Elora Mill Restaurant
The food was amazing and the view was spectacular. The service was quick and very knowledgeable.
The food was very good. We were seated at a table with a great view. The server (Carolyn) and the hostess went out of their way to make us feel comfortable.
The view and the ambience was wonderful. The soup I had was highly salty. The pasta dish was okay. The schnitzel was a bit too crispy and burnt. The fish was delicious and the vegetarian burger are good choices as well as the pear salad. Cocktails were delicious and presented well.
We the wild boar, tortelloni and a steak with a recommended Californian wine “Justin”. All very good. We would normally play a game of who won the table but all dishes were done to perfection.
I live in Elora and have taken many family members there for lunch and on Saturday, we thorougly enjoyed ourselves...the food we had was wonderful and the Sauvignon Blanc we ordered with lunch was excellent. Thank you.
Great place for a formal dinner. The views from the river side room are spectacular outlining Eloras unique river cutting through the limestone gorge. The food was wonderful. Some traditional as well as some unique dishes to choose from. Everything was cooked perfectly and plated in an appealing fashion. The service is far superior from anything in the Kitchener, Waterloo or Guelph area. Would always recommend.
First time at the renovated Mill ( was there 16 years ago) Took my wife for Valentine's Wonderful experience. Food and drink was excellent as was the courteous and friendly staff. I'm a local and I will be back. BTW the Old Fashioneds are the best!
Service and ambience were great.
Vegetarian options on menu were lacking. As the facility boasts a small carbon footprint these two facts are contradictory.
Incredible service and delicious food. Will be returning without a doubt, you get more then what you pay for. The entire experience was so great
Staff both upstairs and down were all excellent! The view is to die for and the food excellent.
We will be back as we just purchased a unit in the condos being built across the river.
Excellent food, service and spectacular atmosphere! A lunch made extra special!
Absolute spectacular setting IF you can sit in the area overlooking the gorge. Otherwise it's just a restaurant. The curved seating area is very uncomfortable especially if you have back problems. Parking on the Mill side is atrocious. Had to park 6 blocks away. There is parking on the other side of the gorge but the web site does not mention this. The meal was good but lukewarm.
We started with the goats cheese which was so good I could have filled up on just it!! For mains, I had the wild boar and my husband had the osso buco tortellini, both were amazing. Service was impeccable and the view was to die for.
Amazing food and view
This is our second time at the mill & the food, service & atmosphere is suburb! It will be our "go" destination for celebrations etc.
The food was exceptional - from table bread and appetizers to dessert. Service was prompt and professional - the server knew the menu inside and out. I also really like knowing their steak comes from their local farm in Flamborough. We reserved early enough in the evening to ensure we got a seat overlooking the falls - it was beautiful and added tremendously to the experience! I look forward to returning and next time hopefully staying in the attached hotel!
Great food. Great service. A little pricey. Will be back.
Had a wonderful evening. Had drinks at the penstock lounge to start and dinner in dining room after. Bar and dinner personal very accommodating and personable and exceptional food. We are from the area and had friends from out of town. They were very impressed and we all had a very enjoyable evening.
A thank you to all the staff and we will be sure to visit again.
Great atmosphere if you’re looking for a nice dinner. I recommend asking to be seated by the window so you get the nice view.
I ordered the duck. I wasn’t a big fan. Tasted more like pulled pork with some bbq sauce. We also got the tangerine brûlée for dessert which was phenomenal.
Our server was good, seemed sort of awkward. But nice nonetheless.
Overall I would recommend this place, but be ready to pay a high price!
Great girls brunch! Thoroughly enjoyed the food, great service and lovely ambience.
Beautiful setting, staff was excellent and food was delicious.
Needed a Short Getaway
My husband and I wanted to get away for a night. We had business in the area so decided to stay at the Elora Mill Inn and have dinner at the restaurant. It was perfect. The food was exceptional. The service was wonderful and the night time view of the gorge in its icy glory was spectacular. The next morning we had a terrific breakfast in the restaurant before spending the day at the spa, being pampered, swimming outdoors in the heated pool, relaxing in the outdoor hot tub while the snow flakes drifted down. The smell of burning firewood everywhere. Hated to leave.
