   Overall, one of the best dinner experiences of me and my wife’s lives! We came for our honeymoon and we’re taken aback by the outstanding customer service, friendly values, and incredible food.    This is one of the best places in Toronto to have sushi and tempura as well. The fish and seafood are really fresh and there is a wide variety of it included in the course. The counter service is a special treat as the chef makes the sushi right in front of you. Dining at Edomae Kiyomi is a delightful experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys eating the very best of sushi.

   Came in to celebrate our anniversary at one of our favourite restaurants. The food is always so delicious and delicate. A lot of attention to detail and service is very attentive. They gave us a complimentary dessert at the end of our meal which was super nice of them to make our experience so memorable. Will definitely be back.

   Over priced for the value. Sushis are tasty and good, rice ok, shape ok but the appetizer sashimi set was dry and smelly. Overall, the value was half price value. The guide chef was too quiet, just serving. Omakase sushi chefs normally explain about the food they serve like what is the best way to eat, what is it it, what kind of flavor is from what and so on. The chef didn’t say anything when we leave the restaurant. I feel so bad about his attitude.

   Very clean and quiet restaurant. Staff are attentive and nice. Was really appreciative to hear one of the chefs wish us a happy anniversary. They even wrote it in Japanese on our dessert. I'm glad I went here.

    I just had my worst Omakase experience in Toronto. Firstly, the course I booked was the tempura omakase. It was only after we started eating that I realized we received the sushi omakase instead. I asked the waitress why we were served the the wrong course and was then told we were accidentally put on the wrong course list. We decided to overlook the mistake and continued with the sushi course. During the two hours of the meal, the teacup was only refilled once during the entire meal and remained empty the rest of the meal, completely ignored by the waiting staff. After our soup course, the waitress only took away my friend's bowl and left my empty bowl on the table until the sixth course after it. A piece of kelp was lying on the table the entire time, the Waitress did not even attempt to clean any thing during the dinner. Regarding the ingredients, the shellfish were soft and not fresh, and the eel sushi was not properly deboned. After dinner, I waited for the dessert for nearly half an hour. I kindly told the waitress that today's dining experience was as not expected, but she responded in a defensive tone with a look of disbelief on her face that she received a review less than superb, "Oh? What did I do wrong?” The lack of awareness, coupled with an unapologetic attitude rubbed me the wrong way so I made myself clear regarding the quality of service I’ve received. The waitress’ tone became hostile, ”ok so what do you want?” I immediately said I didn’t want anything, but wanted to bring to attention the negative experience we received during our meal. She then just left the table with a terrible attitude and zero apology. When the payment machine was handed to us there was no dinner amount entered in, we had to enter everything in by ourself. Avoid this restaurant at all cost

    Rice was too moist and mushy. For an expensive omakase experience I'd expect it to be made correctly. Servers need to learn proper serving etiquette. Please do not serve every single glass by touching the top of each glass/bottle where the mouth goes. Also forgot to bring soy sauce when asked for. It is definitely worth it as you get lots of food and a cash discount and if they improve on these things it will be even better. I had a great time regardless.

    I start with good part. Food has a good quality and fresh. It is a preset menu so that is a complete surprise. The staff are friendly. However, it is highly over-priced. Their drink menu is very small. Ambience is very old and casual for $200 per person restaurant.

    Despite being known for the Tempura Omakase, I came in for the Sushi Omakase and they did not disappoint! The selection of fish was all premium and the service was amazing. The rice was cooked perfectly, not too hot, and had the right amount of vinegar to complement it was so creamy and so sweet compared to all the fishy and metallic ones I've had in the past. It complimented the salty ikura that it was served with. I went there for my anniversary and the desert was tailored to include a Happy Anniversary message which was a great bonus to the amazing meal. Will definitely come back for the Sushi Omakase menu again.

    Good sushi for decent price, however, my chef wasn’t able to speak any English and explained all the dishes in Japanese only, which I couldn’t understand any. This shouldn’t be a problem for basic Japanese places, but definitely not what I expected for over $150/person meal + tip & tax experience. Could have been better if there were a little printed card or whatever which describes the details of my course meal so I can at least know what am I getting on my plate. Nice and calm atmosphere, but the background music from their iPad sounded very cheap and kinda ruined the mood. Could have been better if they hooked that up to a decent bluetooth speaker at least. Music directly from an iPad speaker felt like a phone is ringing it’s ringtone next to me, nonstop. Would visit again, but would like to have a better experience next time.

    Value wise, not bad. In comparison to other omakase restaurants you get your value. Experience wise, the sushi chef wasn't very talkative but explained each piece. From a food taste wise, it was good but not memorable from other omakase experiences. Of the 20 pieces, my partner and I enjoyed 3 items (liver/pate, crab & salmon egg, amberjack)

    On the positive side, the omakase sushi was outstanding. The fish was very fresh. I tasted for the first time shirako sushi. The description would sound gross to some diners, so I suggest looking it up on google. The taste is creamy and rich. For the adventurous. The service was friendly and courteous. One point of criticism: the restaurant was full at 50% capacity (Covid rules), but a group of diners, supposedly friends of the tempura chef (owner?), walked in at least 1 1/2 hours before the next sitting, and was invited to wait, beside those dining. We had to remind the chef/owner of the Covid rule violation before he asked the friends to leave. He should be mindful of his customers' safety. Part of the omakase experience is the opportunity to banter with the sushi chef. He was too serious, as a result, the dining was done in quiet.

    PROS: Amazing food, attentive staff, friendly chefs. CONS: There were only 2 waitresses, so everyone who reserved for 8:30 had to wait til 9 so the tables could from the last reservation could leave and the tables could be cleaned. There was very little waiting space, so us standing there awkwardly for almost half an hour while the other guests were finishing their meals was not a great experience.

    Pre-sliced fish was a little off putting for an omakase at this price point, and the seasoned grated daikon on some of the pieces were overpowering. But overall an outstanding meal, very good flavor profile on the shari and the selection of ingredients!

    Edomae Kiyomi was outstanding during the dining restrictions, and we expect it to be superb when business is back to usual! The patio was very well designed- but let’s talk about the coursing and the food! There were so many courses, it’s impossible to do them all justice. So, highlights were a very creative salmon roe dish, naturally the fatty tuna, a delightful dessert, and a number of nigiri dishes we haven’t had at a number of high-end places.     A true 5 star restaurant. Be it service, the food, ambience or whatever. The owner Kevin was a pleasure to talk to and his passion for bringing a true omakaese experience to his customers really showed. I had the honor of speaking with Kevin for a bit because of the limited amount of customers allowed to be served at one time. The man really cares about your experience and its sad to see COVID crippling his business. I definitely would love to come back and recommend this restaurants to everyone

    Loved everything about it. Used ingredients from Atlantic coast to the Pacific coast and the Caribbean Sea. Very fresh seafood while still keep it traditional.

    Went here for our anniversary dinner and got the Sushi Omakase. They did an impeccable job with social distancing and cleanliness. Super fair price, the pieces of sashimi/sushi were a great size, quality and taste. The chef made us a special dessert for our anniversary as well 😊. Service was amazing, the gentlemen taking care of us paid a lot of attention and was super polite.
