Food was good, service was good. Would recommend it to others and would return again!
Service was amazing! We had two kids and our waitress, Paulina, was kind and brought crayons for them to draw on the table. We had friends who were in town from NYC, and Paulina spoke both French and English to us. Food was delicious!! Ambiance was beautiful! Merci!
Excellent desserts as always and wonderful (nonalcoholic) cocktails. Plus they now use metal straws.
We picked this restuarant because it was close to a METRO line and had table availability (which was tough in some places in Montreal). We were delighted with the menu and then we had the mushroom soup. It was the BEST mushroom soup we have ever had and we travel a lot and eat a lot of really good food. This was astonishing! We could have stopped there but then our entrees came and they were very good, the waitress was so sweet and attentive! We had a surprising and wonderful last night in Montreal thanks to Duc de Lorraine. If we had found it early in the week, we would have come back for more soup, to try some other entrees and left room for their lovely looking desserts which we were too full to try!
Excellent experience, as always.
Exceptional food at a Montreal landmark. Pastry is superb and the sandwiches and breakfast dishes are all to perfection.
A true taste of France in one of North America’s “ French” inspired cities
Vraiment trop cher versus la qualité. 31$ pour un macaroni au poulet et fromage fait avec du cheddar orange! 10$ pour une Corona!
Wonderful service. Food was excellent. Owner was super friendly and in top of the service. Highly recommend
The staff was very welcoming but the prices overall were very high for what we ordered. A little lemonade was $8 and a little iced tea was $8 which was very expensive and these drinks were suggested by the waitress but we didn’t seem to locate these items on the menu at first glance. Portions are very small and I noticed that the table next to us ordered the sand French toast as I did and I seemed to have the ends of the brioche bread which made it a very small portion. I had two takeout two croissants as I was still hungry. Unfortunately as much I know that this restaurant has a big history in Montreal, I will not go back but happy I tried it.
I do recommend this Restaurant all the time, love the desserts ambiance
The kitchen and staff were overwhelmed - one person at our table never got their order and our orders were missing portions described in the menu
I have been there on many occasions and really liked it. This time, they no so great. The cheese/meat platter was very small for two people. Two meats in a very small qty and two cheeses only. I ask to get old cheddar cheese to complement the plate but they had none! I understand that pastry is your thing but no cheddar cheese in a shop that sells cheese... I was offered goat cheese instead which I accepted. It took 20 minutes to get the cheese and the restaurant was 1/3 full. It cost me $200 with a $50 bottle of wine. Pretty expensive for a couple of cold cuts and a small amount of cheese. As I said previously, I have been there many times and the cheese/meat plate was much larger and had more choices and the service was much better. Maybe this was a one time thing but I cannot foresee going back to see if that is the case.
What a great find! Right of Hop On/Off stop #7. Fabulous Poutine and Smoked salmon on a baguette. Lemon Tart and Prosecco-Heaven! Service perfect, pastry shop to-die-for! Merci Beaucoup! ❤
Breakfast menu is cool. Served with flair.
Service is great. Ambience cool with the Oratory in the background. Price is decent.
If food doesn’t fill you up, then, the bakery has many delights to die for.
Had a reservation it took 45 minutes to be seated ! Once seated we were told that it was busy and the food will be another 45 minutes.
A little too long and the food was just ok
We went on Mother's Day and I understand it's a busy day, but we were waiting 45 minutes to be seat down at the table and then we had to wait one hour and a half for the food. The waiters were all confused about what food what's going to which table and also our bill was wrong when we were ready to pay... a total mess...:(
Excellent service, nourriture et ambiance familiale pour la fête des Mères. Bravo à l’équipe.
Je suis un peu étonnée que cet endroit très français utilise un site de réservation en anglais.
A wonderful brunch experience, as always.
Very good french bakery. The brunch was delicious and the deserts are to die for!
We like going there. Food is reliably good and service is friendly. Noise level a bit too high .
Definitely a place to go. Amazing service with good food in a very fresh style. I just LOVED.
Thank you Lari for your wonderful review!
Coats were offered to hang for us, water always topped up, the waiters were very attentive to us!
And the food spoke for itself.
Parfait pour une discussion d'affaire, repas léger disponible, clarté des lieux, service attentif.
Great place. Good view of st Jospeh’s oratory if you sit in the back by the window.
Duc de Lorraine is the definition of a Parisian French restaurant only it's in Montreal. The ambiance is just like being in Paris. The French Onion Soup is the best I have found in North America. The Quiche is light and flavorful. The desserts are artistic and worth saving room for. I bring regularly bring visitors from the USA and they have never been anything less than amazed.
The outside patio had a very New York-ish feel to it, scenery was everything you expected out of a brunch during spring time.
The food was excellent, I had the européen...great choice if you’re an eggs Benedict fan.
Staff was super friendly
All in all great place to have a nice get together/date
11/10 would recommend
Excellent service malgré le fait que c’était très occupé en raison de la fête des mères. Une petite erreur - ma liqueur a été mise sur la facture de quleq’un d’autre, mineur comme incident.
Excellent service and food!
We sat outside on a nice day. It was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and service was topnotch. I left with a box of French pastries. The best in Montreal. Highly recommended.
Perfect date night thanks too your server RObert and the crew very helpfull the only down fall was we were the last ones to leave in a hood way.Its such a comfort too go to a place that we are treated like people and not a number bravo too your staff and the food
Good food, decent prices. The obnoxious French attitude is included in the price.
Good ambiance good atmosphere... great food and great view. Staff are friendly.
I used to frequent this restaurant before it expanded and loved having a coffee and pastry there. The setting is beautiful with all the light coming in and view of the oratory.
However, the food was extremely disappointing and way overpriced. I ordered an avocado sandwich on croissant and could barely find the avocado. The portion was surprisingly small with a price tag of $14. My friends enjoyed their meals more, but did not feel it was worth the hefty price. I don't know of any other restos in Montreal that charge $19 for a croque Madame. We do not intend to go back.
I just love this place! It's been 25 years since I last visited Montreal and this was on the top of my places to eat... it surpassed my memories.. We went three times during our brief stay! Staff was lovely too!
to cold Inside...everybody with jacket...service is good, but check the bill !!
The ambience (outside/inside) was nice and the service was great.
Greatest array of beautiful pastries. The best mille feuille/Napoleon. Great friendly, attentive servers. Super coffee. Our favourite when we visit Montreal
The environmental is nice and the noise is low, this is a good to talk with a friend or family.
The portion size of the breakfast is ridiculously tiny. The omelette can't have more than 1.2 eggs in it and comes with two small pieces of toast and a couple of berries. It's not a meal, it's an overpriced snack.
