Staff shortages both front of house and kitchen will solve a lot of their problems. The food doesn't scream spectacular, just your average food you would find in a food court. Be prepared to wait. We waited 45 mins for our first items to come out. and it all came out at once no separation of appetizers from mains. If you are in the neighbourhood and craving this cuisine then give it a try. But i would not go out of my way for this.

Ember has a varied menu which includes some North African dishes. Everything we tried was very tasty, well cooked and spiced. We had daal, chicken korma, spinach Baijian (sp?) and eggplant fries, all with rice. I stayed away from gluten :) The prices are comparable to any other restaurant and the food is delicious. plus it's a nice setting, overlooking the Fraser River.

We have eaten here a few times and enjoyed it. The last time we dined here, we were disturbed to realize the bill did not match the prices displayed on the menu. Server did not mention the "price increase" and we did not see the small sticker on the menu that seemingly served as notice. I have nothing against businesses having to raise prices, but this felt like false advertising. Buyer beware- prices listed on the menu are not what you will be charged, and there is no mention of a overall percentage or dollar increase, so it feels pretty arbitrary. Ok food, strange service, and the mystery price increase at the end means that we won't return.

We love going for the food at Embers. It never disappoints. However the service is always slow and rather poor. I seem to always wait an hour for food. The location and view is wonderful. If only the service would improve I would go more often.

With all of the great reviews, we were super excited to try Ember Indian kitchen as a part of Dine Out Vancouver. It was the worst experience ever. All of the food was served cold. At first we thought it was our own fault and that the appetizers were cold as we were taking selfies for Instagram. However, even the mains arrived cold. We let the staff know but were met with shrugs. Initially we actually sent the masala fish back as it looked nothing like the menu picture and was slathered with marinara. Lamb tikka flavours were good, but again cold. We attempted to stay positive. The fish was overcooked, as if it had been sitting out for a while. Half our plates were white rice and naan. Majority of our meals went into takeout bags with the intention to heated up at home, but we were so put off by the experience, we put the food in the bin as soon as we got home. Would not recommend.

I enjoy our neighbourhood restaurant Ember Indian Kitchen. Staff are always friendly and inviting. As always, the food is very good to exceptional. I love their Butter Chicken as well as the Karai Chicken. Restaurant is clean and there is always free parking available in the area. My favourite place to dine.

Great food, our main server (she wore glasses) was friendly & helpful, & naturally we appreciate the gorgeous location. We’ve probably been to Embers 10 times, both for casual meals & various special occasions, but this was the first birthday celebrated there. My only disappointment was that despite advance communication on my part, there was none from Embers about what they’d do for the birthday celebrant. I had to get up from my chair after we’d ordered dessert to remind them, whereupon they suggested putting a candle in the dessert we’d ordered. Then it all went smoothly & was fun. Such a special spot, I hope they address that small gap in communication so we think of Embers for other birthdays & such. We like this restaurant very much.

Ember Kitchen is a must try! The food is delicious and full of flavour, all staff including the owner are attentive and friendly, the decor is upscale warehouse, and the patio is large and peaceful. We had the mogo and grill prawns to start, and butter chicken with garlic naan and mishaka with regular naan as entrees. It was all so delicious we got an order of chicken tikka to go, which was also delicious the next day! 5-star from the service to the food!

Great little hidden spot. As someone not used to Indian food in any capacity, the meals looked and tasted great. Given the summer weather and time of day, the patio seating was perfect for an evening meal. Definitely looking forward to trying more items from the menu, and just eating at the restaurant again in the future!

The food was quite good but it took about an hour and a half to get dinner. Even when we arrived with a reservation, we just stood there about 3 minutes before anyone greeted us and then its was at least 15 minutes until we got water and drink orders. The room and location and patio are very nice. One diner did not like her dinner at all but the rest were satisfied.

Good place with delicious food ! A little pricey and portions are somewhat smaller, but good taste, flavor and fusion of Indian and East African cuisine. Tried their Fish Biryani! a first for me and I was pleasantly surprised with a medium to low spiced but flavorful and tasty biryani with many chunks of cod !!

Local restaurant. Food is usually very good although service has always been slow even from when they opened a few years back. Had a friend visiting from Europe and took her for dinner there. Our waitress was working very hard to cover all the tables and was pleasant with us. Service was slow, but we anticipated that given our history with the restaurant. Appetizers were hot and delicious. Waited a long time for our mains and they were barely luke warm when they arrived. When the manager was sent to our table, he just made excuses, rather than listening and being respectful. But the worse was that when we got our bill, they not only charged us for everything but also included a small cost for what I assume was the takeout container we used for our leftovers! We were appalled. Although location is lovely and close to home we will neither frequent there again nor recommend. We can find equally delicious takeout from Best Bites. Shame on you Ember.
