Chef, Gerry Quintero L.
Growing up as a vegetarian in Mexico, Gerry acquainted himself with the fresh produce available year round and cooking at home from a young age. Chef Quintero has honed his skills from catering to fine dining. Working in Toronto restaurants such as Scarpetta, Yours Truly, El Caballito, Linda Modern Thai and Rosalinda. The different cuisines developed his own style and love for seasonal Ontario produce always keeping his beloved Mexican flavours in his arsenal.

This place is a little gem! Great light, healthy, organic fresh food, with a nice ambiance and fantastic service. Bring all my clients here for lunch! Maybe I should keep this to myself but they deserve a 5 star review!!

Farm to table fresh brunch. Pretty interior. Fantastic service. Great juice bar if you want a pick-me-up to get you through the afternoon.

The quality of the food is incomparable! The customer service is amazing! The location is stunning! I had such a great experience at Essence Bistro, fresh food, healthy and the cocktails (you must try them)… my new fav restaurant!!! And what I love the most about the restaurant is that is Latin gourmet food, that is so new! I don’t really seen any latin restaurants that offer gourmet dishes. Can’t wait to go back and try the Oysters and Paella!

It’s the best restaurant in the area that you could visit and get a delicious and perfect dinner to share with someone! I haven’t tried something like this! It’s a very unique concept that mix the Latin American food with elegance. I loved it. The service was perfect, nice servers and staff. Drinks are the perfect match for the food! You must visit this place!

I was already looking forward to eating here. I have never been to a farm to table restaurant. The food was exquisite. Every plate was different in its own way. It was so wonderful hearing how it's put together, how the menu is maintained,integrated with different ingredients and foods that are in season. That was probably the most wonderful part. Knowing where your food is coming from. And the best part is I didn't leave bloated I didn't leave feeling heavy and over stuffed. I left feeling full. I would love to experience brunch. Definitely be making my way back.

I had high expectations because the first time I was there everything was amazing! This time, there was very little veggies included with the dips and salsas appetizer and not enough chips so we had to order an additional small basket of chips. Also the chips were flavoured so they competed against the dips. The taro chips were good but the plaintain were not our favourite. We had reservations and the place was empty but the server didn't offer us the nicer seating. He also over charged me by around $1000! Thank goodness I noticed and quickly cancelled the charge! Then instead of offering me a copy of the receipt for the cancelled transaction he held onto it. I had to ask for it from him. The first time I went the service as amazing, personal, and you could tell they wanted us to really enjoy our experience. This time it was lackluster and careless. I travelled about an hour just to eat there again and even brought my father visiting from the U.S. but I don't have the same feeling about it anymore. I don't know that I will do the distance again just to eat there. Especially if I have to really watch carefully what I am being charged. After my first visit I posted a raving review on Google but now I feel differently about the whole experience. The food is good though.
