Felt like I we were sitting in a urinal.stk. for$44 should melt in mouth not chew chew like a train.burger was half the size of bun and twice as thick.empty place and put us right next to a family table with kids not great seating .
Nice nice servers and great food. No cool music could be heard upstairs but that did make it easier for talking.
Beautiful patio !! Maybe best in city ! South facing , west wind protected ! Beer and mussels ! So good !! Wine a bit pricey for 5 oz pour !
I love the elbow room! Lovely dining experience and the food is always delicious.
Very nice surroundings. The patio was just opened but we chose to sit inside. Food was delicious, especially the beignets!
Our server was attentive and provided great service. He suggested his favorite dishes and we ordered them. He was right. He even gave us some lollipops to celebrate a birthday. But it got busy at the end of the meal and he didn’t offer more hot water for our tea or more coffee. Shrimp appetizer was delicious. Lamb was very good but was delayed in arriving so the other guests had to sit and wait until final dish arrived. Scallops were good. Duck appeared to be overdone but guest did not say. Hamburger was dry as they do not grind their own beef so it has to be served well done. Bananas foster was excellent. Overall a very enjoyable evening.
The food is just DELICIOUS!!
Elbow Room is my favourite restaurant in Calgary right now! I love the lunch tasting plate. What a great idea! And serving it with a little extra something (fresh doughnuts on the day I was there) makes you feel like you're being treated well!
Amazing food and amazing service! I highly recommend trying Elbow Room!
Great food and drinks in a fun and casual setting.
For an upper end restaurant, the food and service didn’t live up to expectations. I found my duck to be over cooked and my girlfriends steak wasn’t grilled as requested. The appetizers were fantastic, but main courses were a disappointment. Our server would be appropriate serving at Hudson’s but not ready for a finer dining experience. I won’t be returning.
We had heard good things and were excited to go to the Elbow Room for dinner. We had a reservation, but still had to wait over a half hour for our table. When we got our food, it came in stages - someone ordered an appetizer as part of a main course, but it came with the appies, not the main course food. When the mains came, out of 5 meals, three of the steaks were done wrong, the salmon was cold, the pasta was served over 5 mins later than the rest of the meals.
Two of the steaks went back and were comp’d. The manager said that all of our meals would be covered, butt that turned out not to be the case at the end of the meal. We also received a $200 gc for our trouble, which was nice, but I think we would have all preferred to just have a good meal without any hassles. Not sure even with the gc that we will go back.
Our Server Gina was fantastic. The three course dinner special was very good value and delicious.
I loved the Seafood chowder. It was a lovely evening. It was quite noisy as they were busy and hard to hear the people at opposite ends of the table, we had eight at our table. We sat on main level. I will definitely return.
The food was delicious, we shared the roasted brussel sprouts which were so good plus we all had the 3 course feature that they had on for Dine Out week (or whatever it is called) - very good and definitely enough food. Our server, Dailyn, was so nice and awesome at his job!
I personally enjoy the second floor for business lunches - it’s a little quieter than the main floor. The decor is simple and refined, reflected in the food too. Nothing overly fancy, just good fresh ingredients in unique combinations that are super tasty. A favourite place of mine for sure.
Tiger Prawns are a must! Upstairs dining was a more cozy environment and less busy than the downstairs dining area. Faster drink service as well. Would certainly go back again.
The Elbow room was recommended to us, and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, served in a great atmosphere, and the restaurant is really small and enjoyable. We would highly recommend the Elbow Room.
Elbow Room is a great place to meet friends for drinks. The food is good and the ambiance nice.
The lobster and chive eggs bennie were very yummy! My tea wasn't hot... Our service was excellent! I have a hard time hearing with background noise and it was a bit loud! We have been before and will certainly be back!
Flavours were okay but the prawn tacos might as well not have had any prawns/shrimp in them. There were 4 in each of the two tacos but they were very very small which means they had no flavour or texture to enjoy. Very disappointing.
The food was so good. Chef was friendly. Kitchen Staff were superb! It was my son’s 21 birthday. Unfortunately, the service was slow and no any surprise and delight.
Service was extremely slow, despite many servers lingering around. Food was good but nothing I would rave about or go back a second time for.
Not rushed to order or leave when finished - much appreciated!
Had an amazing business lunch here this week. Service was great and food was quick but with no compromise on quality and presentation! Love it! Keep up the great work!
My first visit; lunch options were perfectly portioned. The $22 lunch special with 3 choices, each dish was fresh, hot, full of flavour. Servers were very welcoming. Definitely going back!
Had a really interesting lunch with some very creative flavours.
Had visitors from out of town and also wanted to take people there that have never been there before. Great service and food. Thank you very much for making our guests experience a wonderful time.
First time dining but will certainly not be the last. Everything was wonderful.
Celine and Spencer were extraordinary servers. Elbow Room clearly prioritizes the recruitment of top talent as ambassadors for its equally impressive establishment. Can't wait to come back!!
Great space, cool decor, fantastic service, excellent food.
I really enjoy the place. Consistently good and innovative.
This was our first time here, there were 4 of us and heard good things. We were seated upstairs, where it has 6 tables and a large seated bar. If you want energy and ambiance, upstairs is not your desired seat. Upstairs Bar tender was great and personable. Our server was not. We waited about 25 min for our first round of drinks and felt like we had to wave her down each time. We ordered 2 orders of the roasted cauliflower, which were stone cold. Both Replaced, but not the same when you eat them alone. I personally ordered scallops ($40) I received 3, 1.5” sized scallops on a bed of very wet and runny risotto with a overly fatty slice of pork belly. Not nice. My husband and friend had steaks, which was so so and nothing to brag about. There are so many amazing places in Calgary, unfortunately this won’t be one we return to.
Cayley served us and she was lovely!
We have dined here several times but this visit was disappointing. I had the salmon, which was good but the portion was tiny, and even the vegetable servings were small.
My wife had the sirloin, which was tough; I tried it as well and it was indeed chewy.
The dishes were not inexpensive, so considering the portions sizes, the value proposition is lacking.
The service was good and it is a fun and lively atmosphere in what was a very busy restaurant. I hope they aren't taking success for granted.
Overall the atmosphere and food presentation was good. The steaks tasted good but my wife's was overcooked and cold. Our server was so, so. The wine was excellent.
Excellent loved everything. Server forgot about us a few times and the 16oz seemed more like 12 maybe because we eat too much but otherwise perfect night
We will recommend and come back. It’s nice to have a spot like this out of the core.
It was nice,.celebrating valentines day with my lovely wife,.
Really good food, great portioning, beautiful presentation
Little slow with the service at times but over all good
