Eliot & Vine
Oh my goodness the mushroom pasta!!! Mmmm. And the service is top notch!
What a great place. Relaxing, fun, cozy and convenient..
Amazing food and service. Never disappointing. We went for birthday celebrations and my friends were very impressed
Second visit to Eliot and Vine. Overall and excellent experience, would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. This was our second visit to the restaurant and they have stepped up from our previous experience. My new favourite restaurant in the North End of Halifax.
great service, amazing food and drinks. highly recommended.
Great food and great service! Some of the best food we've had in Halifax!
Went for the one dollar oysters at happy hour- great deal! Paired with happy hour wine and beer, and some truffle fries which were Delish. Waiter offered sparkling or still water when we arrived so we chose sparkling, which was tap water with added carbon dioxide I believe - didn’t find out until we paid that it was 6 dollars! Waiter was quiet, not very interactive. Overall good experience. We didn’t stay for entrees so can’t speak to those. When we were finishing up the restaurant was filling with a strong fish scent from the kitchens, like a fish market, which was definitely not appealing but we were on our way out regardless.
The food was excellent, the service was superb, and the restaurant was as pleasant as always.
Excellent food. They seemed to have missed my note on open table that we had dairy free and gluten free persons in our party BUT the chef lept to the challenge and made a wonderful entree. Everyone was thrilled. They were very busy so service was a bit below normal but very friendly and very helpful!
A great meal with fantastic service. It’s really nice to have a high-end dining in a cozy, comfortable setting. So glad to have this restaurant in the neighbourhood.
We had visited E&V once for drinks when they first opened but hadn’t been back since. I’m now upset that I missed so many opportunities for great food! Both the space and the menu are small but thoughtful. The dining room is cosy and beautiful, and you don’t need a huge menu when everything is made this well. So well, I dreamt about the Brussels Sprouts. :)
A great spot for casual fine dining- delicious food made with real and unpretentious ingredients. Our server award personable and attentive without being overbearing. A lovely atmosphere for a long overdue girls night.
We were 3 couples which included 2 sisters and a cousin. It was valentines but also Ron and my anniversary- 11th & 8th - commonlaw and marriage. First time at this restaurant which feels like a Neighbourhood restaurant, though first time visit. The service was friendly, relaxed and pleasant. We didn’t feel rushed. We were able to carry a conversation which was pleasant. The food was excellent. A couple of us had the mushroom pasta, lamb, and not sure what the rest ordered. Everyone was very pleased with their order. Our conversation was lively but not disturbing to others - I don’t think. The owner came to thank us for coming before we left, a personable and nice gesture. I would love to come back with a group of people or just my hub and I. I really appreciate being able to talk without strain.
A great time. The menu changes, but the food is always perfect. The service is wonderful. Thanks Phil.
Overall we felt that the experience was not up to the norm we have previously experienced. We were seated promptly. Noise level was better than usual. Placed our orders - 1 lamb shank and 1 chicken carbonara. Two chicken carbonara arrived. Order returned and about 10 minutes later the correct orders arrived; waitress took full ownership for mixed up order. Carbonara was excellent. Lamb shank itself was very dry - cooked in a microwave maybe. The pillaf with the shank was excellent.
Based on past experiences we will be back.
Always excellent food, quality, service and ambiance.
Fantastic experience. Food and staff were great. Tuna and Brussels sprouts were amazing sharesables and the salmon was outstanding.
Our evening business meal was everything we had hoped for. We especially appreciated the relaxed service that allowed us to work as well as enjoy uor meal in relatively quiet atmospheres.
We were there when you first opened and tried again recently. Tremendous improvement in quality and quantity of food. Excellent service. Thanks so much. We look forward to our next visit!
Date night was prefect at the hidden Gem in the West/North End!
Great service and the food was amazing.
If you have not been to Eliot&Vine make a point to try this great Restaurant
The abbreviated menu offered some odd items. The only pasta on the menu was $50. Excessive for HRM. Prices were a little too high.
Friendly helpful service, food was great! They were able to accomodate my needs for a low carbish meal.
New Year’s Eve. We booked late so were seated in the back room so while quiet, missed the ambiance of the main dining room.
First time visiting this establishment. it is a smallish, modern decor restaurant, with good wait staff. Food was only ok with respect quality, and price point was a bit high for the pasta offerings. Our server indicated that the menu had recently changed, and perhaps the earlier version provided better quality and value.
The chicken pasta dish I had seemed to lack much identifiable chicken, but had an abundance of hard brown bits of something that would get stuck in your throat. My wife's pasta dish was quite good, nice level of spice, but priced a bit on the high side for the content.
Was looking forward to trying this spot, and was hoping for a good experience. Unfortunately not somewhere I would try again.
Food was above average, good presentation, balance and overall thoughtful dishes. Menu is short and concise but lacks a special. In a coastal city based restaurant it would have been nice to see some more local offerings. Most elements were good with some very good (short rib).
Overall would recommend.
Amazing service, food, ambience and all around hospitality. Thank you for a perfect evening we will be back very soon!
Consistently delicious! Excellent service. Good variety in food and wine.
Great food and service, but seating is awkward and uncomfortable
The food was delicious. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The ambiance was great.
Divine - Our server was pleasant, knowledgable, and very attentive. The food was exquisite!
Had a small birthday dinner with family & friends. The food is always incredible. We had such a great night & everyone loved their meal!
Never disappoints ! Love the new Fall Menu. Can’t comment on the bill as our friends treated. However the food was delicious. Oysters, tuna, shrimp and the pasta fungi. Exceptional!
We couldn’t have asked for a better dinner. We found that the flavours in each dish were very well balanced, and displayed a level of professionalism that can be lacking in other restaurants. There was nothing gimmicky or over the top, just well thought out and well prepared food from a smartly curated menu. Drink selections were equally pleasing. A good selection of cocktails to start, and a wine list that is brief but interestingly varied. We will certainly be returning.
Meals were served hot which is very important.
However, for Italian mains, they could have been larger portions and should have definitely included some bread. Especially true of European style menus.
The coffee was excellent!
Wonderful staff, great atmosphere and amazing food dishes.
Great food away from a downtown location. Prices are reasonable and attitude is laid back without the casual attitude getting in the way of good and timely service.
We had dinner for our wedding anniversary this past weekend. Our server (I think his name was Paul?) was outstanding. Friendly, and attentive, without being overbearing. The food was incredible, the pre-dinner cocktails delicious, and the wine was fabulous.
I have spent my Monday telling co-workers all about Eliot and Vine. Hands down, my favourite meal out in Halifax in years!
The menu changes but this week it seemed it was all pasta!
This was not our first meal at Eliot & Vine. We have been dining there since they opened. It is such a comfortable place to have a superb meal - choosing from an ever changing menu of inventive culinary treats. The Maitre d' is charming and a notable sommelier whose sense of hospitality is unmatched in my experience. A+ recommendation for fine dining!
The Naan starter was so tasty, we loved it. The mains were also very tasty and fresh with local ingredients. I believe the menu changes frequently throughout the year. Would definitely recommend trying it out.
