Earls Kitchen + Bar - Fir Street - Vancouver
Quite busy during Happy Hour and so it was very noisy and hard to have a conversation. Food was good but our prawns quite salty. Service was very good and fast.
Fun night, great service and food was delicious..!
We had a great time at Earls in Vancouver. The food was delicious and well presented. Our server was polite, welcoming and efficient. She was very attentive to the special needs of one of our party. Would recommend Earls to all.
The Kitchen appears to have an issue with being able to serve hot food ordered as hot .. our fries and Cauliflower bites were warm and margerita pizza was almost on the cold side .. service and ambiance of the place is excellent ... on an aside , I noticed a client at the table next to us return her Salmon as also cold
I would go for brunch happy hour. Check out the the menu.
Feeling good. Satisfied. Will go again.
Pizza = burnt
Cheesecake = ice
Food = below average, nothing special
Service = below average
Haven’t been for a while. Our server was great, food on point and tasty. We were comfy in our booth.
Will try happy hour as well. Really good vibe but with a varied crowd (all diff ages) so nice to see.
Great service, beer & ribs as always, unfortunately the Spinach & Cheese Dip that I’d raved to my friends about was not what I remembered from the last time I ordered it. I know there was one cheese, it was on top but the rest seemed to be just spinach “blend”? Cracker type chips were the accompaniment the last time, bread this time, it was too much “bread”. Just won’t order it again, the rest of the menu is very good, awesome place for friends,fun & food!
Always good food at Earls. Best Cajun chicken out there.
Lighting was fine
Noise level lower would be nice as we were with my in laws. And they were paying the bill!
We have always had good food and a good time at Earls whose service and food is consistently excellent. On New Years Eve we were very disappointed with our night out.
I haven’t been to your location for at least 8 - 10 years in that l had chosen your restaurant for my birthday dinner with my family - my son’s meal and my meal were overcooked and partially burnt - we were assured the cook would be able to make it again (as we were going to order something else) - the manager came back and told us there was a problem with our meals again and would we like to order something else - of course the rest of my family had finished their meals - I thought you could have at least given the dessert my family ordered for me free - actually my daughter-in-law had been to cactus club and because some of their food got to them cold the restaurant didn’t charge their whole table - so seriously your restaurant couldn’t even give me a dessert at no charge. I only came to your location again because it was convenient for an out of town friend- I had a much better experience this time although your ahi tuna poke bowl was not as good as the North Vancouver or Burnaby locations
Great restaurant. One of my favourites. But since they no longer use wine bottles, their Chardonnay is never cold enough. I’m sure they set the keg to the right temperature, but once it gets put in a craff and carried to the table it has warmed up. I always tell them to cool it more- but they never do. It’s a shame so I only have 1 glass now. Where I used to order a bottle for my husband and I when we used to go. Foods great but wine is average in experience now.
The greeter was a little confused about finding our reservation and the request for certain seating.
Music was loud and we had to shout to be heard. Otherwise, everything was great. Terrific food, terrific service.
It’s my daughter’s birthday and we had two tables by each other. Service was good but it’s a bit noisy.
Earl's is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is always excellent and service good. We had our management Christmas luncheon there for the first time this year and everyone was very happy with their meals.
I am glad that we can reserve tables at Earl's on line. My friends & I, who meet once a month, enjoy the relaxed & casual atmosphere at Earl's. Food & service is always great.
Normally we enjoy all our meals at Earls but it was Wing Wednesday so my husband ordered them because he likes them but they did not taste fresh and they forgot the fries
Christmas Lunch for our company’s Management Team at Earls was a cold experience. We were seated in the outdoor patio area. We all kept our coats on but by the time we left we were chilled to the bone. Spoke to a staff member about the lack of heat and was informed there were no heaters in the outdoor enclosed area so there was nothing they could do about it.
I had a delightful experience inside the main dining area of Earls the previous week whereas this experience was a real disappointment.
My message to Earls is this: Put your customers first. Don’t book the patio in the winter.
they were busy but the service shouldn’t fall to the level that we experienced. no less than 4 people graced our table, water was served after being seated 14 minutes, food dropped on table and left alone, no introductions until halfway after the meal was eaten. i guess if you were paying mcdonald’s pricing, that would be ok, but this was decidedly more expensive. i’ve certainly had better experiences in the past. food was tasty though.
My family and I took my 93 year old mom for her birthday. It was a lively atmosphere and the food was delicious. The best part was our server Johnny. He was delightful, I even made a point of speaking to the manager as I thought his service was outstanding. I'd recommend an evening here for any event. I made reservations on line and that too was super convenient.
