Lovely night. The only thing that was weird was the spinach side dish. For $10 it was impossibly small.
Made reservations for 8:30 to celebrate a friend’s birthday, but had to wait over 40 minutes for our table. Asked for them to bring out a dessert with a candle to celebrate and they forgot. Disappointing experience.
mediocre in every term, order two appetizers one came wrong and had to change it, overall not the best service
We ate outside and it was delicious
Great drinks. Great food. Great service! The patio is beautiful.
A superb meal. We were guided through our culinary experience by Victoria, a knowledgeable, attentive member of the wait staff. Too many pluses to name; we can hardly wait to return.
f you need or want assistance with choosing a wine, the sommeliers are excellent I believe our sommelier name was Hayley she choose a lovely Spanish wine for us, an amazing wine and great value.
Quality going downhill.
The main course (fish) was not that tasty nor plated attractively.
Salad was delicious. And they didn’t bring us the sorbet. Ambience made up for what was lacking.
Service was very slow. over an hour between apps and mains. We made our displeasure known to the server and not even a token gesture.
Excellent patio that matched the excellence in the service provided.
The chicken I ordered was so awfully undercooked....raw in the centre....they took it away, asked if I wanted another (no thank you) and then just charged full cost for everything else. It is a lovely spot marred by the traffic noise and now sadly, the poorly cooked food
Food was fantastic and cocktails were delicious. Definitely recommend the lamb chops, house made halloumi, and octopus. Side veggie portions are overpriced for the serving size, but the bell peppers were super yummy. Service was a little slow, though it was a moderately busy night. The patio is absolutely beautiful - ask for a seat outdoors if possible.
Bad experience overall. Would not recommend to others
We had a terrible experience at Estia on Saturday night. Our reservation was at 8:00 and our food was not served at all. We left at 10:30 without eating. It ruined our night out! The manager did not handle the situation properly. We were extremely disappointed.
It was a great experience but was very warm at the beginning and only got cool at the end so that was not a good thing. Kelly our server was fantastic and we will definitely share it with our other friends.
THe food was very good and the atmosphere was lovely .
Excellent dinner, the service and food was excellent, we will definitely go back even though a little pricy but well worth it
First time there and we'll be back with even more friends next time. Highly recommended by a friend, and Estia did not disappoint. Food and service was amazing. Best Moussaka we've ever had. The other couple's Rib Eye was done to perfection. Next time we'll try some of the fish. The Fennel and Radicchio salad was a yummy starter. The attention to detail with all of the dishes is worth the price. Come hungry and try to leave room for their fantastic desserts, especially the Kataifi Tart.
The decor and ambiance is that of a hotel lobby - this can be good or bad for some - bad for me. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, and we didn't feel a warm welcome. For an empty restaurant, the food took quite awhile to arrive, and when it did, the recommended octopus was tough. When I informed our server, as he described it as his favourite dish, he acted surprised and seemed in disbelief that I felt that way. He offered to have it remade, and I received it just as tough a the first. He didn't come around to check how I liked it the second time around until much later - again - in an empty restaurant. I've had octopus many times, including at Sotto Sotto and other great restaurants - it's always super tender, but not here, twice. Even though the restaurant is open at 5pm (my reservation time), it seems the staff were still busy setting up for the busy dinner hour ahead. We also ordered other apps and a bottle of wine, in addition to entrees - all of which were mediocre for a well established restaurant. I informed the server of how I didn't enjoy the octopus and how the sides were over seasoned - to my surprise - nothing was done by him, nor any manager came out to speak with me. Instead, I received the bill with no attempt to fix the situation. I wouldn't expect that at such a restaurant, and for that reason, I will not return, and decided to leave this review so that management can make some changes.
Loved Estia! The food was delicious and the service was great!
Very slow service
Very small portions
Estia is one of our favourite restaurants. The food is great, the ambience is hip and chic and the service is beyond. We’ve never had a bad meal and we’ve always been treated impeccably. From the valet all the way to the wait staff. I would definitely recommend it for a special occasion, a party or just a causal night out on the town.
It’s a very nice spot. Sit upstairs if you want quieter. Overpriced. What else is new???
