We are excited to announced that el Santo was recently awarded best latin restaurant in Vancouver by Vancouver Magazine.
Friday & Saturday: 11:30 am – 11:00 pm;
Food was too expensive. I ordered the pork belly and the portion was small. The tacos we're ok but I left feeling still hungry for the amount of money I paid. The flavors we're good and presentation was pretty but I didn't find it particularly special.
Always have. A great time here... food, service, decor are awesome. It wasn’t too busy for a Thursday evening... but we made reservations anyways!
The service was a bit slow at times but the server was friendly and helpful. Food was good and spicy. Cocktails were interesting and tasty.
Great service, food & drinks. But sooooooo loud - it was almost impossible to carry on a conversation and my ears were ringing when we left.
We found to food to be very tasty, the service was good but for me, the margaritas made the evening! Best ever.
The restaurant is great and in New West! The food and drinks are lovely, but the menu is hard to understand and the water servers don't seem well informed on the menu (such as, "what's the happy hour taco?"). The restaurant is beautiful inside.
Pleasantly surprised. I’m vegan so options were very limited however staff appeared open to asking chef to modify the rice dish. I elected for th3 salsa trio and guacamole which were very tasty. The nacho chips are AMAZING!!!
Everyone in our group raved about both the fish tacos and the sangria!!
Recommended for a fun time and enjoyable experience.
We were there on a saturday night and the placed was filled with live jazz music, a birthday party, and good looking people out for a great night. Our waitress was very attentive and informative. The tequila and mezcal selection is extensive and amazing. The appetizers and tacos were well priced and delicious, but the trios guacamole was dissapointing as the flavours were not very distinc from each other. They were basically the same except for the different toppings (one had a couple pieces if diced mango, one had an orange slice, and one had pork rinds on top). The bone marrow appetizer was amaaazing; intensely flavourful. Downsides, I had to share, and also the wrap provided wasn't the best vehicle for the almost liquid bone marrow and juices.
10/10 would definitely go back.
Great food and awesome service! We really enjoyed both the food and drinks.
Unfortunately, $20 brunch was a pile of double deep fried tortilla chips with small pork belly pieces so overdone they weren’t worth struggling to cut into. Have been to this restaurant twice too many.
We love this place! Great location in New West. They have an extensive cocktail list and the food has a modern take on traditional Latin fair. Fun for a night out!
This is not a typical Amer-Mexican restaurant: no refried beans here! Outstanding, unusual ingredients and flavours. Must try.
Always a great evening shared with El Santo. Such a great addition to New Westminster.
Awesome food and service bar none.
Highly recommend this restaurant!
I've been here many times and it never disappoints!
First time at El Santo and I had great service and amazing food. Definitely will be back soon.
Cool & trendy spot, good buzzy atmosphere. The food was a bit mixed...the small plates we had were really good, the tacos were rather bland and lacked seasoning. Service was good, explained the dishes well and was always available when we needed something. Portions rather on the small side though, while prices are not...
Good food, drinks, and live entertainment all made for a fun night out with some of my lady friends!
El Santo is definitely the go to place in New Westminster. Have gone there for a guiet drink with my daughter, Mother’s Day, brunch & bigger get togethers & each time have thoroughly enjoyed the excellent food & relaxing atmosphere. Will certainly be back.
I was excited to try this place but was extremely disappointed.
The restaurant was very noisy - you can not hear your friends and the service was not good. Waitress didn’t come once to check on us. We had to raise our hands to order and get attention.
The food was ok but overpriced. Only 1 vegan options which is ridiculous for a Mexican cousine.
I would not recommend this place as it is not worth the price and it seems that the stuff feels like they are too good to serve the “regular people”
LOTS OF FUN, WONDERFUL STAFF, GREAT FOOD , KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
Another wonderful meal and a perfect way to celebrate out anniversary!! Thanks to Alejandro,Liz and Ema!!
Great food and atmosphere! Would come again!
The changes in the menu were disappointing. This was our favourite place to go, but since changing/removing several of the tacos, we may not be back for a while. The cod one was amazing. However very few non seafood options for the other diner with a seafood allergy. The cachete taco has become basic at best. The guac/chips and guay margaritas are still great, but not enough in themselves to bring us back.
Everything was great! Fast, friendly service. Amazing food. Best margarita. Will definitely be back!
Still remains a victim of its own success, reservations made and were quickly seated. Hostess and all the staff very friendly, but due to the street festival and "pop up outdoor patio", the restaurant could not handle orders within the dining room in a timely manner. Only ordered tapas and taco's, yet the tacos took more than 30min to be served due to the kitchen being slammed by the patio, as stated by the hostess. Enjoy coming to El Santo from downtown, but not as frequently, as the location can't seem to handle itself as well as it could.
Delicious! Great ambience!
We had a great time. Good food, great waitress. Some dishes a bit pricey. Tacos great deal and very good. Will be back.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. The food is presented in a fresh and healthy way. So great. Prices are awesome!
All together the experience was very enjoyable with a great tasting menu and a reasonable price for the great quality food you get.
Great as always!
The food was okay, tasty, but waay overpriced for what you get and very noisy given it was a Monday night and only a few tables were occupied.
I got the fish tacos and though the fish was really good it was loaded with pickled slaw and just a tiny bit of fish. Expected really great margaritas... they were good, but nothing unique.
Went for Happy Hour. I chose the Pollo tacos which were 2 for $7. The tacos were very dry, had pickled veggies on it, no cheese, no sauce, no salsa or sour cream given. The Sangria was good, but fruit flies were constantly around our glasses. I wouldn't go back for the food as the regular menu was pricey. May go back for drinks?
We’ve been wanting to try this restaurant. Ambiance was great with live music. Food was delicious. My daughter ordered quesadilla from the kids menu which we thought was a little over priced. Overall, great experience.
wine by the glass was fairly expensive .... entertainment great ... food was interesting and easy
This is a very cute place and the food is good. i loved that you have live bands. My only complaint is that the panza con mole felt ridiculously over priced considering how small it was. It was the same size as the tacos but I would not spend 24 dollars on that.
The food is beautiful, thoughtful and thought provoking. 100% would go again.
Didn't enjoy it as much as previously. Menu has changed, didn't like it. Was WAY too noisy, had to shout to my dinner companion! Not planning to go back soon.
Food was tasty, portions on the small side with no accompaniments. Risotto cheesy and delicious. Cornbread appetizer yummy but small. Tacos good but smallish. Service was good, lots of water refills and checking on our food. Small desert selection, we went elsewhere for that. I would recommend if you want something a little different than regular Mexican, but it wouldn’t be a place I would come to very often because of selection, and size of meal vs. price.
