Food is not as good as it was last year! Shrimp tempura was drowning in gloppy sauce. The west coast oysters were tasteless. The rest of the meal was ok. Waitress could have come by more often to refill water glasses. Wine was most excellent.

The service, food and vibe was outstanding. Really loved this space and I am familiar with the group's sister properties. The tuna tartar was off the charts. Don't walk...run!

We ordered fish against the recommended burger( by others, not the restaurant) Our appetizers included raw, Japanese style fish which was mediocre and complex. I would keep it simple and high quality. There are too many sofisticated competitors that innovate better. The Dover sole was sub par. It’s expensive and much better almost anywhere. It’s a neighborhood joint , badly needed. Keep it simple and high quality. It’s an attractive place with good service. Fred Food

I believe the staff must have been having a off night. The host gave us a second-rate table and when I asked to have one of the banquettes instead, I was told they were reserved for other guests - they remained empty all evening (I was among the last to leave the restaurant). It took about 15 minutes after sitting down before anyone came to take a drinks order; then it took another 15 or more minutes to receive the drinks. I had to ask for water four times before anyone brought it. The neighboring table said they had much the same experience, and finally I had to tell our waitress that she needed to up the game or else my dinner companion and I were going to leave. I tried to complain to the host at the end of the evening, but was unable to do so because he already had left the restaurant before the last diners did. I have dined here several times before without any problem, so again I suspect the staff was having an off night.

Disappointed. Had a bad experience relative to a really nice one at this Restaurant in the past. Completely disorganized. All tables had issues with getting drinks and food. Way, way too expensive for that experience. Disappointed to have come here for a special occasion.

Spectacular in every way! Louis and Nikki made every effort to make my 40th birthday special! From champagne to start the evening to treats around every corner plus food made to perfection. All in candle light with smiles all around - I can’t wait to be back! Thank you for a night to remember! You can tell this team has passion for food and people! We have eaten here several times over the past year, and something has changed. Of course, the prices keep going up, but the quality is now really uneven. You can’t count on everything being fresh and the service has deteriorated. When we were there this past Thursday, the place was only half-full and the food was mediocre. For us this was a go-to place in the neighborhood, but I’m not sure we’re going back. Oh, and definitely don’t go on a Sunday night.

No, I would not recommend this restaurant. My friend and I had two appetizers, shared one meal and had one drink each and the cost (with tip) was $140. I am accustomed to New York prices (live here), but the food isn't good enough to warrant these prices. I won't go back.

Poor service. There are far better dining choices on the UES. I had a service issue which Anthony, one of the owners should have handled much better considering this is a neighborhood restaurant. Barely an apology for the extreme inconvenience to me and my party.

We made reservations at the other location and did not realize we were at a second location. I told them we had reservations at 8:00pm. They did not tell us, seated us anyway because tables were open, and as a result the fresh oysters and sushi we came for were not even available. This location was cramped; they jammed four of us into a Bankhead for two. They were out of most cocktails on the list so we gave up on that, too. This was Christmas dinner planned with our adult children. Disappointed. We could have easily walked in time to the other locals as we arrived a bit early. $500 later...

This was one of the better restaurants around What happened on Sunday night Made me say that I'm not going back . our waitress was making drinks said she was cooking in the kitchen and management was visibly missing My fish was over cooked so they clearly missed a beat. Skeptical that they will bounce back. Very expensive for that kind of service

Good food, service and ambience as you would expect, just wayyyyy overpriced. $17 for a salad comprising of a small bowl of arugula and pine nuts is ridiculous, even on the UES.

Service was inept and almost nonexistent. If not for the intervention of the hostess who took care of us as best she cold considering her other duties, we might still be waiting for things. Generally the food was fine, The oysters were undersized and overpriced.

EAST POLE FISH BAR HAS A LONG WAY TO GO. THE SUSHI WAS NOT GOOD. THE FISH WAS FLAVORLESS AND THE RICE WORSE THAN UNCLE BEN'S WORST DAY. NOT SURE WHY THERE IS A PROBLEM HERE.

They were really nice. I think it’s a bad idea to go to a fish restaurant on the Monday of Memorial Day! That was why the fish was not the best. I’ve been there many times before, when the fish has been terrific. Oh—the tables are not the most comfortable. That space, which used to be a place to get coffee and pastries has always been hard to work out. They did a great job improving the sound level. It’s now very reasonable. I will always go back. It is a half a block from where I live, and it’s not exactly a neighborhood teeming with great restaurants.

We had an absolutely wonderful night at East Pole - Fish Bar. The service was personal and orchestrated with perfect timing! Thank you Nikki and Chef for making our night! The food was suggested to perfection - the soft shell crab appetizer followed by the best red snapper entree we have ever had with the grand finale strawberry crumble pie a la mode - wow! The craft cocktails were also perfectly balanced and delightful! Can not wait to go back - such a relaxing yet elegant atmosphere with wonderful people! ❤️
