Didn’t get a good vibe and the food was really flat. Octopus was extremely salty and krauquets were average. And the French onion soup was terrible.

Have been 5-6 times. Have grown to love this charming cozy restaurant. Very interesting Basque/French dishes. We especially enjoy the small plates. Staff are service are always great! Highly recommended!

Beautiful, tiny, well appointed restaurant off the beaten path. Focused menu and wine list. Among the best food I've had in SW FL. Attentive service. The duck, the steak and the burnt cheesecake were all superb. Been here twice...much better this, the second time. Highly recommend.

El Basque is phenomenal! If you want the experience of being in Spain or France the way the locals eat, you must try it. John Colon, the owner/chef is rocking out some amazing dishes, has a great wine list and is such a great host that you will want to NOT tell your friends (but you should) so you can always get a table. We have been going since it first opened and it just keeps getting better!!

First time to enjoy, and we were warmly greeted. Our server was very attentive and all service was efficient and friendly. Decor is charming! Restaurant is small and intimate and "quiet" since it only seats a small dining audience, all this a rarity in the current restaurant world! And the food... amazing!! We'll be back!! Thank you!!

The whole experience was great! We found El basque on the list of restaurants participating in sizzle week. In addition to the sizzle menu we tried the charcuterie board an a bottle of wine! Food was outstanding. Gazpacho, croquettes, cod, duck, basque cheesecake and flan! Chefs kiss! We’ll definitely be back.

This is a European cuisine well executed.I can't judge for its authenticity to Basque cuisine but the flavors were quite pleasant and the dishes appealing to the eye as well. There was a nice wine selection of both domestic and European origins. The Waite and owner ere efficient and cordial. We will return.

Food was delicious. We tried the figs with cheese, charcuterie board, with meats, and cheeses, escargot, blood sausage, and French onion soup! Our waiter was very thoughtful and kind and funny. And we had the most amazing musician playing a lute, which he made, and was quite lovely to have that quiet kind of guitar music in the background. I lovely night!

We took advantage of the opportunity we had to travel from Miami to Bonita Springs to make a reservation at El Basque. What a fabulous experience and exceptional labor of love by this Father/Daughter team. The place is cozy and wonderfully appointed but the food is the star. We had the Gilda app, the Duck and the black in pasta, and crowned the experience with an extraordinary homemade riccota cheesecake that is second to none! I HIGHLY recommend this gem, will no doubt return next time I'm near Florida's southwest coast.

It was our second time in El Basque, first time went with friends and today for my husband’s birthday. The ambience is lovely, small room with only 10 tables, cozy bistro feel. The food was delicious, everything freshly made, good wine selection, authentic sangria. And the service? Absolutely outstanding, our waiter was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable when suggesting us a good wine and answering questions about the menu. It was a delightful evening and we will be back.

We tried this restaurant on a whim and it was a very, very pleasant surprise. We will surely return. Our waitress was most attentive and helpful with selections and it was great being able to order 'small plates' for dinner rather than just a 'main course.' Try it and you won't be disappointed.

We did the small plates. White anchovies and fig dish stood out. All exceptional. Guitar player nice addition. Spanish wine (wish I could remember name but 9 oz pour was $18). Fried cheesecake absolutely the best I have ever eaten. Melts in your mouth.

Excellent food! Tasty, different…a flavorful discovery. Great ambiance and decoration. Basque cuisine is a mix of French and Spanish. The staff is knowledgeable and John -El Basque owner - took time to explain us his restaurant vision. Very good wine menu including basque wines served directly by a great sommelier. A must for our next trip to Bonita Springs!

This is a hidden gem. Amazing menu and food was prepared and presented by professionals. Quaint and cozy. We loved the octopus, frog legs and Spanish rice with lobster. The French onion soup was amazing. The atmosphere is unique and the wait staff was attentive and experts. We will go back.

The food is very interesting especially the pintxos. We loved the classical guitar music. It was not too loud and overpowering. But, most of all, we loved the cozy atmosphere and decor. Definitely a place to try for dinner.
