Given what we'd heard from others, we had high expectations for our first visit to elea. Unfortunately, they were not met. Some of the food was very good but others such as the spreads were average compared to other Greek restaurants in New York and some of the entrees were greatly over salted. The service was friendly but very unreliable. We went long stretches with wine and sometimes water glasses not being refilled. We liked the ambiance but doubt that will be enough to bring us back.

Service and food were excellent. The grilled octopus is a must! The whole party enjoyed their meal and we could actually hear each other talk, unlike so many places nowadays. A plus was the manager who made sure to go to each table asking how the meal was.

I’ve been here before for brunch and dinner and the service was great. I don’t know if they were just having a off night but our waiter was non existent we had to flag down other waiters to get more drinks and asked three different ppl to get the check.

Elea never fails to please the palette or the patron. This is a neighborhood gem and one of my favorites. Farro Islands Salmon and Grilled Shrimp are perfection. Go early if you prefer quiet dining. The DJ starts the evening party at 9pm. Always fun and lovely no matter what time you do!

Elea is a wonderful place to meet friend(s) for dinner. Lively, but not so noisy that you can't have a conversation. Very attentive service. Food is very tasty and, if your friends like to share dishes, there are so many good options.

Love Elea... the Cretan Negroni is a great cocktail to start. Their fresh pita bread is maybe the best I've ever had. We have yet to find something on the menu that isn't fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Nice neighborhood spot! Good service. Food was fine, but not hugely memorable. The dips (hummus, fava bean, and a third I can’t remember) all basically tasted the same. The spanakopita was decent. The mousakka was okay, we took the leftover to go and never got around to eating it, so you can conclude it wasn’t hugely memorable. We were there to celebrate a birthday, and it was surprising that they did nothing even though we didn’t order dessert—not a candle, not a complimentary cookie, nothing. Would’ve gone well with the “neighborhood gem” brand if they’d made some gesture. But overall quite nice for the sparse west 80s.

We went to Elea to celebrate my husband’s birthday; the experience did not disappoint. The food was exquisite, the staff helpful and the service prompt, friendly and professional. The evening was a delight; a lovely setting, delicious food, superb selection of wines and after dinner liquors; it does not get better than that!

I have been wanting to return for the consistent amazing Greek food and friendly staff. The specialty drinks were delicious and complicated, made perfectly, and the salads, Elea chips, chicken souvlaki and calamari were delicious. The staff were attentive and lovely. I look forward to returning soon!

This is a treasure to have in the neighborhood and many of the people who return are looking for good food cooked and served in an innovative manner by a service staff with an interest in food. The atmosphere in the restaurant is one of good cheer and warmth as if one were going to Mama's kitchen. A lovely experience with a good wine and liquor selection.
