Friends recommended Edna’s. We absolutely loved it from the minute we walked in. The staff was really pleasant and very helpful. The food was delicious and the ambience was comfortable and relaxing. This would be our number one choice next time we visit Halifax.

Good variety of oyster dishes for starters, as well as other items. Enough different entrees to suit any taste. Small but good wine and drink list. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Excellent value and fun!

Best meal I've ever had. The charcuterie board was great, especially the onion jam, and the steak and scallops were cooked perfectly. The baked oysters were also really good. Quick and friendly service too.

Our server Cathy was incredible. We decided to sit side by side on the wooden bench, and when Cathy walked up to us and said:"Oh... so you're that couple!" Ha. We loved her vibe from that moment onwards and all of her recommendations were killer. The scallops were pure perfection, and the fettuccine with meat sauce was excellent (mind you we both agreed it could be improved with a tablespoon of creme fraiche) and the sticky toffee pudding with miso ice cream was BEYOND. At the end of the night Cathy complimented us on not having been sickening - so that's a positive recco for my companion and I. Haha. If you're not sure where to eat in Halifax, THIS IS THE SPOT.

Our meal was amazing from start to finish! We both started with the pulled pork, black-eyed beans, scallion and heirloom tomato salsa wonton amuse bouche - honestly the most delicious experience, perfect combo of flavour, texture and so cleverly created to liven our taste buds. Glad we did as, our mains continued to impress. My seared scallops with asparagus and pearl couscous , kale chips floating in butternut and miso purée were sensational both to glaze at and eat. My partner opted for the Cornish hen on the specials menu - the hen was first cooked by sous vide, roasted and fried and was melt in your mouth good. Served with the new fingerling potatoes and charred beans - it felt nourishing and comforting. I was lucky to get a couple of bites in between his exclamations of enjoyment and satisfaction! The wine list was excellent with a range of New World and European, even a few Canadian options and we loved that so many were available by the glass so we could pair with our food. The staff and especially our server were so welcoming and attentive without being at all intrusive. We were eating super early as we had tickets for a 7 pm play and already the restaurant had a nice vibe, a few people enjoying cocktails at the bar and several tables of early eaters chatting happily. We are looking forward to returning soon. Thank you for a wonderful meal!

I’m from Toronto and discovered Edna in 2022 while visiting Halifax. It was such a treat that when I was returning to Halifax I booked dinner well in advance and was very excited to return to Edna. I wasn’t disappointed. The staff are friendly and helpful, the service attentive, and the food is exceptional. Thanks for making my Halifax visit extra special Edna!

I had forgotten how wonderful it was to dine at Edna's. The moment we walked in the door we were greeted with a smile and felt so welcome. Our waitress was so friendly,kind,and had an amazing sense of humor.THE BEST. EVERY meal course was delicious. We will be back and will bring more friends. THANK YOU.

I’ve never had anything but a stellar meal and service at Edna. The one drawback for me is that the restaurant is very noisy. It’s wonderful to have a bustling ambiance. However, the conversation seems to be amplified in this space. Is there some practical way you can reduce the noise? This would make the dining experience PERFECT!

We were Celebrating our daughter’s first visit to Halifax and Edna delivered on every front. The delicious, creative and fresh meal was presented beautifully in vintage tableware course by course. . Ambience was cozy and service sincere and attentive. A special treat for foodies and romantics alike. Highly recommend!

The people who work at Edna are friendly and informed, and super helpful. The food is amazing from beginning to end - portions are not too large, and the combinations of flavours are exceptional. Great relaxed feel to the room, and it is a wonderful restaurant experience.

Outstanding experience! The food was incredibly flavourful and our server made excellent recommendations. Personal favourites were two of the daily special appetizers, the tuna and the pork rillette amuse bouche, the beef tartare and the scallops (main). Highly recommend!
