Eating House 1503
The food was for the most part excellent. The baby back ribs and steamed dumplings especially. Our server Reinalyn was amazing. She took such great care of us and genuinely wanted us to have a fantastic experience. She was a highlight of the meal. The operation is new and still being smoothed out it seems as they were out of most of the beer selection.
Would definitely go again.
Fantastic Food! The waitstaff very pleasant and helpful. Service from the bar was slow.
It’s a real Cayman Style Authentic brunch themed setting, from the casual food l, drinks and up to the times music #itsavibe
We booked a table, and had to queue at the door with many people who had booked tables as well. They suggested to some that they could offer a buffet menu if they were not able yo wait.
They were out of the wine we wanted, even though the wine list was limited.
The food was delivered to the table and the server had no idea who had ordered which dish.
They cleared plates before everyone had finished eating.
We asked for cappuccinos. They had none. We asked for decaffeinated coffee. They had none.
The acoustics were poor for conversation, especially sitting next to a table of 8 who were very loud.
We did negotiate a 25% discount, as we had to order a more expensive wine.
This restaurant does NOT honor reservations. We arrived on time; I could see they had an app open showing my name and reservation and I was told that “sorry they are full, they prioritize hotel guests”. I said I am a hotel guest who made a reservation. And the response was “I keep telling them we don’t use them. I can ask the manager if we can do anything”. No idea who “them” was referring to, and slightly disconcerting as was clear they had my name. As they had a running waiting list, we just left and went somewhere else. I don’t mind if they don’t want to take reservations but a bit disingenuous to say they do and then don’t respect them. No idea on food etc as we went somewhere else (and had an amazing meal). Can not comment on Eating House other than avoid if you want to arrive and find they respected your pre-planning.
Didnt get to eat there. Host was very rude. Don't know why it even makes sense to make a reservation. Got to the host and she was rude not to just myself but everyone before me, and then says to me we dont have room for 5. And don't know how long of a wait there would be. As local I promise I will never go there again.
Terrible and a complete let down.
Booked 2 weeks in advance to be told on arrival there are no tables available for 1-2 hours.
Would never recommend.
The food was good though what was served did not match the menu description for both entrees ordered.
Service was terrible, starting with the hostess who could not have been less welcoming. Several minutes then passed before we were ever approached by a server. The individual who said she would be our server took our order and was never seen again. Other servers brought our food but there was no follow up to insure the food was prepared properly or if we needed anything else.
Near the end of our meal one server was told of a side dish substitution that had been without telling us...and to something we did not care for. The server communicated our concerns to a manager who explained the substitution and added that the original server should have told us. Something that would have affected our ordering. He went ahead and adjusted our final bill...a saving grace for the establishment.
This was a fantastic find on 7 mile beach! Romantic setting, reasonable prices and healthy portions. Island cuisine at its best. Our waiter, Abdul was fabulous. A must do when you’re in Grand Cayman.
We were extremely impressed with the food. The sushi was very fresh, the entrees were excellent. The fish we had was excellent and the short rib was perfect. They should change the name, I think it can scare people away. This place located in Margaritaville was a diamond in the rough!
Excellent food and service
Really delicious food - NY level fusion cuisine. Have the halibut, the lobster fried rice, the sushi, the dumplings. Amazing
Based on eating at other Roy's restaurants I was expecting a lot more from this establishment
The front desk seems in disarray when we got there.
Once seated asked again if we had reservation even if the restaurant was half empty.
The apps were brought out and no side plates offered to share.
Water was never refilled.
The lamb which I had, had very little flavour.
Overall very disappointing having been vote top 50 restaurant in the Carribean
I enjoyed the food
Sushi rolls not as I expected but service & other dishes were great
We went on New Years and it was delicious!
When we booked, we were told it would be either New Years Menu OR normal a la carte. Showing up at the restaurant we were told only the special menu was served. However, when we are served the first course we see other tables getting the normal a la carte, not professional. When we talked to the manager we got some lame excuse - terrible. Also did not get the wine that was listed....... not a great experience, poorly handled and not expected at a "nice" restaurant.
