My nephew and his wife were in town and we needed a dog friendly place to catch up. Duke’s was perfect. Five thumbs up and three tail wags!

Server was very nice and food came quickly. We did have some unfortunate things happen during our dinner. The server tilted the plate with my food causing the sauce to pour all over my husbands shirts, pants, chair and the floor and on my pants. Also, he ordered a vegan burger patty and was send a real meat burger. Also he asked for the farro to be left off his tofu bowl and all they gave him was tofu and onions with no brown rice and quinoa. They did give his bowl for free for spilling on him and gave a $20 gift card but honestly we probably won’t be back.

Great spot to hang out with friends and family on a low key patio. Sadly, like so many restaurants, they’re under staffed now that students have returned to school. Our poor server was running her tail off and was pretty stressed. She shared that the kitchen was also under staffed. The thin hamburger patty was way overcooked, rice on the tuna bowl was dry and we weren’t asked spice level on the other bowl and it was very spicy. It’s sad to see servers treated so poorly and some patrons were not kind.

A beautiful late summer evening so I called shortly before our 7PM indoor reservation for 4 and learned we could switch to the Patio. Rocket, our 14 year old Jack Russell terrier was also happy as he could now come with us. Quite crowded, but service was prompt and courteous. We were pleased to see how vegan friendly the menu was even though the four of us are only sometime vegetarians. (However we do have a Vegan son who lives back East mostly and visits not infrequently so we were hopeful this could be a future dining resource.) Enough said about the printed menu and the weather. As for the food. We ordered buffalo cauliflower and tamales to split as starters. Two diners ordered tofu bowls, one the house vegetarian black bean burger and Fries and I a Rueben sandwich. Half through our beers and cocktails out came the main courses--- we protested what about our starters? The mains were taken back and shortly after our starters came out. We enjoyed them both and no complaints. The starter dishes were taken away and the mains reappeared. And I truly think they reappeared. My Rueben was amongst the worst ever. There was the taste of corned beef mingled in with a melt of glop between two pieces of marbled rye bread. Swiss(?) cheese, sauerkraut and Russian dressing a homogenized thick and tasteless emulsion. The fries $1 surcharge (why not just charge a dollar more, as who want's free coleslaw when a main ingredient in a sandwich is sauerkraut)? The black bean burger half consumed, but the optional $1 soggy fries all downed. One tofu bowls completely downed,the other partially shared with the dog who will eat tofu if there's nothing better. My first impression was that our original mains were reheated and returned after the serving mistake was corrected. Alternately, the dishes might have been prepared in bulk and microwaved before being served. Lest I mention, the second beer served to my 59 year old son was not ordered but appreciated.

We made a reservation to sit outside on the covered patio, to celebrate a birthday. When we arrived, we were told that there was no room on the covered patio. We were shown a small table that was very close to another party and decided to sit at the bar instead. Service was okay, food was good. Just kind of a disappointment when trying to celebrate a birthday

It was our first time at Dukes.. It was extremely busy and yet they kept seating people usually with an apology that it was busy and would take longer than usual. It was clear that the staff was overwhelmed It was a disappointment. Sorry.

I had the walleye fish and chips. For the price, I was disappointed. It was the oiliest food I’ve had placed in front of me in a long time. The fish was very heavily battered. Had to cut through it all and discard it to eat the fish which tasted a bit bland. Even the fries were greasier than usual.
