Earls Kitchen + Bar - King Street
Monday-Friday: 11:30am - 5:00pm
Daily: 5:00pm - 2:00am
Great find in Downtown Toronto - still good value for money in classy surroundings... Fish Tacos were best I had in looong time!!!
This was the worst Earl’s experience i’ve had. I’ve been a fan of Earl’s and have been actively going there in Vancouver. It was the first time in Toronto and we had made a reservation for August 11, 10:30 pm. We reached Earls but was not sure where the entrance was from and entered through a side entrance to search the reception. A bartender suddenly shouted at us asking to close the door. I wasn’t clear at first and asked him excuse me, and he again second time came and said the same in such a rude way. I was surprised and angry at the same time. I walked off from there and then entered through the main entrance. The service later from the waiter and the food was amazing but the first impression when we entered just spoiled the mood and night, all because of this bartender. I did complain about this to the manager and also went straight to the bartender to tell him to take Customer Service and Experience more seriously. That is no way to behave to a guest and i think that’s the last time i’ll visit Earls or recommend anyone to go when in Toronto. Highly recommend to hire good and respectful bartenders in the organization who know the basics of treating a guest.
Hope this kind of behaviour is not encouraged at such a good restaurant where people come to have a nice time and not get rude and unprofessional behaviour.
We go there once in a while and we love the place. Great service and food.
Food was excellent and our server Eric was outstanding. Did get a little noisy and with people talking I think they started to turn the music up so was hard to hear each other.
The whole vibe of the restaurant is amazing. Service incredible, food was insane. The steaks were cooked to perfection. We had a brilliant night, would definitely recommend.
Great Food and Service!
Server was apologetic when something I asked for wasn't available.
I'd be interested in a slightly expanded weekend brunch menu.
It was our first time eating here and we had a great experience!
We enjoyed the food very much, particularly the variety of menu which accomodated our diverse group. Service was incredibly slow and inefficient. Appetizers arrived (no charge) after we had been sitting for a full hour. We had booked on line as an anniversary occasion and there was no recognition of this. Overall a disappointing experience despite the good food.
Service with our server was fantastic. Hostesses were the worst . Restaurant was empty and they cancelled our 4:15pm reservation for being 15 minutes late. Yet they did not pick up the 3 calls we made. The two of them were so rude we debated leaving but asked for a patio seat after they tried to put us in an empty room at a high top. Terribly rude thank goodness the server made up for it
Food was very tasty; especially the chicken and ribs entree.
Awesome food, great patio. Love the place.
Dinner before concert.
Great food and awesome service. Very friendly staff.
Very enjoyable. Great service. Loved the atmosphere. Food was very good as well.
Friendly staff and generous portions!
Had a surprise Birthday Party for my fiancée and it went perfectly. The staff was very welcoming, helpful and kind. We were attended to quickly and they made our party feel like a priority. Would throw another Birthday hear for sure. Thank you everyone at Earls who made our night a great one!
Great food and service - we wine not too expensive - would go back here again
Blackened chicken and salmon dishes are both way too salty. Drinks are expensive and taste watered down. Seating on benches is too far from table, making it difficult to get comfortable.
We met with friends at Earl's for pre-theatre dinner. The location was perfect. The food was good. We certainly didn't go away hungry. The atmosphere was good. Love the décor. The server was wonderful.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friend's home.
Would recommend Earl's to anyone who is in the area.
Went to try the happy hour brunch and was not disappointed. The portions were super generous and the $5 mimosas and caesars?! We sat on the patio and it started to drizzle, but the retractable roof/awning closed within a minute and then they opened it back up as soon as the rain had passed. Lovely experience overall!
Amazing staff and food. Great vegan options!!!
Good food great staff and an excellent location in the financial district.
