I got the shrimp omelette with a side of potatoes and greens for brunch. They also had a happy hour brunch that we didn't know about beforehand. Everything tasted really good! The potatoes especially were not your regular wedges, it was thinly sliced, layered and baked with butter and then cut into pieces - so good! Service was pretty good, servers were attentive and they let us sit for a longer without a feeling of being rushed out. Would go again for dinner!

So we’ve been going to earls for many years now, we haven’t been to the downtown Hornby location in years so we decided to go as we were in the downtown area. We’ve never really been disappointed in earls with the exception of this time. I have to say the food we ordered wasn’t good , the rice from the pressed sushi was like a block of tasteless mush! I won’t order the pressed sushi at earls again. The roast beef sliders had maybe an ounce of meat on each slider and was very bland. The poke bowl was just ok, the fettuccine Alfredo came out cold. The service was very lacking, not intuitive and hardly came to our table to ask how we’re doing. Anyway was all around a bad experience and hopefully it’s just not going downhill 🙏🏼

Very good but I was very surprised that a reputable Canadian restaurant would not have white vinegar to go with my fries. I was offered malt vinegar instead. NO!

Ireland who works at the front counter is a god send! I came in a few weeks ago after sufferings a major back injury and she helped with with the doors and get to my table!

The service we enjoyed was first rate. We shared the Poke Bowl and the SantaFe Chicken Salad. Both tasted ok but the presentation was sub-optimal. The lettuce in the salad could have been more varied and fresher. The Ahi tuna in the Poke Bowl was fresh and tasty, but there was too much mayonnaise in the rice. Also the presentation of the Poke Bowl could use some attention. It was just a mound of Sushi rice mixed with mayonnaise with the other ingredients piled around it.

We had reservations for 3 an hour and 15 minutes before our movie started around the corner on a Saturday night and we arrived 15 minutes early. They sat us around our reservation time, but we didn’t receive food until nearly an hour later after flagging our server down. We almost missed our movie and we didn’t order drinks, appetizers or dessert, and we didn’t order much that needed cooking more than five minutes. Our server apologized, but didn’t offer us anything for our long wait which I thought would’ve been up to the standards of Earl’s kitchen.
