   Best steak tartare of my life, hands down. Paired perfectly with a Prosecco as per house recommendation. Lovely welcoming staff. I had the most delightful seat near the front corner by the window where it was bright and cozy and made for the perfect dinner. Would fly to Halifax just to eat here again and remember to save room for dessert next time, too!

   Edna is always reliably good. Menu is interesting. Staff are exceptional. We've started going for lunch to avoid the crowds. It can be very noisy in the evening and we don't enjoy yelling at each other. Might be better if there were only 2 at a small table. But it is definitely a great place for terrific food.

   Dining at Edna was delightful. Food and service were excellent. A wonderful variety of patrons, young and old. It can be noisy so if your aim is to have a quiet conversation, that might be difficult. But it is a lovely, vibrant spot. Priced a little higher than what is usual for us, but well worth it for really good food.

    We had another fantastic meal at Edna, and enjoyed their smoked salmon latkes as well as halibut cheeks and arctic char. Shaw, our server, was friendly and personable.

    Thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Edna's and will absolutely re-book when I'm next back in Halifax. The service was great, our server was so friendly and funny and gave us good recommendations about the menu. The food was DELICIOUS. Best beef tartare I've had. Highly recommend dining here. Definitely make a reservation, this place is popular.

    The food here is at least one step above anything else I’ve had in Halifax. We had seafood chowder with fresh dill that was light and delicious. We also had their roasted beets and fried Brussels sprouts as appetizers and they were perfect. We finished with the sticky toffee cake and black sesame ice cream. Do yourself a favour and eat here! Our server, Brad, had great suggestions, was attentive but unobtrusive and had a fabulous sense of humour. We liked it so much we reserved again for our final night in Halifax!

    Excellent service by the staff from cocktail through dessert! Particularly impressed by how the server worked with the kitchen to modify menu items/communicate options for the member of our party with a food allergy.

    It seemed to take forever to get a drink when we first arrived. We were the waitress's only table. She was chatting with staff and we were ignored for 15 minutes or so after we were seated. When we finally ordered, she cleaned the bar, brought us a side plate etc before getting our drinks. It was weird. She was nice enough, just not logical in her service approach. We had the Buratta which was on toasted bread. I have no idea how we were supposed to eat this. It sounds strange, but the toasted bread was really difficult to cut. It had a lot of toppings and we were sawing away at it with a knife. Eventually, I had to rip at it with my hands. I don't know how something soggy is so tough at the same time. It was so quiet (Friday lunch) that you could hear the cooks. One was heard saying "The hamburgers are pretty fresh". The tone of the sentence meant, they are ok, but could be fresher. Yikes...that was what we were getting. We had a burger and the special which was a fried fish sandwich. The burger was alright...pretty fresh I guess lol. The issue I have is the sweetness. I'm not a fan of sweet burgers. The fish burger and beef burger were served in a milk bun. That bun just collapses and turns doughy. Not a fan. I was at Edna's a few years ago and it was much better.

    My partner and I had some of the best food we’ve ever had here! Our waiter was very kind and the amuse bouche was fantastic too. The gnocchi was creamy and delicious, and my partner raved that the ribeye was the best he’s ever had.

    Edna is one of my favourite restaurants to go to in Halifax for a date night, drink or to bring out of town visitors. I always have the best meals, the staff are all so friendly and they are so willing to make accommodations. Also being pregnant, they make amazing non-alcoholic cocktails to your palate preferences!     The food here is outstanding and it’s a very nice restaurant. Our service left something to be desired, however. Our food was served literally 2 minutes after we ordered it (about 10 minutes after we arrived). We hadn’t even been brought our wine yet. Then we just felt like we were being rushed out the door from there. We were out of the restaurant within an hour, not ideal for celebrating a birthday. Unfortunate experience because the food was to die for.

    We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The amuse bouche was incredible! Perfect for a tiny snack but not a full appetizer. I have many dietary restrictions, and our server was absolutely incredible. She was super patient, sat beside me to go through every dish, and took great care of us.
