Overall great experience ; started off shaky we had made a reservation for 8pm arrived at 7:50 and we were told they don’t have any table seating available just chefs high top and sitting downstairs in the full service bar lounge. When i made the reservation i requested standard seating for the restaurant; they tried to convince my party that sitting in the downstairs lounge would be just as good but there was a terrible sewer like smell downstairs that we couldn’t get past. So we decided to sit at the bar while they found us a regular standard table upstairs. Once the siting situation was solved it was a more positive experience . Megan was our waiter and she did a great job . Instead of individual entrees we decided to starters for the table to share . Each one was delicious ; we had beef skewers, duck fat potatoes , and a shrimp dish. They were so good we had two rounds of the dishes

Loved the venue, ambience, service and food. We had the ceviche special and it was so tasty while my wife had the the 1/2 chicken and I had the wagyu steak for entries. Both of those entries were fantastic; the steak had a kick with the sauce they provide with it which I loved. For a side, we rolled with the potatoes and they were fantastic as well. Can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely the best service and tasty food. The menu has something for everyone! Deliciously prepared without being pretentious. The portions are generous and I was lucky to have friends who shared with me. The wagyu beef was tender and served with freshly made blue corn tortillas. The halibut was savory and the lomo saltado knocked it out of the park, stir fried in a delicate soy/oyster sauce. Ember is our new favorite!

Tonight was a treat in practically every way. We loved everything about this restaurant; from the atmosphere, cocktails, starters, entrees and the service. Our server was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and effective. She frequently asked for our specific feedback to share with the chef. We ordered the specials and will rely on the pictures for descriptions since they are not on the menu. Ember is Austin's premier Josper oven experience, and their menu showcases live fire cooking with a Latin flare. Located in the old Seaholm Power Plant off Caesar Chavez with plenty of covered parking, which is bonus downtown. @lunch_on_thursday #lunchonthursday @emberatx

Ember Kitchen is a brilliant! The service is spectacular and the food is delightful. The atmosphere is cozy and it’s located in a part of Austin that is charming and awesome. Literally. As you navigate around as a pedestrian and look up at the incredible buildings that surround you, you will be in awe. The entire experience is memorable.

Amazing. We were late to out reservation so they sat us at the bar. They took great care of us! We ordered the caviar appetizer, scallops, wagyu with the roasted carrots and potatoes sides. The scallops and wagyu were top-notch. We will be coming back here very very soon!

The first time I went it was amazing! The second not so good. They didn’t have a few things from the menu, food was ok, however the service was really good. I hope the next time will be as good as the first one!

Everything about this meal was fantastic! The ambience/atmosphere, the amazing music, the service, drinks and food. There were so many flavors in each dish - it felt like an explosion of taste with each bite. We absolutely loved everything about Ember and will be back!

We got there at 6 and were taken upstairs and seated at the top of the stairs in a middle table between the wait staff room and restrooms so constant traffic. There was no one else up there , one large party having a special dinner but they were in a private area in the opposite corner. Many tables for 4 along the windows. The plug in AC unit was extremely loud….drowned out the music. Other than the seating the food was good. The drinks were good but small. A martini is served in a white wine glass. Service was decent. I noticed about 30 min in that the upstairs filled up - and to my surprise all the 4 person tables were seated with 2 people. So my bad for not requesting another table.

This was one of the few new places we've tried that we walked away knowing we'd come back with friends. The flavor was outstanding, and according to several patrons we didn't even get the best dishes! Can't wait for our second visit.

Our second time there. Food is excellent, but I made reservation 2 months in advance & they initially put us next to the bar. They did move us when we asked. When I made the reservation, it asked if it was an occasion & asked again at confirmation. I said it was an anniversary (45th, BTW). There was absolutely NO mention of this. Why ask? The restaurant is very loud, but that’s to be expected.

Ember kitchen is a pro at the slow cooked meal. Our dinner order took longer than expected, but the staff rallied to keep us taken care of. It was a refreshing human experience and I appreciate them so much!

Great ambiance, easy part of town to get to. The complimentary warm masa corn tortillas with the house made butter are amazing! Very impressed with the range of items the kitchen staff pulls out of the Josper oven. Great house cocktail list. We will return. Phenomenal experience with the food and with our top notch server Megan.

The waitress couldn’t have been nicer, telling us about food items, checking on allergy concerns, and offering suggestions on to try in the menu. It was my birthday so acknowledgments from several staff was appreciated. The meal started off with a free sample of one of their drink offerings. We’ll be back!
