Enigma is an intimate modern European fine dining restaurant located in the heart of Toronto’s historic Yorkville neighbourhood, nestled on picturesque St. Thomas Street and surrounded by mid-century and modern architecture. We celebrate the best of local and international ingredients, treating them with respect and elevating integrity above all else, by serving a seasonal evolving evening tasting menu.
No need to worry about parking - our valet is available Wednesday - Sunday at a cost of $25 per vehicle.

Visiting Toronto for a birthday weekend, my wife and I settled on Enigma for a special dinner. We were not disappointed! Every single offering of food was remarkable and exquisite, and the service was superb and very friendly. It was expensive - of course - but I did not begrudge a single cent. Even the bread and butter would be a challenge to replicate at home, and the rest of the food could never be experienced in a domestic kitchen. All in all a superb treat. We were delighted!

It was my second time to visit this place. I chose to come back this time to celebrate my friend’s and my birthday, as it was exceptionally outstanding on my first visit. Unfortunately, it was not the same experience this time. The food and presentation were still very good (except the lobster dish was too salty). The servers were amazing. They explained each meal in detail and even made me another cocktail when my original order was not the way I wanted. However, the manager on duty had an attitude that made my friend and I felt unwelcome. When we arrived, they arranged us to sit in a table for 4 ppl. We requested to sit in another table which was more private. He said no other table was available that night and that was the only table available. I would understand if the restaurant was fully booked. However, there were a few tables not being occupied for the whole night. When my friend sat across my seat in our reserved table, the manager instructed my friend not to sit there. She was required to seat beside me. If she wasn’t allowed to sit across me, why bother to set a chair there? The way the manager talked was kinda rude and ruined our experience. This restaurant was considered one of the top notch restaurants in Toronto. We expected to receive better service than this. He continued to gave us attitude the whole night. I would rate only 2 stars this time because of him.

Coming into the restaurant was immediately served before we could even have the time to pick any drinks of look at the wine list. No introduction to the flow or concept of the restaurant just food right away. A bit surprising. Some REAL hits & minor misses where food was ok not great not terrible. But overall palate was on the sweeter side. Dessert was amazing! Take away bag also had some very good treats. Should consider opening a cafe.

Outstanding. We went there for our 31st wedding anniversary and it was perfect in every way. The food was beyond excellent and aesthetically gorgeous. The staff gracious and the entire experience memorable. No better way to celebrate a lifetime achievement. Thank you all.

The combinations of flavours in each course were complex and virtuosic, but never overpowering, with much to communicate to both refined and simple palates. The wine pairings were exquisite - hats off to the sommelier. Over the last 20 years I have dined at all of the best restaurants Toronto has to offer, and Enigma comes out on top. Chef Quinton and his team and his staff are a winning combination. If there is a candidate for the first Michelin star in Toronto, it is Enigma.

My husband and I had such a great experience at Enigma, we just got married and wanted to treat ourselves something special and unique, the service there was outstanding, staff were very engaging and attentive, food was amazing, they also made us feel very special. The decor and the ambiance were great, bathroom was very clean. I would go back there to celebrate any special occasions!

The food is pretty good, high standard. However, I think some of their presentation are too gimicky....By the way, the cocktails are very good. But they should not always put a label of asking customer to choose premium this or primium that of the same cocktail...(extra $ for better quality). They should just make it simple of offering everything premium quality. Afterall, customers who dine in this place should have deep enough pocket.

Toronto’s finest restaurant Enigma Yorkville, brilliant chef Quinton Bennett and his team, the best superb friendly staff are the true stars, subtle food flavors, unmatched in quality anywhere! A foodie heaven evening dreams are made of! My guest was a senior with mobility issues, and all the staff were beyond lovely. Yash, a favorite young chef, came out to greet us. My only wish is that they not ‘spiff’ - too numerous to count attempts to upsell pricy add-ons that would easily have made Toronto’s already most expensive dinner for two move easily from over $600 + to well over a $1,000 + dinner. It is not elegant, and creates low class ‘do you want fries with that’ moments of decision tension for their guests, making the dining host feel cheap to their guest. It makes the owners appear that for them it’s all about the money, casts a huge shadow on an otherwise perfect evening. Left a huge bad taste in my mouth.

I rarely leave reviews but Enigma is truly an experience. It’s hard to replicate excellence but I’ve Dined twice and no other restaurant offers an experience that comes close. I have dined at many of the high end and Michelin star restaurants in Canada and in Europe and Asia, Enigma ranks up there with the best of them. Every aspect of the dining experience was impeccable from the reservation planning to the food and service to leaving the restaurant.
