We came for the Sunday brunch for their happy hour. We were waiting for our food for almost 30 minutes, what in my opinion is TOO long for the regular brunch items especially when we didn’t order any other food/drink items. The server didn’t even say anything to us (no apologies) as it was how it had to be. After she brought our food she just disappeared. Overall, the service is poor but the value (only 8$ for all brunch food items) is great.
Enjoyed a great meal at Earl's on a Sunday evening. The food was delicious. The only downside was service was incredibly slow, despite it not being overly busy.
I love this place! The service is awesome, food is tasty (BBQ ribs <3), ambience, music, illumination, one of the best places in Vancouver!
Lauren H the server
Very disappointing meal I’m afraid. We were a party of seven - five of the seven dishes came out luke warm at best. Calamari was cold and bland, fries came out cold as did the chicken bites. Server was accommodating and polite but only checked in on us once after the meals were served. Three of us had a fountain drink and were not offered any refill. Wings were on point for those who ordered them. Vegan burger was well received. Unfortunately I can’t say we would be wanting to return anytime soon.
Great brunch value!! Friends and I had a good time here, food was fast and sooo yummy!!
We booked a table for 4 for my sister’s Birthday on the terrace outside (we choose birthday special occasion while booking) . When we arrived the waitress wanted to put us inside so we said that we booked a table outside. We were just kind of upset because we expected something nice from the restaurant for my sister’s Birthday but they didn’t do anything.
We enjoyed our dinner so much that we returned the following night. Enough said!
Had a delicious brunch here and the wait staff were fantastic, the food incredibly delicious and cheap (brunch happy hour!). Tip: Get the cold brew coffee with Bailey's. Omg so good!
A dirty and noisy restaurant with average food. There are a lot of better options in this area.
Amazing happy hour brunch deals! My eggs were poached hard instead of medium, and my husband’s potatoes were burnt, but they were promptly remade when informed.
Excellent food and ambience but what made our experience exceptional was the wonderful staff at Earl's on Top. The service was friendly and efficient, questions were answered and recommendations made (at our request) effortlessly and with warmth and enthusiasm. It was a delightful afternoon and return visits are definitely in our future!
Had dinner with family while on vacation. Everything fine
Great place to meet for dinner and drinks
Service was very slow.
We went to Earls for Valentine's Day and we were not disappointed. It was romantic and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The manager went out of his way to get us a table we wanted in the dining area. The waiter was also very nice. Friendly but not overbearing. We always come back for the ribs and cajun chicken combo. Your dishes are great. I also love the quinoa and avocado power bowl. Thank-you for a wonderful dining experience.
The food and service were excellent. We dined at 5 pm on Sunday night hoping to have a reasonably quiet dinner and conversation. The Olympics were on and volume of music was up to max. The noise was deafening. We gave up on conversation with my 12 year old granddaughter. Presume it's not always like this but who knows.....disappointed.
Perfect as always! It never disappoints! This time we had Kamilla as our server and she was exceptional! The steak had exactly the cook level we ordered and it was delicious!
Service was great, food was great. Casual environment. I had the Steak and Sushi dish and the steak was perfectly cooked. The roll was excellent. Very tasty. Great selection of draught beer.
Didn't appreciate how loud the music was. Could barely talk to the people near me. The food and service were awesome, would definitely go back.
Best crispy calamari I ever had! The Caramel and Chocolate brownie with ice cream desert was also amazing! Would come back just for those!
Will definitely be back in the future.
Always the best food and service. We choose here any time to stay over in city
We specifically chose this resteraunt to celebrate a birthday as the menu listed on open table had several gluten free options, none of which were available at the restaurant. The service was slow at best. The wine took over 15 min to arrive and the server never refilled our glasses. The rare steak was cooked medium.
Good service and vibrant atmosphere. My Cajun salmon was too salty but the Spanish gin/tonic drink was delish and refreshing.
Pretty busy place during lunch hour. Our server wad pretty swamped when we got there but otherwise good food.
