An upmarket neighbourhood bistro serving locally focused dishes. We are a bustling one-room restaurant with a comfy bar. Seasonal menus include P.E.I. Blue Dot rib eye steaks, local seafood, and seasonal veg.

Open for lunch service Tuesday-Friday 1130-230
Open for Supper service Tuesday-Sunday 5-10pm
Open for Brunch service Sunday 10-2 pm

We keep bar seating open for walk-ins each night so feel free to pop in.

Reservations recommended, walk-ins welcome but not guaranteed.

***Please note when picking a reservation time that our licence requires minors (even sweet tiny little babies) to be out of the restaurant by 10pm, sorry for the inconvenience.

One of my fave Halifax restaurants still going strong! Haven’t been in 2 years and went for lunch with a friend. I can recommend both the burrata and the Steak tartar which together made a substantial hugh protein lunch. The chef was kings enough to sub long slices of persian cucumbers for me to use in place of bread or crackers. My friend had the salad with perfectly seared scallops . Good coffee also. Highly recommend!

Excellent service. Food outstanding, hidden gem in Halifax in up and coming neighborhood. Braised beef one of the best I’ve ever tasted.

We had an amazing dining experience. Edna was recommended to us by a local and it did not disappoint. Heather was an angel in finding a table for us when we showed much earlier than our reservation. Although my husbands ribeye was delicious, the star of the table was the arctic char. A perfect harmony of acid, crunch, and sweet. Soooooo good. Thank you to all the staff for an amazing night!

Unfortunately, the noise reduced the atmosphere to that of the tavern, making conversation difficult. It spoiled an otherwise pleasant meal.

We always consider Edna to be the best restaurant in Halifax. You will not find a better steak anywhere, and everything else is always equally, consistently fantastic. Nice to see that the amazing brunch has come back as well! As always, we can't wait to go back.

Service was pleasant and efficient. Loved the appies and the mains were oh my god so good… Really enjoyed the cocktails and the desserts as well.