Food was good, service good but ambience considering we are in Grand Cayman was very lacking, like a cafeteria/roadhouse
I don't dole out five stars often, but Eating House 1503 is well deserving. The food is outstanding--don't miss the spare rib, salmon or scallops. The conch fritters are a fusion masterpiece stuffed with sausage. The staff has grown with the restaurant--the on duty managers quickly responded to my concern that our server, who was serving a 10-topper as well as our table and another 4-topper, was overloaded and the service was superb. The wine list is reasonably priced (for Cayman!) and definitely make your order right after you receive your mains for the chocolate souffle. Definitely a high recommendation!
Good food. Ambiance is poor
It was our first visit to this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. We thought the food was excellent. Compared to some of the more highly rated restaurants on the island, the food was just as good or better. We will certainly return here the next time we visit Grand Cayman.
Arrived early and wife walked to bar and she was told she couldn't sit there until she checked in. I was waiting to check n. After that fiasco service and food were excellent. Wine selection light but good value for wines enlist. Halibut and short rib were delicious. Dumpling and fritter apps were spot on
Excellent dining experience
Excellent service and food
Very accommodating to my daughter who is a vegan. We both ate very well.
Awesome dinner. Had glass noodle salad. So delicious with nice textures and flavours. Halibut fabulous, flaky. Shared that and perfect portion. The rice it was served with was so good, a little crunch soft chew but again flavours! Then desserts oh yes no splitting that. Had the creme brûlée matcha and coconut pana cotta!! Ohhh must go back. Ask if halibut is in da house as they keep it fresh and only so many from what I understood. Rejoice! Paul makes fabulous cocktails and greeting girl were awesome. We sat at the bar.
Good food, service ok. Acoustics make it very noisy.
This place was just as good as the Roy’s of Waikiki. We love it!!
The food was excellent, my halibut was perfectly cooked, the fried cauliflower-sprout dish was flavourful too. The service was disorganized at the beginning, however as tables left and servers had more capacity to look after tables, it was getting better. Thank you for the experience, all in all, we had a lovely night.
The food was good, we were a bit disappointed by the sushi. However we come from a place that has exceptional sushi so we are hard to please on that front! The oysters were really good, the Brussel sprouts and cauliflower dish was tasty and the drinks were stellar! We would definitely go back again!
This was my third time at Eating House to celebrate Mother's Day. Food was delicious as my previous times and the reason why I wanted to go back. However, the service was "unattentive". We had to flag down our server several times when we needed something. Our server also offered us the dessert menu at the end of the meal from which we ordered 3 desserts. After ordering the desserts, our server brings us a complimentary dessert platter with several desserts on it along with the desserts we ordered. He should have told us that the complimentary platter was being offered as we wouldn't have ordered all the other desserts. There was so much desserts we didn't even finish them all. I thought it was rather cheeky to upsell us on desserts when there was going to be a complimentary platter.
Candia was out waitress she was great. And the food was amazing. Had sushi and lobster fried rice
Preis Leistung hat absolut gepasst. Einziger Kritikpunkt: es wurde kein Wasser nachgefüllt.
Service and food were AMAZING!
I would go again!!!
Food was beyond outstanding.. the taste as well as the presentation. Service couldn't have been better. We were beyond pleased with our experience.
Food was great and good value
Food was good, service was good but the prices were higher than advertised. There’s great food on the island priced better.
We’re pretty picky eats and don’t usually write reviews but we loved this restaurant...great sushi, and other seafood. You won’t be disappointed!!
We have been coming to Cayman for 15 years and have tried many of the amazing restaurants on the island. We went with friends and shared a bunch of appetizers - did our own tapas style. The presentation, portion and quality were outstanding. The poke melted in your mouth. The sashimi was amazing. The 20 min wait for the chocolate torte that 4 of us shared is worth the wait! It is a keeper and we will be back!
The food was so delicious and the service was great!
