Our server was really lovely and helpful - just ended waiting a long time to get the bill - so gave bit of a lower rating for that reason - food was fantastic!
Excellent staff great food but just a bit too noisy for me. It was other guest that were extremely loud. We could barely hear each other talk
Food was amazing..noise level was too much could not talk
Very good authentic food..great atmosphere! Have the churros for dessert!
Menu was perfect in size and selection. A little bit pricey but definitely worth every penny for the quality received. Attention to detail with everything from the service, speed and food quality overall is the reason we'll be going back very soon.
Good margaritas. Food decent. Came on a Saturday evening… Very noisy and boisterous but good atmosphere. Service was good
Food was amazing. Service was not so great, my niece ordered a cheese quesadilla off the kids menu as she is 12 and the server gave her a hard time about it. She put her on the spot and said “that’s on the kids menu, how old are you”. I just didn’t think it was appropriate. Everything else was great.
Love, love, love this restaurant! The service is awesome and the food memorable. Thank you for a wonderful evening out to celebrate our anniversary!
Excellent food and service. Thanks for a great evening!
A fantastic place, we enjoyed our special occasion dinner there so much. Thanks!
Exquisite food and Tacos.
Al pastor tacos was sublime
Churros dessert was generous and amazing
It was great from the moment we walked in. We were greeted by amazing hostesses and our waitress was delightful. The owner always makes us feel welcome.
Our go to Mexican restaurant in the Greater Vancouver Area and a neighborhood gem. This time we were a party of four. The food was excellent overall and service was quick with an attentive server. My wife said that her albacore tuna was cooked slightly less attentively than before, hence the 4 star rating. However, overall we had a great evening .
I’ve dined at this restaurant a few times. The decor inside is great and the music is always fun. The website and OpenTable app both showed a happy hour menu and that it was on from 3-6 daily so we made a booking for 5pm hoping to have a drink and appetizers. We got seated and when the server came to greet us we asked for the happy hour menu. She said they didn’t have one and so we asked if she was aware that both the website and open table app show it’s on. She didn’t seem to care at ALL and just said “I’ll let them know”. No apology, no questions, nothing at all. We are assuming she probably didn’t even let anyone know, but hoping our assumption is incorrect so that more people don’t go through the same thing. Her attitude was pretty disappointing. It’s clear this girl was either having a bad day or is unhappy with her job. We felt rushed and just finished our food and drinks quickly and went to a different spot. Disappointing experience overall.
Online say about vegan menu
But was almost nothing vegan,
Also the menu doesn’t show that some food are extra spicy so my wife and my friend wife weren’t even able to eat their food .
Great food, outstanding Margaritas.
The staff were friendly and polite and followed safety protocols.
Not my first time and won’t be my last. Awesome service, portion size and quality! Great local joint 10/10 recommend 👌🏻
Loved it. Great Mexican food and lovely presentation! The churros are a must.
The Tijuana salad is our go to. Must try enchilada suizas fantastic!
Excellent food, on par with top notch restaurants in Mexico City!
Great experience overall and the food was delicious.
Best Tequila cocktails I have had. Paloma and Guey.
Highly recommend to try this place out. We will be back
We had the best time at El Santo. The food was so flavorful and there was often a twist or innovation on traditional dishes. The staff was very personable (honestly the best!) and ambience was great. We had a wonderful time and couldn’t stop talking about what our favorite dishes where even after we left the restaurant. Definitely a gem. We will be back. I’m still thinking about the skillet cornbread and the bison tartar!
The food is mediocre but most importantly it is not Mexican food.
Would I go back there? Never.
I will advice the Mexican community to avoid that place.
They ran out of the carne dish even though we let our server know right away that this was going to be our entree. Forty minutes later they informed us that they were out of this item.
Our first time at El Santo. It was busy but we had a reservation, and we were quickly accommodated to a table more to our liking. Very quick with the water and menus, but slow with the cocktails - which were excellent. One of our party cannot have very spicy food and staff were very helpful in finding a main course that was suitable. Two of our party ordered the Chili Rellenos, which were very disappointing. The deconstructed nature of the dish, ie like a lasagna, rendered the dish boring - not that flavourful and uninteresting on the plate. One person ordered the barbacoa tacos, which were flavourful and generous but, again, uninteresting on the plate. The sopa was very tasty but lukewarm. We might go back for appetizers and cocktails, but not a main meal.
Top notch service. The salsa and guacamole trios were excellent. The flank steak itself was really good but a little more of the Demi glacé would have been nice. One of us at the Perch…really good but a little on the dry side. All in all a great dining experience and would definitely go back.
Great tacos. Good service. Churros delicious.
The vibe, the food and the service were all top notch. It was so amazing to hear people laughing and enjoying time together after the year we've had. The restaurant was bumpin on a Wednesday night, we'll definitely be going back!
The Ceviche de camaron was delicious., followed by the Carne con ahumada, a leek ash rubbed Wagyu flank steak with red pepper and habanero demi semi glace was to die for. The taste was wonderful. Highly recommended
The food is always so great, but this time around my husband's burrito had an entire, 4 - 5" long chicken bone inside of it that he bit into. The restaurant is always much too loud for my liking, but the food makes it very worth it.
Overall, I wish I could give a 5 star rating, but the lack of willingness or empathy to make up for my husband biting into a rather large chicken bone was disheartening.
That being said, I would still eat here again... but i would hesitate from ordering the chicken burrito
Ordered my margarita half sweet and it was very sweet still, tortilla for the tacos was very dry and fell apart into a million pieces.
El Santo is a great upscale place with spectacular service and even better food and drinks! Reserve your table ahead, it's more than worth the experience!
Food was bland and the service was inattentive. Had to double check that my food was celiac friendly and it was not.
Fabulous food and amazing service. We ordered the Trio of Salsas, Tijuana 24, and the Tinga and Al Pastor tacos. Was recommended to try the special Gordito, which was delicious! Great food and excellent service. We’ll be back!
Boisterous and delicious.
The home-made tortilla chips that accompany the guacamole and/or ceviche are generous and tasty. The tacos are hearty and mouth-watering. You can't go wrong with El Santo.
