About Elephant & Castle - Toronto King St.
The old Union Jack behind the bar may be faded, but spirits are soarin’. And why not? This is after all, a laugh-out-loud, slap-on-the-back, greet-you-with-a-roar, English-style pub. Where the traditions are as rich and warm as the Shephard’s Pie. And where the stories flow as freely from the tongue as the beer flows from the taps.
Since 1977, Elephant & Castle has rolled out its well-worn welcome mat to anyone and everyone looking for a cracking good time. Whether that means cheering on your beloved team or chatting up your mates or simply savoring fresh made eats with a bit of jolly old England folded in here and there, this is the pub where you get your brit on.

Elephant & Castle - Toronto King St. Ratings and Reviews
Had the Bangers and Mash, very good. Nice glass of rose wine and a great catch up with a friend. Good service and reasonable prices.
Good comfort food. Service was good. Can recommend poutine and Mac and Cheese
We attended the National Geographic Society presentation at Roy Thomson following our lunch.. Very enjoyable
The venue is nice and spacious with nice lighting and cool throw back music. Our server was really friendly and quick. The drinks were delicious. The food was a little cold when served though
This was a post-matinee performance at The Royal Alexandra Theatre. It was quiet on arrival and filled up over the 90 minutes we were there. Service was quite good even though our server appeared to be inexperienced. She was friendly and helpful and service was quick. The food could have been a little hotter, but the flavour was there.
You will be surrounded by televisions showing sports of interest hoping you like the one selection provided. Price was reasonable, if slightly high, but this is a high rent district in the heart of the entertainment district, so to be expected.
All in all, recommended.
Ambience was very good. Service and quality of food was really good. Not much of a wait time. everything went well. In total very good experience.
Food & Service was very good prior to going the Royal Alex !!
Excellent service. Piping hot food. The Bread Pudding dessert is a must!
We find the food is often warm but not hot. I have ordered Chicken Pot Pie and each time I say to the server “please make sure it is hot in the middle” and it comes out luke warm. This time we ordered eggs benedict and it was barely warm. If the kitchen could make the food hot, it would be a favourite place to eat.
It makes sense to make reservations before the rush hour. Staff pleasant and courteous. Toronto class food. Location ideal.
No cream available for our coffee. Other than that everything was fine.
Service was terrible and slow
Amazing pub with amazing staff. Best fish and chips that I had in a long time!
Great place to go after work or hang out with friends and enjoy good pub food and a Mexican Bulldog or two!!
My friend and I had a lovely lunch before the theatre. Will go again next month
Nice place with an English style pub feel to it. Would repeat ... good for a few pints.
Unreal vibes and the service was phenomenal, we were having so much fun we didn't even realize our food had taken so long to come out that the manager came over and apologized and gave us a 25% discount and free dessert! Oh and the food was phenomenal
Always a great time at E&C, never disappoints and the service is on point.
Try the Shepherd's Pie. Trust me on this. It paired perfectly the the Barking Squirrel beer. The service was exceptional.
A day in Toronto, our servers were friendly and our food was excellent!
I was impressed to have made reservations on Open Table, and a receive a confirmation call directly from the restaurant. The hostess who called me also anticipated the need for our business group by asking me if we needed to split the bill. Finally: although our group size was seven (7) and six (6) was the larges table size Open Table would accept, the hostess accommodated us on a high-top table that could comfortably seat our group. Everyone in our group was pleased with the service, quality of food, and value. We will definitely dine at the King Street location in Toronto, if weʻre ever visiting again. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Service was excellent. Staff did a great job balancing positioning patrons to minimize noise levels.