Beautiful restaurant and great decor
The service was great and my reservation was received on time
The A/C was off and it was very hot in the restaurant
The restaurant closes early and empties out at 11pm which is a shame since it’s such a cool spot (the patio was the only thing open)
Food was good - but wasn’t amazing
Artichoke dip/spicy tuna rolls/ chilli chicken appetizers were all great
Kung Pao chicken bowl was not spicy at all (I got 5/6 spice level) and it was just meh
The beef bimbibam was mediocre
The jerk chicken my friend got looked good
Overall nice restaurant and cool vibe
Good for a group with reservations or if you land a spot on the patio
The food and service was great. The only thing reducing my rating for ambience was that the crowd was very loud. I usually don't mind that but their noise level was unusually loud. There were 2 birthdays and a bachelorette dinner going on and I had to speak very loud for my girlfriend to hear me. Other guests seemed equally annoyed. I'm not sure if it was bad luck or if it's the kind of crowd they usually attract. Despite that I'd definitely go back and take my chances with the crowd.
I made a reservation for 6 people this past Saturday for 5pm. They called me to confirm the reservation 45 minutes prior, which I said we were on our way. Due to traffic, I was about 10 minutes late and I called three times to try and advise and nobody answered. When I arrived, the hostess greeted me, I apologized for being late and she said it's absolutely no problem and started walking our party to the section we were supposed to be in. Upon arrival to that section, she paused, stood there for a few brief moments and looked around. She then said that the table we were supposed to be at was taken and she wasn't sure why (might I add there were several tables in that area that could accommodate us but we weren't allowed to have them). She left us waiting in the middle of the dining room for over 5 minutes, hovered over other people during their meal - remember there were 6 of us- came back apologized and said it wouldn't be much longer. After another five minutes, none of us could believe what was going on and I started walking back to the front to find out- she brushed me off and said that I would have to come back to the front and wait. She said she wasn't sure how long, but at least another 10 minutes. (by this point it was after 5:30). Another hostess finally came to us, took us to the bar area and apologized for the wait by saying my reservation got mixed up with another party of 6 with similar names............ I won't say my name, but it is not easily mixed up. The six of us were put in a booth crammed together, it's a good thing we're good friends. After we got the bill we were waiting to pay and the waitress was standing there chatting to a table nearby, and when she finally finished she came over and said 'sorry about the wait.... I'm just so chatty, I need to learn to control that'.
All in all, the food was great but the service and treatment was HORRIBLE, I won't be going back again.
Enjoyed our evening with a few friends, big table and good food.
We had a very nice dinner. We had a reservation and because of traffic were about a half hour late. Staff were very accommodating and got us seated quickly.
Waitress was not attentive enough but was friendly and pleasant. Definitely loud in here so having a conversation is challenging if you are a bit hard of hearing (like I am). Food was great.
We made a reservation ahead of time which is highly-recommended for a lunch. The patio experience is outstanding with great music and wonderful seating. The clam chowder was delicious and the salmon rico bowl was fabulous! Make your reservation for 11:30 a.m. to enjoy lunch and dessert before a matinee at 1:30 p.m. enjoy!
Perfect patio day. Wish I could have stayed longer.
Good food. Before going to a concert. Worthwhile experience
Excellent meal, excellent service! I had guests from out of town with me and they raves about the meal and service. Thank you
Too loud music, it was hard to talk to my friends. But the food was great and overall really happy
Our waitress was so lovely... she did not intimidate us to order drinks and made us feel welcome
She was very busy but very efficient. You could have more staff .
Acoustics could be better... very noisy
We went to Earl’s before the Royal Alex show. The food was fine but nothing to get excited about. I doubt I would go back because there are so many restaurants to choose from in the area.
Service was good
Great outdoor space
Good location when going to the theatre
The service was very attentive and genuine. The menu has so much choice that it would be difficult for even the pickiest person not to find something yummy to eat. Chose to take clients here for a business dinner. It can be a little on the loud side, so it might not work for all business meetings.
Great location for getting together with friends. 1/2 price bottles of wind on Tuesdays is good value with a good selection of nice wines.
Food and service were excellent. Thanks for the comped birthday desserts! The patio was lovely for an early dinner.
