Earls Kitchen + Bar - Test Kitchen - Vancouver
Prawn, mango and avocado, sriracha mayo, black sesame, maple unagi
We truly appreciated all the new protocols implemented and had a wonderful dinner out. Staff was enthusiastic and friendly. Thank you.
It was a very pleasant time with nice food. Thanks for reopening right after being allowed.
A friend and I meet here about once a month. the service and food are always great!!
Waitresses were unfriendly. I asked for an apple cider from the first waitress, she looked at me w/disgust and said "we dont sell that here" I was asking for a Lonetree I had bought at this location many times. Another waitress came to serve us, had no idea what happened to the first. The new one looked tired. We couldn't wait to finish our food and leave.
Historically Earls Kitchen had a sweet option for brunch, however they have removed all options and have simplified the menu so much I no longer wish to visit or recommend their brunch. If you and your guests want eggs though, its the place for you.
The food was certainly not original or test kitchen quality worthy.
Good food, speedy service. Quite loud though, it was tough hearing people at the other end of the table.
The server was inattentive - she had to be asked multiple times to take the order, bring water, glasses, etc.
My girlfriend and I were sharing a dish - we had to ask for extra side plates and utensils where Earls has been splitting dishes in the kitchen for years without us having to ask.
Towards the end of the meal, I had given the server the water carafe she never returned or asked if we wanted it refilled.
Had dinner here before Michael Bolton Show. Dinner was better than the show
Best happy hour in town :)! Great menu with lots of fun choices!
Great food and great service.
This was not our best experience at Earl's. We have enjoyed dining here many other times. This time we were originally seated in the bar which was so noisy we couldn't actually hear each other and so asked to be moved. We were and it was better. The service, unfortunately, was very spotty. We had to actively track down the server to order and then to pay.
My pasta dish was tasty but lukewarm. 2 others ordered tacos and both the corn and wheat tacos were overheated to the brittle stage. Not easy to eat.
Food was very expensive and the service took a bit too long during lunch.
We tried something new this time-the Korean BBQ Chicken feature.
Huge! Way too much food for lunch, and I don't want to take food back to the office afterwards.
Two people could easily share this.
The rice was very good, but the chicken, while nicely grilled, needed a lot more flavor.
The oyster mushroom "calamari" was dangerously good. And YAY VEGAN! If my bosses hadn't been there I might have hoovered it all up.
Louie who served us was absolutely amazing, great friendly service as always and Hugh standard of food and drinks.
Rude hostess. But fantastic servers and stuff otherwise.
I enjoyed the cold and service but the music was so loud that for a lunch business meeting it was not enjoyable and made it really difficult to hear and talk to each other. I would not recommend or return to Earl's for a business lunch because of that noise not would I recommend it.
Amazing place with sensational food and drinks.
Disappointing but only because had been hoping to get the dry ribs which I had been craving, only to find out it was no longer on the menu!!
Our waitress was great as she took the time to get to know us! Always a pleasure going to Earl's!
Our favourite Earl’s! The half-and-half chicken and ribs is the delectable here, and the mashed potatoes are extra buttery!
Terrible service from the hosts at the door and only ok service from the server. Food was ok but gave a cooked egg instead of poached that it said in the menu and could have used better vegetable selection for the avacado egg plate.
Delicious. Had to ask the waitress to wipe down our booth seats though since it was covered in sneaker footprints. Seats are uncomfortable with minimal support since they are too soft and We sank right down so the table seemed too high. Need to be replaced?!
My burger was so fresh and delicious. Yam fries were light and crisp.
Great menu. Fantastic food. Excellent service staff.
Proximity to nearby Tim Hortons a big plus
Unfortunately at this location the Dry Ribs on happy hour were taken off the menu which is one of the main reasons we wanted to come. Also quite noisy today. The other happy hour food was ok.
It was great
Parfait. Nourriture excellente et le cadre également
We took our kids (who love Earls) for dinner before seeing a show at the Orpheus for a special holiday event. We didn’t know this was a test kitchen Earls when we booked. None of their fav foods were on the menu and there was zero option provided to help accommodate for the missing food. Unfortunate experience at a restaurant we otherwise love
Service and food was fantastic as always. We were there for happy hour and was looking forward to some fraught beer on special but was told there was something wrong or the co2 was out. A little disappointing but otherwise good experience.
Everything was great! We were in a hurry and our server accommodated is very well! I can’t remember our servers name, she told us, I think it started with an M (I think the host said we were at table 22 in the dining room, 4 top reso @ 9pm) but she was great. Always a great experience at TK. The whisky sour was weird; there was no head on it.
Very good food. Some unique dishes and some old standbys. Fresh and tasty. Service was prompt but felt rushed st times. Like order and go please. There were other open tables so we were not holding up anyone. Happy hour is a good deal here but it is a ZOO. Reserve was for 5 30 and won't do that again. Even as place cleared from after work crowd, the noise level never dropped. Could not easily converse. Too bad as food is very good. Have been here at many different times and always same so must be design
We were in back dining area as well.
Our server was very nice and made my Retirement lunch with my Mom so enjoyable :). Tammy
A yearly xmas season meeting. We all had very varied meals, with diet restrictions and all, and were all very satisfied.
Arrived on time or before an seated promptly, then waited 30 minutes and no wait staff. Had to go to the check in desk to see if we could get service, all the while four walk-in guests seated near us had their drinks and food before we even had a waitress come to the table. the manager stood about 12 feet from us and never checked just talked to waitresses. once we did have a young lady come to serve us, and it was not her table to begin with the manager came by and said "I understand we had an issue with service"...we explained that we had excellent service in six other restaurants during our five day visit to Vancouver and all were exemplary, including one where we did not have reservations, namely the Cactus Club, the service there was exceptional. here at Earls we sat ignored for nearly 30 minutes. in the end the waitress tried to comp our drink and we declined. it is our habit to tip well and to be good customers and this is one of the first negative reviews we have ever given after traveling to all parts of the world. would we recommend this place with the current manager, not a chance.
this was the last restaurant we were able to visit on our trip this time and it will be the last we consider next time.
Our server was excellent! Friendly and attentive. The other half of our party showed up quite late, and she did not make us feel bad, nor did she rush us out the door - and this is the Christmas season! So, thank you for that! Food is always good and unique dishes are offered because it's a test kitchen.
I did order a dish from the main menu - and was told they were sold out. Disappointing since it was only 6 pm. However, my cajun chicken did not disappoint. Gorgeous restaurant, dark and low lit - a little too
dark to read the menu in our corner - but that is what the flashlight on you cell phone is for! I will certainly return - and order the Korean BBQ chicken dish next time. Well done!
Great happy hour spot. Good for our big group and very accommodating staff. Good value on happy hour food and drinks.
