to other David Burke restaurants and have loved their food.
I order the surf and turf the steak was cold and stringy. The lobster tail was so tough I couldn’t cut it with my knife.
My husband had the short rib and pasta
It was very very salty.
The food was just okay. Good but not really worth the money.
Wonderful! The solo guitar player made the delicious dinner very enjoyable!
Food was excellent, good value for cost (it was restaurant week). Place was not crowded but service was extremely slow-had to flag down a waiter to place our drink order. It was very noisy-a duo was playing guitar and drums very loudly-couldn't hold a conversation.
Great time!!! Excellent food!!!
While this restaurant has lovely ocean and bay views, our hostess would not accommodate our request to sit near a window when there were several open tables stating that section was closed. Instead she placed us between 2 other tables with less than 2 ft of spacing. To add insult to injury,, midway through the meal they started to seat other customers near the windows.
Given the limited Restaurant week menu, it seemed like everything was precooked and reheated. Also the entrees came out at the same time as the appetizers.
Food was well prepared and the staff was pleasant and courteous. However, the restaurant felt understaffed. Overall, very good.
Food and service was outstanding, one of the finest dining experiences we have experienced we have had in the last couple of years. Creative combinations, prepared and presented beautifully.
It was a great restaurant and we will be back!
