Ernesto's East has been serving the Glen Head community for nearly two decades with outstanding Italian cuisine, excellent service and an incredible wine selection. We have tons of specials that roll out each week, some of our favorites are the Tortellini Ernesto, cream based and diced pancetta, sea salt cured Pork Chop, on the grill or Milanese, Grilled Sea Bass with sautéed Shitake mushrooms, Spanish onions & asparagus to mention a few. We have a local following that spans generations, some from our original location in Bayside, Queens some 35 years ago! We are a small restaurant, but treat each and every guest like family, and have a reputation for excellence from the kitchen to your plate, every time! We do private parties and events for before-dinner service from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The minimum guest count is 12 and the maximum guest count is 35. Very good classic dishes. They go to great effort to stand apart. Very good clam sauce….my yardstick, very good bolognaise. They are attentive and watchful that every one is well served. This puts Ernesto’s well above average for the North shore.

Food ok. Service next level horrible. Owner at the bar and didn’t realize our bread never came, and when he ordered service to finally bring us bread it took an addition 10 minutes! food came late. Salad served wrong. Just … not good.

We celebrated my son’s 30th birthday with a wonderful evening at Ernesto’s. Dylan and Cole have done a fantastic job in redirecting this restaurant, and we certainly will be back frequently. The food is truly outstanding, and each of our 10 person group loved their meal. The menu offers a large range of fine Italian cuisine, and there are nightly specials as well. Our group ordered a wide array of dishes— veal, chicken, seafood and vegetarian, and all were very satisfied with their particular selection. I had the Veal DaVinci, and loved it. Although there wasn’t an empty seat at the restaurant, Jawas easy to hear discussion at our table, and we had plenty of room for our group. Ernesto’s is a gem, and I recommend it enthusiastically.

It was terrible. The waiter spilled hot sauce all over me. Never apologized nor came quickly to help mop up the sauce he spilled all over me. The owner of the restaurant did not offer any kind of compensation. A sweater and pair of slacks were ruined. I will never go back.

This was my 2nd visit to Ernesto’s and I just absolutely love it! Everything about it is excellent — the food, the service, the ambiance. The chicken parmesan was so tender and flavorful. The tortellini was creamy and delicious. The penne ala vodka was so yummy. Everything was just great and I can’t wait to visit again!

Mixed drinks were ok; food was not properly prepared. Pasta was extraordinarily salty; grilled pork chop was soft but tasteless and placed in onions and vegetables that were extremely spicy and hot. This could have been a good dish if prepared properly. Ceasar Salad was OK; beet salad was not. Room is very small--which is ok--but tables are placed near serving stations which makes some tables extremely uncomfortable. Some tables are fine.

After being seated without any type of greeting from the wait staff. We waited almost 15 minutes before being offered a drink. After the drinks arrived we immediately ordered appetizers and entrees. The mediocre at best apps came in about 10 minutes. Which was fine. Dinner entrees came within another 10 minutes or so. All but mine, the most expensive item on the menu. The busboy told me they are working on it. The waiter and owner/manager never came to the table. I called over the waiter and he said it was coming right out. After another 8-10 minutes,, I got up and approached the manager who identified himself as the owner. I shred with him how my family is now finishing their dinner and my food never arrived. He had no explanation for me. I told him how we were looking forward to eating here as we are locals and how extremely disappointed I am with the service and how we were treated. I told home to keep my entrée, and bring me the check. He didn’t say a word. The check included everything by my entree. I paid the bill left a tip and as I was walking out the owner thanks me for giving the place “a shot”. Pathetic! We were also there to celebrate a birthday. Never was that even a consideration or mention by the owner or staff. I’ll never spend my hard earned money in this place again. And never go hungry on my birthday!

While the food was very good the service left a lot to be desired. We order two dishes, pasta bolonese and pasta in white clam sauce, and they had run out of both on a Friday night at 8:00 and we watched as the wait staff stood at the front of the restaurant as we needed assistance. However, the food we were able to order was very tasty. So this is a mixed review at best - food very good; service fair at best.

Dined with my wife on Friday evening and was told that there was one portion of swordfish left of the seafood special and that they were out of veal!! How does an Italian restaurant run out of veal at 7:30 PM on a Friday evening? The chicken special that I ordered was overcooked and dry.

Haven’t been here in years, and will be RIGHT BACK !!! “New” owner, Dillion ( Dylan? ), we met last night- Doing a great job! Our wait staff was very friendly, very enthusiastic, helpful and fast! Salads and both clam appetizers were super yummy. My beet salad was beets- not a couple of beets served with a plate of arugula, like so many places serve. The Caesar salad was dressed perfectly, flavorful and enjoyed. The hot food was delicious, and served so nice and HOT-what a treat! They offer so many lovely combinations in seafood, pasta, chicken and veal dishes. You just can’t go wrong. Our party of six were all happy! We then delighted in a dessert offering- exactly what we hoped for- light, perfect lemon sorbetto, not too sweet but refreshing, tartufo and WARM biscotti with a little perfect homemade whipped cream to dip. Absolutely, sublime! And, all this is a sweet, comfortable restaurant right in town with a dedicated staff and a chef that totally GETS IT! Bravo!
