An unforgetable moment in a charming Victorian mansion in the heart of downtown Montreal ...When the cuisine becomes an art!
Superbe expérience gastronomique. Unique en son genre. Personnel sympathique, pas du tout snob. Que du positif !
At the top of its game. A must visit place for a special event in Montreal!
First time there. It was perfect as expected!!
Overall experience was good. Only concern was the lack of instructions from the waiters on what to eat on that plate. We were given the main course that had seaweeds and we were given a harsh look and a stern “no” when we tried to eat it
Good place to try!!!!!! Stuff really helpful and considerate! Must-try place in Montreal!
Three courses of desserts out of seven courses are too much. Desserts are also too sweet.
The atmosphere is nice and fancy restaurant but they have flies and bugs around table. It was so annoyed and dirty when you are eating. I even had bad stomachache at night after dinner. The foods was so so and not as i expected. The decoration may attract but flavour is just not good. I can spend the same amount of money to eat at better place.
I would not recommend this restaurant. Too many gimmicks to the food presentation. Nearly every dish brought out on the grand experience tasting menu was over worked trying to entertain the client rather than wow them with the actual food. We were asked to look through individual view finders to watch a video or put headphones on to hear music while the waiter shakes a martini to go with one of the desserts. All the paraphernalia the waitstaff was required to deal with was not reasonable and prevented them from being attentive to the basics like keeping water glasses filled. Over three hours to have a meal that left us without any memorable food.... only memories silly gimmicks and a big bill.
Food was excellent.
Its up there with the best in the world .
I was at Disfrutar last month and food was good or even better than Disfrutar.
But where it lacks its on service skills. the timing and the way they plate are put are not up to par with top 50 in the world - or even Maison Boulud in Montreal. lots of little things were not done.
I think the first appetizers with the Log was overkilled and didn't even worked. all that for a sponge towels.
but I have to say they are very generous and quality/price is amazing - I had 11 courses menu (more like 18) + wine tasting for 225$ - its a great deal.
will definitely go back and bring customers. I might sound negative but small things can make this restaurant the best in Canada.
Also would have love the Chef to come and say hello during Dinner service. People are coming to see you mr Ferrer - would be cool if you just come and say hello for 2 seconds.
We took the 11 dishes degustation menu and left disappointed.
Lots of theatric, very nice and original presentation. But where are the flavors? Surprisingly most dishes were rather bland and taste not at fine dining level.
Food definitely LOOKS nice but with bland TASTE which makes the experience not that enjoyable, despite all the gimmicks: headset during dessert, video before the oyster, etc.
It is quite a big restaurant and apparently very successful.
We are used to fine dining and this was one of the most disappointing. As far as food taste is concerned, not even worth one Michelin star.
Service was fine. Wine list diverse at all price range.
Please do less on the theatric and focus on the flavors.
It was a good experience but far too expensive The food was good but not down to the cooking. More relating to the quality of the ingredients : lobster, beef, ... but nothing very specific.
The main issue were the prices for the wines : Aperitif + 125$ per person for the food + 75$ per person for the wines (5 different ones but not exceptional) + 15% taxes + 15 to 18% of TIP => 900$ for 3 !!!
If the food was OK, the deserts were really average : some marshmallows above a small burning cooker ?!?! You would have expected some kind of Patisserie from a Chef Patissier but nothing like it.
If You are looking for a "spectacle" then this is the place to be but for me, was good but will not go back.
Definitely not good value for money.
Chose the 11 course Grand Table dining experience. Service seemed good at the beginning of the meal but lots of time passed in between courses before dessert. Waiters seemed to be handling a lot of tables. Couldn’t get refills on beverages or drinks easily. Lots of fancy/intricately presented dishes seemed to take wait staff more time to serve. They really needed more help. The wait took away from the experience and while food was good, not something I want to repeat. The experience took just under 4.5 hours and it was really torture to sit in one place for so long. Expensive meal but service didn’t match the caliber of what they were trying to do.
Delicious food and entertaining theatrics. Definitely get the wine pairing if you donthe tasting.
Birthday dinner with family.
This was on my list. Glad I tried it but not a place I would return often unlike other Mtl restaurants.
Very stylish and creative presentation, the servers were great, warm, friendly as well as the cocktail chef. The sommelier wasn’t!
Had the chef surf and turf 7 course creation.
Lots of wow factors in the delivery but not in the taste.
Overall an experience to be had, no regret, made for a special evening that’s for sure.
Overpriced service took way too long and « surprises » were nothing great. Will never go there again
Fine dining meets multimedia.
Excellent food and perfect wine pairings, presented in a fun way by eager and attentive staff. We had the 9 course surf and turf and it was amazing! Which included a 3 course dessert. Although a little expensive, it is worth it for a special night out of fine dining.
We went to celebrate our daughter starting at MCGill. The food was very good. The experience was fun. We choose the 11 course meal with the wine pairing. My daughter and I did the $150 wine pairing and my husband the $295. Needless to say it was a very expensive meal. The part I was disappointed with was the restaurant was so full that there was no connection made in the almost 4 hours that we were there. They never checked to see if we liked our wine. (One of which I hated and my husband traded with me). My daughter doesn’t drink red so despite the fact the sommelier was excited that he was serving a red with fish it did not work for my daughter. But he never asked her so my husband drank her wine.
At a restaurant of this caliber I expect the service staff to notice when customers are not consuming what is served.
Overall we liked the food some dishes more then others.
I had 2 major complaints. 1 was the service. This is an experience and an expensive experience at that. Yet, the server did not explain 60% of what we were eating, or what course we were on, or what was next. At this level, a person should not have to ask what they are being served.
Second, was the timing. We were there for almost 4 hours. The time between small courses was ridiculous. Perhaps if this had been explained or discussed, we would have ordered ala cart. To top it off, a person in my party ordered a cocktail. This was met with a grimace from our server and he had to wait 25 minutes for it.
Overall, this was not worth the price and was a huge disappointment.
Merci! 😊
What an experience! The food was amazing, but the meal itself is something of an adventure. Highly recommend!
Outstanding environment and service.
Creative tasting menu that activated « all of the senses ».
Superb wine tasting matching the menu items perfectly.
Invited to visit the kitchen with pics with chef Jerome Ferrer himself!
Best restaurant experience in Montreal and should be at least Michelin two stars soon!!!
Best dinner ever! If you are looking for an amazing dinner and experience in Montreal, look no further. The 11 course tasting menu was spectacular. Service was spot on. Only "complaint" would be the wine pairs, the pairings themselves where great but the pours were a little disappointing and only 5 pairings for 11 courses was also a bit "odd", I can see skipping some courses but would have been better if there were 7-8 pairings (or larger pours with explanation that the pairing was for 2 courses). Met the chef and got a group pic at the end in the kitchen which was really cool. Highly recommend with the caveat to maybe skip the pairings and get a bottle or 2 (or 3) for your group.
A superb culinary experience served in a very entertaining and innovative manner. One of our best eating experiences ever.
