   As I do not eat seafood or beef there was not much for me in terms of protein. The chicken was tasty but all dark meat - no chicken breast. I ate a small plate of food and salad and our bill for the three of us was $450. No value in that. The desserts were picked over - no cakes. It was all puddings. The room was very loud and hot. All the other mothers received a bag with a flower in it and I did not. I didn't think I should ask our server for one - he was not attentive. I would not return again for a buffet nor advise any of my friends to attend.

   When we arrived a bit late were escorted at our seats close to the window which is lovely and we’re asked for our drinks by the staff serving our table which is nice and they are accomodating to answer our inquiries about the drinks,! Will definitely come back again soon.

   Overall it was pleasant. A few things though: 1. The service was a bit clunky. I had to flag down a server for water and whatnot. And they were not at capacity, there just seemed to be a lack of initiative (?). 2. The hostess seating people had a mask on and spoke so low, that we could not hear a word she said as she (very, very, very) slowly led us around the brunch tables. 3. We paid our bill and the SAME server came back 3 minutes later to present us with our bill. So we kindly explained that we had just settled the bill (with him). I’m not sure if more fine dining training is needed, but it couldn’t hurt. Especially when you’re laying out $250 for brunch.

    Surprised to see so much seafood at the cold station so that was the highlight. But I would’ve expected the hot breakfast to be of better quality. The Benedict had an over cooked plastic like egg and the English muffin was rock hard. I could hardly cut it. Beef tenderloin was bland.

    The ambience of the Empire Ballroom is always outstanding. It was very crowed when we were there at the 12.30 seating. I did notice there were no flowers on the tables - this is very unusual for the Fairmont as we are frequent guests for all special occasions as well as the holidays. Thankfully all the guests were dressed appropriately which has not always been the case in the past. There is a dress code - smart casual.

    As always, it was wonderful to enjoy brunch at the wonderful Empire Room. The only complaint is $12/hour for parking - especially on an Easter Sunday. Happy to see the Confederation Lounge's makeover still has that charm. Thanks for a lovely meal.

    Wonderful brunch!! It was busy so they really implemented the time restraints my hubby went to get a last plate of dessert and we were rushed out for the table. Other than this it was fantastic time

    We were a group of 7 adults and were put on a table that would normally fit 4-6 people. With 7 we had to remove glasses to fit our plates to eat. Considering there were other larger tables with 6 people it was disappointing to be 7 on a smaller table. Amazing good, Kyle our server was fantastic ensuring our visit was well taken care of.

    We have been to the Sunday brunch every year for 5 years (minus Covid ) and loved the brunch experience. However this year will probably be our last. Just 7 years ago the brunch was $60/person and included mimosas… then just before Covid it was $60 without mimosas… now it is $85 without mimosas and the buffet is smaller. It still is very tasty and the ambience is great but for that price a person just cannot eat that amount of food for the price. It’s sad as we always enjoyed it and it was a bit expensive but not too bad especially getting a mimosa or two included. Now it’s just not worth the price.

    It has been my absolute pleasure to celebrate very special events in my life; my retirement, family birthdays and most recently, my 70th birthday at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald for brunch. The food was beautifully displayed, more than appetizing and of course plentiful, therefore creating difficulty to choose sparingly so as to sample many delicious items. The chefs and assistants were very inviting. The service of everyone was superb. Upon arrival we were welcomed warmly and shown to the perfect table, #3, by a lovely young lady, Otelia. Our server, Kyle, met our every need; his personal and professional manner was extraordinary. The manager also visited our table more than once to inquire as to how everything was and to have a polite visit. It was he who made certain that I received the most elegant platter of birthday treats; loved the French macaroons! Upon our departure, I was wished Happy Birthday by all of these people and more. I so thank each of you for making this day one for me to reflect upon with very fond memories. I look very forward to visiting the Hotel MacDonald for the next special occasion in my lifetime.     Best brunch in Edmonton I have many to many.The eggs benedict was my favourite it was my first time having eggs benedict.Great selection of food such as pastas,salads, desserts,seafood,meat and almost everything you can think of for breakfast.The only thing I didn’t like was that the ceasar salad dressing was way too garlicky.

    First class service and and attention shown to guests from the first greeting by the valet car parking attendant followed by every person we met. Made welcome by everyone. Food and service was out of this world. Definitely bringing our family back next year. The only way for Christmas dinner n the future. Excellent!!!!

    Lovely, classic experience. Food and service was very good. Didn't love to congestion getting into the ballroom with all of the desserts and guests in the hallway. Suggestion: It would be such a special touch and elevate the experience if a pianist was playing the piano upon arrival, or in the corner of the ballroom. It would really add to the magic and class of this brunch. Seafood assortment was well done. Thank you!