We have been to Estia twice. Food is good. But kitchen just cannot turn around the food in a timely manner. Both times we have been, we have had to ask our waitress when our main course was coming. Both times we waited over 30 minutes to get our main course. Food is good BUT..... The kitchen needs to up its game so that they can get the food to the table in a reasonable amount of time.
Service was very very slow.
We celebrated our sisters birthday at Estia... The outdoor ambiance is amazing ! The food was fantastic! The outdoor music was wonderful and the wait staff was on point! I highly recommend Estia !
Amazing food what a great restaurant 👏👏
Came here for my birthday dinner with my sister. Had the Eggplant and feta starter, very small portion and the cheese overwhelmed the Eggplant flavour...not enough balsamic to balance it out in my opinion. We also had the 5 cheese flatbread which was good but nothing to write home about. Finally we shared the lamb pasta as our main but the sauce to pasta ratio was about 4:1... Had to take home half of it because we didn't want to eat just the sauce. Overall the decor and service were amazing but unfortunately will not return as we could not justify a $76 bill (after tip and tax) for the food.
Came here with my husband for our date night. We were so excited to try Estia and it did not disappoint! The patio was lovely, spacious and had just the right amount of shade / light around dinner time. The service by Kelly was seamless - he told us all the special and made recommendations without being pushy, our drinks were quickly refreshed, and the courses flowed at the right pace to keep us happy but wanting more. We really loved that some of the dishes had a half portion option and so we were able to try a few more things between the two of us. The fennel salad was super fresh with a light zesty taste and the tomato and cucumber salad was simple but perfect. Lamb meatball starter was more than enough to share. Pasta mains and chocolate dessert were well cooked, well presented and delicious. Will be back to try the fish!!
When traveling I always look for restaurants serving whole grilled fish. Estia definitely fits the bill in that regard offering branzino, my favorite, and an impressive selection otherwise. Salads were interesting (fig/arugula) and (fennel/radicchio) and perfectly dressed. Was less pleased with the fava beans which were served in a tomato concoction. Im unable to get fava beans fresh in my home area so when I eat them I prefer them simply presented. Wide selection of spirits and impressive selection of scotch. Had to dock the ambiance for the music—“everybody’s working for the weekend” is still playing in my head—ugh—
First time at Estia and was really impressed. Was a date night with my wife and was the perfect place for this - good atmosphere, great food, and fantastic service. Would definitely go back to try other items.
Very expensive and food was completely unmemorable. Their flat bread was very good as was the baby gem lettuce salad. Fish was ok, short rib was pretty good, rib eye nothing amazing. Potato side with salsa verde very disappointing. Orzo side ok at best. Both sides should be removed from the menu. Overall, dinner for 4 w tax and tip was $920. Great location and very nice restaurant but food totally not worth it.
The ambience and service are outstanding and the food is quite good with a creative twist to traditional Mediterranean cuisine. The dessert menu is unusual and outstanding. The restaurant does get noisy but not excessively so .
Excellent food and service
Overall wonderful experience with very good food and service. Only drawback was the high table, which was not a problem for those in our party who sat on the banquette but was a bit daunting for those who sat on the high chairs!
The meal was delicious... had the beef tartar, crudo, short rib and Greek Branzino...also ordered the grilled octopus which was a disappointment but the host was quick to apologize and remove it. Overall a nice restaurant for a special night.
The experience was exceptional. Excellent, unique quality food with beautiful presentation. The service outstanding. Beautiful, romantic ambiance and decor. I would highly recommend Estia.
We had a really good dinner. Lacking a bit on the service of the initial cocktails but the food was outstanding. We really like this place and recommend it. Also, conveniently close to Yorkville for bars and pubs for after dinner.
Overall a Nice Place. The server was really helpful in accommodating our dietary restrictions, but we ended up ordering way too much food because the food was served family style and I really feel that the server could have helped us since I asked her directly what she recommended portion wise. Maybe the way the menu was structured made it difficult to know what the appropriate amount of food would be. It was not nice to have to leave so much food untouched. We couldn’t take it with us since we were going out.