Nice relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff, great food, decent prices. I would definitely go again with friends or family. Went during Happy Hour, the menu was pretty decent!
I would recommend Earl’s for the consistency of its food.
This experience was really lacking though. They knew we had an infant as part of our reservation but still sat us on the covered patio where it was very drafty. When we asked to be moved the server declined and said the only other tables were reserved even though we were also a reservation.
The service was not good from beginning to end. Everything took a long time, from the first hello to every drink and menu item. The server forgot my beverage, then she forgot chopsticks for the dynamite rolls. We were all sharing but we had to ask her for side plates. She wasn’t on her game that day but the food tasted good otherwise.
I went to celebrate my birthday with my young kids. We told our server that but the dessert we ordered (and paid for) came out without a candle. My kids were very upset. She ended up finding one and then asked us to clear up our tab as soon as she lit the candle because her shift was over. Not the best service I ever had. Food wasn’t as good as usual either. Hardly any dressing in salad, chicken fingers very hard (maybe cooked a little too long) and my soup bowl was honestly 1/3 full.
The hostess had a very poor attitude from the moment we arrived. We arrived before 11 am so the restaurant was almost completely empty and she seated us at a table near the solarium with a draft. We asked if we could move and she said our only choice was a table at the very back of the dining room. We did take that table, but considering we had a reservation and the restaurant was empty, she could have asked us where we would like to sit and not make us feel unwanted. The server was very friendly and attentive. The food arrived cold for all 3 of us, thankfully the tea was hot. One of us sent the food back and the second plate arrived slightly warmer. It seemed like just because it was brunch happy hour, they didn't care about the quality of the dishes, which is unusual at Earl's. I expected better from a restaurant I have frequented for years and generally has great food.
Second time there in the last 3 months and service was bad. 4 of us ordered appetizers to share but they forgot to bring side plates. We asked again but gave up waiting... We used napkins instead of plates. Entrees took a long time to arrive. Waitress was never around to order more drinks... Steak was ordered medium rare but arrive well done... it was bad.
Fantastic lunch, many thanks!!
I will go back again but we were not pleased with the size of your salads compared to what they used to be. Definitely did not enjoy your Caesar Salad mix
Our waiter was very friendly and fairly attentive. I found it expensive for what we had - chicken and ribs, risotto and scallops a 6 oz. glass of wine (70.00). Portions are small but okay if very small eaters or not very hungry. I won’t be hurrying back any time soon.
It’s a newly renovated Earl’s which is beautifully done. We love this new design and it’s comfy booths. The food is as good as any other Earl’s. The service was above expectations. We have never had such excellent service in Vancouver before ! We went for brunch on a Sunday noon. Our server was Jessica who makes sure we are taken care of in every way even when the restaurant was pretty busy. The guy in blue suit served our coffee with big smiles :). It will be my top 1 or 2 Earl’s to go to! ☺️
Everything about our lunch there was great! Food, service and ambience all so good. Definitely will go back!
Restaurant was busy. Packed in fact. Perhaps the kitchen was feeling it too as we waited a long time for our food. I’m afraid food was not up to par. Scallops were overcooked, and the chicken in the salad was dry. The sticky toffee chocolate cake was not up to scratch either. It has always been our favorite and we would fight for the last bite, but this time it was left unfinished. Earl’s has always been our reliable go-to but this time it missed the mark. Disappointed.
Love coming here, and almost without exception, it is a great experience like it was today. Cold beer, hot, delicious food and attentive service. A great neighbourhood spot...
I ordered the new roasted cauliflower and kale salad. When it arrived at the table the presentation was very poor....it was colourless. I found one small piece of kale in my salad....it was mostly pale coloured Romaine lettuce that did not look very fresh. The cauliflower were in large pieces and were so crunchy that it was hard to imagine they were roasted at all. Overall, pretty tasteless.
We had a server who was so slow. We got our appys before our drinks. Actually we had to ask 2 x for the server who hardly came so then the
Manager assisted us who was just as useless
WILL NEVER GO BACK OR RECOMMEND
Learn from Richmond earls they are amazing
Pleasant place for reunion with longtime friend: service friendly but unobtrusive; restaurant did observe my request for as quiet a table as possible, so we could easily talk. Food was tasty, lobster appetizer not generous but delicious. Friend happy with choices for (mostly) keto diet.
Always great, beautiful reno, Service was perfect!
Enjoyed the lunch. Fresh salads are always good! Prices for salads are over priced but the menu is good. Your parking is a real bonus, please don’t ever change it. Lily Merritt Staff is congenial!
