Elora Mill Restaurant
Penstock Lounge 11am-10pm
The three of us enjoyed a delicious lunch and we were all impressed with the spectacular view and the beauty of the renovated inn. Our greeter and server both gave excellent, cheerful service to our small party; they were extremely attentive! We will be coming back.
Certainly a stunning place to eat view spectacular. A bit high priced for the amount of food although the food was delicious.
Very impressed with the whole experience. Great place to go for a special occasion.
A delicious meal! We had the fixed price menu and it was amazing. The pumpkin soup was amazing. We did have to get dessert to go because we were so full but it was delicious after!
Provided a wonderful setting for a special date, excellent and friendly staff, though they are still working out the kinks in their system.
As is typical for such fine dining establishments the tastes ,presentation and overall quality of the food is beyond reproach but one shouldn't expect absolute value for the price with portions seemingly meant to tease rather than fulfill the appetite. The restoration of the premises has been pulled off beautifully and really is a gem for Elora!
Everything was great. Only is they need to better organize the shuttle to and from the parking lot on other side of river.
We went for our anniversary and it was Great. They surprised us with a couple special treats and made the evening memorable.
Delicious food. Friendly service. But didn’t get our servers name at the beginning. I had to ask. Great table (31). Was very pleased to have Chef John and GM Geoffrey stop to say hello I feel like a part of the family 😊
Excellent experience. Food was amazing. Service was prompt and very friendly.
Sy, our waiter, was very knowledgeable. All suggestions great and chefs prepared picture worthy dishes.
Food was tasty but not guite as good as expected. Noise level was high in terrarium so wouldnt recommend for a romantic night out.
The refurbished Elora Mill added a much needed remake of an out favourite. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great meal in a relaxed countryside setting.
the variety of mouth watering food was great, it was very hard to make a decision. The service was exceptional and the food was amazing. Plus the view during the meal was spectacular. I would highly recommend for any occasion.
Anniversary dinner for us, pre-baby dinner for our family. Service was amazing. Food was amazinger.
The decor, scenery, and ambience all complemented the decadent menu perfectly
We will be back!
A Sunday early evening dinner. Lovely view from our table by the windows; great service with many staff seeing that we had everything that we required. One of our party of three chose the four-course dinner option, one of us the four-course with wine-paring, and one a la carte. Everyone was satiated, and left smiling. The food was very good; the menu choices were not extensive, but enough for our tastes. The wine parings, reportedly, were excellent. The desserts are well-worth the indulgence.
Our last meal at this location was 11 years ago, but this is completely new, and extensively refurbished. A lady at a grand piano played just inside the entranceway, lending to the ambiance. It is obvious that a great deal of thought went into the top-down renovations. A short walk to the back of the restaurant will allow you to see the kitchen in action through large windows.
Downtown Elora still has some construction going on, with new sidewalks being installed to compliment the Mill. A pedestrian bridge is being constructed across the river beside the Mill. It will connect to the parking lot on the other side. There were two shuttle busses operating from the parking lot to the restaurant, and back. It saves a five-minute walk around the construction, but then you might miss the outdoor works of art that dot the downtown area.
All three of us enjoyed the experience and will return in the future. With the re-opening of the Mill, in future expect that the town will provide an option to Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Had a great night, service was fantastic. Will be back again for the next special occasion
Good food if limited in choices. We had an excellent server ( sorry but I recall her name).
This new incarnation of the Old Mill is fabulous. The views, ambiance, food and service were all first rate. completely worth the trip from Toronto. Next time i'm going to stay the weekend and use both the spa and the hotel pool area. Well done on the makeover!
Excellent service! Great food presentation. The vanilla cannelloni dessert was really good.
The view was spectacular. The food was delicious. We were a foursome of ladies, we all ordered the same lunch.
Shepherd Pie. Very good but portions were far too large. We wished we could have had a half
portion. Could not finish it. Perhaps that size portion is great for a man’s appetite but certainly was
too large for ours.
Sasha looked after our needs and was very nice. L.D.
Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Justin greeted us, our table was not ready so we were redirected to the lower bar, where Damon was a great host. Once seated in the dining room, Liz was our server. We have nothing but wonderful things to comment about our experience. Justin even revisited us, and offered to take us on a tour of the facility, on a “slow day”, as we live locally. Our food was absolutely amazing and plentiful. Go for the four course meal plan...take your time... enjoy your company, the atmosphere, and the views. That is how this Gem is meant to be experienced. Thank you for a wonderful anniversary dinner.
