Earls Kitchen + Bar - Square One
Food was meh. Service was meh. Server didn’t know how to uncork a bottle of wine. Not her fault. Terrible training. Overall not a good value. Earls is not what it used to be. Go to Joeys for a better dining experience for the same money.
Have always like Earls. Been there many times, and it's always delicious. Server was very good.
We went to enjoy a birthday dinner which turned out sour. Ordered 2 martinis and asked the waitress to make it Earl sized (thinking like other drinks it would be a double for $2-3 dollars more). We were in for a shock when the bill came. Our 2 martinis were $26.50 each!!!! Not only were we charged double the price for "Earl size", we were informed later by the manager that Earl size does not exist for our drinks, which our waitress did not inform us about. If that doesn't make it worst, our drinks were in fact single, not double! So we were forced to pay $26.50 for each single drink, which we were not informed about the price and that the Earl size option does not exist. When the issue was bought to the attention of the manager there was no resolution, instead we were told if we refuse to pay for the drinks he will call security and detain us! Instead of looking at the situation and seeing how his staff wronged us by not providing price hike and informing us that Earl size does not exist, we were forced to pay or be destined by security. We also checked the menu and there were no price for this drink. Totally arbitrary!!! Too bad good customer service does not exist. Any high end restaurant or any good restaurant would have looked at the issue, apologized and as a courtesy removed price of 1 drink or reduced the price of the drinks. Definitely lost a long time customer since the 90's when Earls started out west. Customer service is like common sense which Many people don't have!
Great experience! Attentive service. Scallop risotto outstanding. Rib and chicken succulent. Warm potato salad delicious. Many delicious options. Will have to return!
We found it very busy and noisy. Our table was in the aisle, where people going back and forth to the washroom. We would choose a weekday on our next visit! I had to wait a long time for my second drink!
Food and service was great. The latte was not a latte but rather regular coffee with some foamy milk. Certainly not worth the $4.50 paid. That was the only disappointment.
Service and food was great! Our table was ready when we arrived
Overall experience was great, had a wondeful time on the patio. Food ordered was perfect.
I had the Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl, which was amazing. Perfect weather for sitting out on the covered patio. The service was fast and friendly; overall a great experience.
I have been to other Earls locations and have enjoyed the meal and the ambiance. I would not visit the location at Square One again
Service was terrible. We were asked if we’d like side plates and we answered yes and then they were never delivered. Food mediocre.
We had an amazing time at Earls. The food and service were amazing. We only wish the music was a little lower so that we could hear our conversations. We had to yell at many points which gave us a headache.
Food was wonderful. Prices reasonable. Service was great.
We never got the name of our server.
Which kind of sucks because she went out of her way to buy candles for Erin’s birthday dessert.
Mimosas were slightly bitter, but that’s probably because of the freshly squeezed orange juice.
Overall, it was a good experience
We order a large soup and they brought us a small, and when they bought the large it was cold, fried was too salty.
Drink was great ✔
The food was good, but not good enough to justify the cost. It was a little on the loud side and the ambiance was okay. I was a little disappointed as I have been to the Earl's downtown Toronto and really enjoyed it. I live in Mississauga so I thought I would try the location in Square One, however, it was a disappointment, it's part of the mall and we were seating by the mall side window, this diminished the ambiance somewhat. I probably won't return, but I will go back to the downtown location as it's location and ambiance is superior.
Slow service. 20-30 mins to get a drink. Cheap drinks though! Cheapest in sauga
The waiter ( I forgot his name but he was so enchanting and friendly.) he knew our order without writing it down, he was patient as I was a hour late for dinner with my dad and gf. The food was awesome and of good value .
We were a party of 6 for Mothers Day at noon. We all had brunch items and e all enjoyed our meals. It was a bit noisy but given the day then that is to be expected. The service was really fantastic efficient and we never felt rushed. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very good restaurant! Drinks were good and chicken Cesar salad was very tasty, chicken was very tender
Amazing. Staff was great. Food was great. Drink specials were great!
Excellent food and service
Noisy place! Background music too loud. Don’t expect to be able to hold a conversation.
Food good, but one of our party of 4 had to wait an extra 10 minutes on their main. No sensible explanation given.
Earls has always been a favourite of mine. They have good food, great selections, but they're not TOO artisanal - which some places are doing to their detriment. They take great care to ensure your order is right, and if it's not, they go above and beyond to redo it to exact specs.
The food was great overall. The service could have been better but it was a saturday night so it was busy. We were not seated right away and we came 5 mins after our reservation.
Great place to eat, food is great , service was great, we enjoy dinner at earls every time we meet for a shopping day.
Seated promptly. Our waiter was busy, so manager took over for him until he was freed up. Seemless transition in service between the two. Execllent service. Good food. A bit noisy so sometimes hard to hear but otherwise excellent experience.
AWESOME SERVICE AND A KILLER SANTE FE INSPIRED SALAD. How can you make a salad so delicious? Wonderful resto inside SQAURE ONE MALL.
Our service was really slow. It took forever to get our steaks, and when they arrived they were too charred. We didn't bother to complain because it would have taken forever for them to get back to us anyway. We asked for steak sauce...they brought us a small container of steak sauce instead of the bottle, so we asked for another one. We never got the second order of steak sauce after telling 2 people. Our server could have been nicer. It was also quite loud in there, so we had to pretty much yell to have a conversation and be heard. I was pretty disappointed and would not recommend this restaurant. Service, food, and ambience could use lots of improvement.
The entire experience was wonderful as usual - only thing was we the food took longer than normal to come out, which delayed our 1pm meetings.
Good place to eat and enjoy the time. Only problem is that when it's busy, waitress kept forgetting to bring our drinks. Had to always ask another waitress to bring it for us.
Very loud inside
Vegan options were outstanding!!!
It was very very loud, however that's to be expected during the lunch hour. I had the swordfish taco, however the meal was far from hot. I couldn't send it back as I'm diabetic and had already taken my needle, so I had to eat and wouldn't be able to wait. I will also say that $5.50 for a bottle of San Pelligrino is absurd, I ordered 2, I don't normally look at the price of something, but in this case I should have, $11 for 2 bottles of water is insane.
The happy hour menu had great choices. The chicken tacos as well as the sushi with steak were delicious! The service was great. My friend and I got our food within a short amount of time. We enjoyed our meals and will definitely be returning.
First off we sat in one of those half round booths that had a table that was way too small for a party of 4, we had 3 starter plates and drinks and it could hardly fit on the table, I disliked constantly shuffling the plates and drinks to be able to reach for the food, just wanted to point out, when you have starters that you use your fingers to eat, there should be wet naps to use, instead we had to go to the washroom to clean up, I would expect at least wet napkins at this level.
When the main dish came it was room temperature, I had steak so I didn’t ask for a reheat. Overall the food was great, menu was great, and prices was reasonable.
Not recommended for a family dinner since most of the clientele was mostly young adults and the atmosphere was more catered to that crowd, though I was there with family for my wife’s birthday and it was my first time coming here, I would come again for cocktails.
Everything was fantastic just very loud in restaurant was difficult to hear the person sitting across from me
The place was little bit chilly, especially when the outside door would open...other than that, everything else was very good. Kung Pao chicken had too much sauce and the steak had too much sauce too but the meat was great.
The food took about an hour, it seemed.
The noise was crazy from the 6 women beside us.
Caesars were excellent!
Yes, with caveats. The food and value are awesome, but the atmosphere left something to be desired. Still, my family and I were impressed enough to try another Earls in the future.
