As always, food and service were phenomenal. Everyone loved their meals. Normally, we are there for business or date night, but this time we were there for my husbands birthday and we brought the kids and grand kids. I was a little worried about bringing the grandkids, but I shouldn’t have been. They were well behaved, and the staff treated us as family. The evening was flawless. Thank you!

Erie Cafe is my #1 steakhouse in Chicago. For years, it was my #2, but because it has retained the "old ways" of operating a restaurant, it rose a spot. I especially like the service provided, and the depth of the menu.

I have always viewed the Erie café as a stellar restaurant, so did not hesitate to choose it as a venue for a celebration with six friends. This experience was very different than the last ones, however. Soup or salad was included with our entrées, but when the waiter asked how we would like our salads, and most of us responded "Caesar", he never mentioned that a small Caesar salad was not included, but would need to be paid for separately. So when the check arrived with an extra $12 a pop, it was quite a disappointment. Had the chicken Vesuvio not been dry, however, and the potatoes that accompanied it tasteless, the whole experience would've been a lot better. To top it off though, not realizing that we could speak Spanish, several of the wait staff were gathered together in the back making derogatory statements about several other guests. Extremely unprofessional and insulting. It will be quite some time before I consider returning.

The food and service were fantastic. We ate at Erie for pre-race dinner before the Chicago Marathon, and the menu was full of great pasta and protein choices. The portions are generous and I HIGHLY recommend the grilled calamari!

Excellent authentic food, always consistent with taste and quality. The ambience at the outdoor patio during summer months is outstanding. Manager Ross is so accommodating and his staff are just lovely. Overall a great experience each time!

Jose our server was very accommodating. We had theater tickets and we got out on time . Food great I had chicken fricassee and my dining partners had veal Marsala . Delish ! Love the potatoes! This place is one our downtown treats!

Very disappointed - our large group ordered 8 steaks and each one was undercooked and rubbery. They were not comped and only wine was provided to make up for it. Also the pastas were undercooked. The service was OK but will not be going back due to 8 steaks being bad and not comped.

Great Caesar Salad and cheese ravioli were accompanied by good pours on the Scotch. The house cottage fries are a delicacy they are known for. Try and sit in the main dining room and far back as the room near the bar is quite noisy.

We had reservations but were still seated in the bar area when the dining room had plenty of tables open. We were with two people in their 80-90's. The noise level was so loud we could not hear each other at our table. The food was nothing special.

Erie cafe is one of my favorite lunch places in Chicago. My favorites are chicken Parma and their home made ravioli. Don’t forget to get their key lime pie.
