This restaurant was VERY loud. My husband literally had to yell at times to hear eachother across the table. There was also a large group that was situated in an area that was near the washrooms and due to the group size and people mingling, you had to fight the crowd just to go to the restroom. Also found a film in my martini glass that produced a black residue on my nail when I tried to remove to see what it was. The server was apologetic and removed the drink from my bill, however it was quite displeasing and drove me to inspect every utensil, plate, glass, etc for the remainder of the meal.
As always the food and service were outstanding. Despite being packed to the rafters, the servers were attentive and the food was excellent. The feature Greek ribs were so yummy (I want the recipe) and mushroom risotto with the sirloin was heavenly goodness. The GM made us feel super welcome and we will definitely be back!
The space is great, very good service. We had four different dishes all were awful.
Amazing food and amazing service! They went above and beyond!! We will be back again soon!
Good quality ingredients, reasonably priced, interesting cocktails - would definitely go again.
Have typically had a good experience at Elbow Room. This past time, service was slow, drinks were delayed, and food was luke warm.
Elbow Room was a great pick we enjoyed the service and lovely atmosphere and the food was fantastic. Flavourful and interesting without over reaching. We really enjoyed ourselves.
My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. The service was very attentive and friendly. The small plate portions were a generous size and delicious. The large plates were excellent and the salmon was cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend this spot and will be visiting again.
We ate on the upstairs deck as it was a stellar day. Our meal was the lunch affair and was delicious and good value. The beignets were the icing on the cake - both figuratively and literally. I just wish that the parking was more accessible. Our service was just okay - nothing outstanding but the food was great. It was a nice way to spend a lunch with a friend.
Excellent, we sat on the patio which was lovely!
Expected great, received meh. Hamburger bun was awful, way too crumbly, and not enough sauce. Waitress (Ivana) was not attentive and seemed disinterested altogether. Disappointing experience overall for my step dad’s birthday dinner. Waitress knew it was his birthday and didn’t even offer a desert menu.
Elbow Room is an excellent restaurant with great food & drink options. Menu changes fairly regularly so there is always something new to try, one of my go to restaurants.
I’ve been here twice now and the food is amazing!!!! The staff are all very pleasant and know the menu, and they offer GREAT a advice on what their favourites are!
Went out for our 12th wedding anniversary and had a very nice evening. The food was great, the drinks were good and the patio was very comfortable, warm, not too sunny but bright and airy. The food was outstanding and was reasonably priced for the quality. The dessert was fantastic! All in all a great restaurant.
We Sent my wife’s dish back and then it still wasn’t right. When the plates were cleared it was obvious we hadn’t touched my wife’s, but still got charged. Very poor experience.
The service was unbelievable. We received our brunch promptly and our coffee was constantly being topped up. Will definitely go back! I had the breakfast bowl and it was amazing. My wife and mother both had the avocado toast as recommended by our server, with a side of poached eggs and they raved about it. The portions weren't overwhelming, which was a good thing considering at most breakfast places you leave feeling overfed, or at least I do.
The Elbow Room is one of my favourite places in Calgary. Lovely ambience, great patio but most importantly FANTASTIC food.
Great food and great service. They had a chefs special dish of Indian flair on their salmon plate and was delitious!
What a great spot! I loved that the music was at a low level so I could actually have conversation with the people I had brunch with.
The food was great.
A glitch in the kitchen meant our order took long to place and arrived at the table a bit staggered. I'm sure this was a one-off. I'll definitely go back.
Worth the trip! Sea and Land is absolutely fantastic
Overpriced food, average ambiance and greeting hostess service which was very questionable (waiting service was OK) + loud music didn't help to enjoy the moment.
Went to Elbow Room for my wife's birthday. We had a little mix up on our seating arrangements but the staff was very accommodating even thought the place was booked solid. Everyone was very friendly and worked hard to ensure we had a great experience. The food was amazing and exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere is great. Will definitely be back.
Most amazing brussel sprouts ever!!! And the sharing plate experience is incredible :)
My friend and I chose the lunch experience and we were not disappointed. We each had three different items and tasted all of them. The wine was excellent and our server was very friendly and helpful in making our choices.
We had a wonderful time. Food was excellent. Music and decor on point.
I hope my last meal will include the crisp Brussels Sprouts! I've had them a number of times and they are never a disappointment. Elbow Room works for any occasion. Enjoy!
Ambience is gorgeous and great energy however service is incredibly slow
Went for lunch on a Saturday really looking forward to the Elbow Room experience that I have enjoyed many times before!! Was slightly disappointed not seeing that option on the weekend lunch menu especially my favourite item the crispy Brussels Sprouts was also missing from the weekend menu. Was pleasantly surprised with the brunch that I had and really enjoyed every moment at the restaurant!! Would definitely recommend to anyone that wants to try a new restaurant in Calgary!!
Ps. Their cocktails are amazing!!
We were visiting from out of town and selected a location nearby from the internet. Had never been and also asked a friend who had not been but had heard it was good. So with moderate expectations we went and enjoyed it immensely. The food was excellent and the drinks selection was good. Pricing for two was just under $100 including drinks and tip.
The service was very good. I counted at least 8 servers. We were near the serving station and the food seemed to arrive regularly so I am sure no one was waiting long. For a Friday evening that seemed to be good.
I would gladly return and would certainly recommend it to others for its quality food and its moderate pricing.
Disappointed in the service and the 90’s techno music that played on the patio...all night.
One of my absolute favorites! Amazing service and food every time!
Elbow Room 1st Anniversary!
First experience very good. Only concern would be that it was really cold. Next time I'll remember to bring a sweater along.
Food is fantastic, we usually just have the small plates and share. The shrimp is an amazing dish.
Restaurant is always quite chilly though. Pack a sweater because the food is well worth it.
This place was great! Right in our neighbourhood and we hadn’t tried it yet. We had the burrata.. that was the only meh for us. It was fine but the flavours just weren’t for us. The tiger prawn and Brussel sprouts were amazing! We also had the striploin for two. It was great, only downside was the asparagus was a bit over cooked. That being said the overall was awesome! I’ve recommended this place to a bunch of people. Server was great, I could see the manager or owner talking to a few tables, which was great. We will be back! Also, pop rock cake pop... bomb!
Great place to try many dishes so go with a big group!! Delicious!!
Food was outstanding and Server was great. Will be going back.
Had a great first experience at the Elbow Room after a bit of an unexpected start. Made reservation on Open Table and needed to select seating type; counter, standard or patio. Pushed our dinner an hour later so we could have standard seating. Arrived at the restaurant to be seated on the patio, which was not an option for us (it was 35degrees out). Kindly asked for indoor/standard seating as reserved and the hostess left us upstairs without a word. Not sure what happened but we were then seated by another person accordingly. Not sure the point of asking where we want to seat if the info isn’t relayed or noted by the restaurant.
We we enjoyed eating on the patio. The food was tasty, the server was very pleasant.
The food was good at lunch. I had a margarita which was bad. Lots of lime juice but no other flavours came through. On a 1 to 10 scale the margarita was a 4.
