I mean everything in the US is expensive for people coming from the UK hence the value score but for New York the value is fine. Really beautiful room, friendly people - there is an outside area if you prefer not to sit inside. Food was really excellent - flatbreads and calamari to start and then lamb ravioli, steak and salmon to follow for our party. Couldn’t fault any of it. Servers were lovely. USD 325 for 4 people with drinks and including tip. Best meal we’ve had in NYC to date.

So much fun! I went for their NYC Pride Party in the Lower East Side event. They ran out of mules so I didn't get to try them. I had the parmesan truffle fries and mango lava lamp drink, it's a sweet drink.

We were there for Father’s Day and the service and food was great. It was a tad too noisy for us but if you go to a place that has a bottomless brunch, it’s expected. We will definitely be dining here again.

Loved the Essex Brunch! We ate the bar so our champagne glasses were truly never empty. And, unlike some bottomless brunches Essex does not shortchange on the food. I had the Essex Burger and my partner had the Bananas Foster French Toast and both were top notch. Friendly and super-efficient service.

I don’t usually leave reviews but this place was amazing. We had the bottomless mimosas with the entree and everything tasted amazing. The service couldn’t have been better. If you’re looking for a fun brunch spot with good food and service then look no further. Going to make a point to come back here.

Amazing food, great drinks. Love the happy hour specials . Service was top notch, from hostess, server and bartender. A hip fun environment. I ordered briskets sliders from happy hour menu and ATR AHi tuna for dinner. YUMMY!

Great vibe and the place is so spacey! Great presentation of the food too, we had the hamachi crudo and the shrimp wontons, to the point. My wife got the Tuna and I had the steak crispy on the top and (mr) bloody on the inside , lots of flavors and taste. The music was up beat , it was the impression that its one of those places where you can dine and Party (no need to look for a after dinner place) . Kudos to the staff very friendly and attentive.

Bottomless brunch is a pretty good deal, chaotic energy, lots of fresh to New York girlies and their crews having bottomless brunch and having a good time lol. A fun vibe but definitely a mess, the host seemed really stressed as anyone would be with that many parties. We had a reservation and waited 30 minutes to be seated. Service was attentive.

Went for a 1.5 brunch for $42. My meal, out of the 3 of us, was the only OK one. The staff also rudely made us get up from our table 30 minutes early and completely cut off our time because they needed our table for a birthday party. Handled extremely unprofessionally & we didn’t get our moneys worth in the slightest. Won’t be going back.

Entertaining out of town guests from California. Needed a big table. Didn’t expect much, noisy, boozy. Rude management, obnoxiously insisted that they we right (about pico de gallo, of all things). Except they weren’t. Over-priced and rushed. From a lifelong NYC resident’s perspective: there are far better mediocre restaurants than this.

We love dining at the Essex bar. Bartender Narada is a gem! Small but seasonal menu so we always have something new to try. We loved the lamb ravioli and they have the best calamari anywhere hands down!

Excellent Mother's Day dinner! Menu has something for all tastes: Delicious NY Strip Steak and Burgers for parents and creative small plates for wife and me. We loved the burrata and prosciutto flatbread and the seared yellowtail crudo. Our server, Alfonso, was very friendly and knowledgable. Great value wine list. Highly recommended.

As an expectant mother, I was beyond disappointed to learn that the Shrimp and Cheesy Bacon Grits option was no longer available as that pregnancy craving was why I came to brunch at Essex. That was my only disappointment, luckily. My sister did not enjoy the mimosas with her unlimited brunch but her food was excellent. Overall, a good Mother's Day experience was had.

My mom, sister, and I visited here for Mother's day 05/08/2022. The restaurant moved across the street. I haven't been here since prior to the pandemic. The space is well appointed with two levels and an outside eating space. This is a hot spot in the LES, so it's always busy and the perfect after work or brunch nook. However, on this day it was particularly loud. I couldn't hear anything my party said. There were two particularly loud parties. When they left the noise level, although still loud, was acceptable. The hostesses, waiter, and servers were professional. When our waiter got occupied, there was another person to take our orders. She was probably the shift taking over. However, we did wait quite some time for the food. Perhaps because it was a holiday. The food was great, and doesn't disappoint. Good sized portions. No complaints. The mimosas were free flowing, well past the allotted time since we were waiting for a while. It felt good to be out. It's been much to shoulder these past couple years. I do see the hospitality business in a different light, and have fonder respect for it. During these time we do need support or community businesses if we want them to last and be staples.

Went for the Mother's day brunch. All was going well until we were about to leave. Had to go on a bathroom run. After settling our bill, the server returned to tell us to vacate the table because they need the table in five minutes. I'm sorry, we weren't there even a full hour. I found it disrespectful. We were already leaving, but waiting for the rest of our party to return from the ladies room. I prefer Beauty and Essex anyway.

We loved the restaurant and food and outdoor seating. Our server Krtsyal was awesome!! so friendly and directed us to the best options for our large group. soooo nice. The only thing i felt was a bit much is the price way too much for the portions... but we had a blast nonetheless.

My family and I went here for Mother's Day brunch. The place opened at 11am which is also the time of our reservation. The staff seemed very disorganized and were not ready for the large Mother's Day crowd. All the staff members seemed to be rushing around trying to prep for the crowd. Our waitress was nice and attentive. The food was pretty good but definitely did not justify the cost of $46 per person. The place was clean and ambiance was nice.

We were going to order appetizers and entrees, but the appetizers were so bad that we left and went somewhere else for dinner. The Mac-n-Cheese tasted sour. No one at the table could stomach more than 2 bites. The calamari had a strange spice added to it that tasted like Christmas. And the yellowtail crudo was COOKED! Crudo means 'raw', so that was a huge disappointment. This place shouldn't be in the food business.

Restaurant had not not seen our reservation for 14, but was able to accommodate my group. Service was OK. Food was good, not great—basically, as expected.