Great happy hour deals, really worth the money. Delicious cocktails.
VERY noisy. Asked being changed to another table in a quieter zone and told me it was reserved; left 2 hours later and that table was never occupied.
Great happy hour menu!
Upon arrival, they said we didn't have a reso (I showed them my confirmation on the Open Table app.) - therefor I didn't get an Open Table credit.
Extremely over priced. Charged extra for sauce/gravy for my over cooked steak. Green beans were undercooked and had no flavour.
I recieved a dry Alfredo pasta. When I ordered extra sauce I was given cold Alfredo sauce in a dipping cup. The waitress was great, service was great otherwise and she kindly removed the meal from our bill.
I made resos for a birthday dinner on the patio. I was the first seated and wanted to order a drink but I did not receive a drink menu. Nor did anyone stop come by for 10 minutes. Took more delay to take orders when the rest of the party arrived. Starter delivered by someone from the kitchen who dropped the plate on the table and left. No napkins, plates or cutlery. Took a while to get that too. The birthday boy and his girlfriend ordered the Black Angus steaks – top priced items on the menu. When they arrived they had been blackened with blackening spice which neither of them ordered or wanted. The server thought they had ordered "blackening" when that wasn't even an option given. She was confused with the listed and ordered "Black" Angus. The manager came by and said they would replace the steaks but that it would take 20 more minutes after we had already been waiting quite a while to get our meals. The couple was starving and I was given my meal so they ate the potatoes and green beans while waiting for the steaks. When the steaks arrived I had to ask for at least a side of potatoes so they could have something to accompany them.
The special occasion meal was ruined. Not presented as a meal at all. Why didn't management make the replacement steaks a top priority? Their answer was there were other orders in the queue!
The manager gave us a dessert for our trouble. A $7 dessert hardly makes up for two botched $25 meals. To add insult to injury the bill included surchargers for the blackening spice that no one ordered or wanted! I had to pull the manager over again and he said he'd take care of it. I shared my disappointment that there was nothing done to reduce the price of the two ruined meals to which he answered "oh I thought you were happy with the dessert." He then took off the cost of both steak meals as well. This made me feel very awkward on top of the slow and poor service. A dismal experience.
Excellent food and service would highly recommend, great service, quite loud, lively and fun!!!
Unfortunately we had a large group and we had requested for a patio which we did not get (& only found out when we arrived at the restaurant) although it was confirmed on the reservation. After speaking with the hostess, the manager and the server, we received four different excuses from "we had to reserve it for an engagement party" "there's a corporate event there" "we don't allow the patio to be reserved" to "the engagement party group needed a bigger space". Our first server forgot a couple orders from our group (but our next server told us she rang it in but must have forgotten to bring the food to us -- this person in our group was super unhappy and thankfully our next server, Rylan, comp'd it and made it right) and the service changed in the middle of our stay, including the bartenders who missed some orders. However our next server, Rylan, really picked up the slack. We appreciated it. He did great and made sure to keep checking on our group who ordered lots of food and drinks. We appreciate how attentive he was to our group after the not so great start to our event and evening.
Happy hour at earl's is one of the best i've had. Combined with their daily drink specials, you're getting good value. The food selections are also better. You do get a smaller portion but happy hour is about sharing so in my opinion the portion is perfect. It was unfortunate that when I was there we sat next to a large group who were really rowdy which ruined the atmosphere a bit. But overall I would definitely be coming back.
This was a family get together with relatives from the UK that we haven't seen in 15 years. Lunch was great. Our server was attentive and patient with us being slow at ordering. A great afternoon!
Reliable service with great food.
Great service by our waiter. Very friendly. I lived the quinoa avocado power bowl with blackened chicken. Off the hook fresh. I'd go back just to order that again.
They made my birthday so special, I am beyond happy with my experience there. Their new manager was also so kind and so on top of everything. Food was outstanding. 10/10 experience!