Thank you for making my friend's birthday celebration so special. We loved the view of the falls, the delicious Arctic char lunch, cranberry and pear gelato dessert paired with a lovely glass of wine, as well as the espresso and complimentary petits fours with chocolate message biding Margaret a Happy Birthday.
Always a spectacular view and ambience at the Elora Mill. Celebrated my husbands birthday on a a Thursday night and the service was excellent. Our server was lovely and engaging as were all others that serviced us in various ways. A tad disappointing was our ribeye steaks for the cost I expected it to be cooked as per request. Slightly overdone and not memorable. The mushroom side dish was delicious. We were Inn guests and repeat diners so we will be back. We used to enjoy the wagu beef they previously had on the menu would be great to see that added once again.
View out of this world. Our server was a delight and the food perfect! And we bought one of the Elora Mill condos - so I guess we will be regulars!
We had a wonderful time.
The food was excellent, the ambiance wonderful.
The Elora Mill is a beautiful property, I think the nicest of the Pearl Hospitality Properties. Service was excellent, food was great, and the view for dinner was very nice. Good value for a fine dining location.
Wonderful lunch. Staff were attentive, polite and very friendly. Food was delicious. Ambience outstanding! Highly recommended.
The Elora Mill and views from the Mill are stunningly gorgeous! Our meals were nice but for mains priced at $65+ one would expect spectacular & they were not that.
Birthday Dinner for my mother
I rarely give 5 star reviews - but it was perfect. Exceptional service, table request honoured, and birthday day treats after we said too full for dessert! Yup and I am a local. Thanks
My first visit with my wife for a lunch date.
We shared the cured hamachi cerviche, smoked sturgeon cavatteli and grilled salmon.
Hamachi is my favourite served as sashimi. This was my first experience with this fish cured. While it was a beautiful presentation I found the fish rather smokey and a bit fishy. Not what I expect from a ceviche.
The pasta was cooked perfectly but I struggled to find any trace of the sturgeon. The guest at the next table overhearing my conversation with my wife about the lack of sturgeon advised me that he had quite a large piece of sturgeon on his dish. I realized that I was not served any of the sturgeon on my dish. I notified the server and found her response puzzling. "Would you like us to add it to this?" I would have expected them to prepare a new dish. I made a point to advise the young woman who delivered me the dish the first time of the missing sturgeon and who responded with "interesting".
The salmon again was a nice presentation but was overcooked for a restaurant at this level of dining. I was disappointed and annoyed that I has to wait for more than 5 minutes before I had to flag the server to advise her of the situation. Again I was puzzled with her response "Would you like us to prepare another?"
While the second salmon was cooked as I feel it should have been I was very surprised that no one inquired about my satisfaction until I was have finished.
The server offered a complementary dessert as an apology for our dining experience. Our server was pleasant but I feel was not trained nor guided well by the manager who was present but did not take any action. In fact I felt he avoided eye contact as I passed him on two occasions on the property.
I discovered that executive chef Moto who I know is a excellent chef is no longer with the restaurant. I trust that the hiccups with my food is due to his departure and will be rectified shorty. Having said this I am disappointed how poorly the staff responded to the hiccups.
We have been to the Mill twice now for birthday celebrations and absolutely love it. We greatly enjoy the atmosphere, the service is remarkable and the food spectacular.
We visited the Elora mill for a special occasion and were pleasantly surprised! We had never visited before but were interested upon seeing pictures and loved the look and the ambiance of the restaurant. We were seated close to a fore place that left us feeling welcomed, cozy and very homey during our dinner. The food was the perfect portions and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The pear salad by far was highlight. If we could come back every day just for the pear salad we would! All of the staff was very nice and attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Will definitely visit the Elora mill again and potentially come during the day to better enjoy the landscape and the views from the restaurant windows. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to all of my friends!
Excellent overall !
New Years dinner. Food was good ... not outstanding. Set menu , all was quite salty. Wife got crab shell (3-4 pieces) in her pasta dish. Told waiter and while apologetic they didn’t try to make right by it. Value was not there for the quality of food IMO. Lots of other choices out there.
Not sure if I would try it again. May have been New Years issue ... but ??
Service was great! Food were delicious!
Ambiance is outstanding, scenery from the Solarium is breathtaking, service was impeccable and the food was even better!
Excellent food. Top notch Service. Ambiance out of the world.