Sleek professional service. Entrees let down by lack of garnish and/or vegetables to brighten the plates and add variety for the palate. The dining room overlooking the gorge is stunning.
Great service, great environment. Food was not up to the standard we would have expected for a higher end restaurant like this. The duck entreee I had was over cooked and despite it being listed as duck breast on the menu it was one small piece of breast meat and another that was a combined chunk of small pieces of duck that had been fried and so it was also overcooked. My wife’s salmon was over cooked as well. Also, it is expected that the portions will be of a moderate size, but unless one orders all four courses there are gaps in the offering. For example, the entrees has hardly any vegetables and no starch.
This was our first trip back to the Elora Mill since it reopened and it was simply fantastic. Great menu. Great staff. The service level from Liz was simply exceptional in every way. The staff appeared to work really well together. From arrival to departure we felt welcome. Thanks for a great night. We will likely become regulars 😀!
We had impeccable service from our tour guide Murray, who greeted us when we arrived, visited with us after our meal, showed us the bathrooms and gave us a tour of the building and a suite. Murray went over and above for us and made the experience amazing even though the food was lousy and flavours were bland.
The ambiance is good as well as the service, however my daughter has a nut allergy and we did not expect rhe bread to have nuts in them and even more surprised that there are no orher alternative bread that does not contain nuts.
Excellent gem! Would definitely recommend this restaurant to others and if you're able to get a view it's even that much more beautiful.
Superb service and food. Already planning our return with family!
The food was excellent and the service was absolutely first rate. Campbell, Sommelier and Conor MacGregor really made the night top five of my whole life (and I've had a lot of great days).
We'll be back, for sure
They need to step up with food portion and variety . If we didn't ask three times for bread we would be hungry after spending $260 for 3 of us .Big disappointment. How could you serve Thanksgiving dinner offering chicken and no turkey ? We will never come back :-(
Honestly this place was amazing ! It was our first wedding anniversary and they really made it special. They gave us great seating and complimentary chamagne and sparkling lemonade because i dont drink. The waiter was amazing great at chit chat. My only complaint is my main (the steak and braised beef) came with barely any polenta maybe two table spoons. My husbands meal came with so much potato and i dont understand why i wouldn't get at least a half cup since polenta is so cheap and my meal was nearly 50 dollars. Anyways everything else was amazing the petit four finisher was adorable and tasty ! My husband says the cocktails were also very delish and they never let our water go down to half ! There was also a lovely amuse-bouche that really got us ready for the meal .
Food was a disappointment. Duck was terrible and so was the Raviolo both lacked imagination.
Great food and wine pairings. Cute town and lovely venue.
Only complaint was that we were seated 15 minutes late after being on time for our reservation and food service was delayed by about 5 minutes in between wine pairings so often we were already half way through our wine by the time the food arrived.
I made reservations for lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday. The restaurant gladly complied with my request for a great table with a beautiful view of the falls (that was the main reason we drove from Toronto). The food was very good, and we particularly enjoyed the desserts. The overall experience was excellent.
Our entire experience at the Mill from beginning to end was so very delightful. The food, the setting, the people, made for a lovely anniversary dinner. We will be back💗
BeautIful setting, wonderful food, attentive professional service. The edible art desserts were outstanding. Two minor areas improvement suggestions, the shepherds pie was delicious but large, and the salmon was delicious and a smaller than expected portion. Restaurant overlooking the water was wonderful but the stone walls means it was noisy. We will be back and recommend this restaurant to everyone. Thank you.
Were locals looking to connect somewhere to have a conversation. It was perfectly quiet in the Penstock lounge. We were the only people there on a Monday eve and our host was super! The prices were a bit too high but we ate and drank (we walked home) and it was certainly tasty. $21 for a burger (double) and fries! Good selection for drinks.
We were visiting from Boston, had just stayed at an AirBnB in Mansfield ON and were then staying at the Elora Mill Hotel. In Mansfield, we went to two great restaurants but this one at the Elora hotel was THE BEST. We were with friends we haven't seen for awhile so it just added to the great night. The solarium room in the dining room, overlooked the rushing river below and everyone who waited on us that night was professional, pleasant and excellent at what they did. It's a little pricey but for an event or a celebration, you'd definitely want to be there. We will always remember that night and hopefully we will be back there in the future.
The view was amazing, the service excellent. The food however is not up to par with the pricing and venue.
