Enjoy our locally sourced ingredients at lunch, during a weekend brunch, or on a special night out with family and friends.
Eggs Benny to die for and a sweet as pie server makes for an awesome brunch :)
Everything was very good except the dessert. The lemon cake was dry and hard, possibly stale.
Food was amazing had the salmon and the vanilla cheesecake with orange chocolate for dessert perfect
Service and service was excellent ... tables are too close to each other. Hard to have a private conversation
Our waiter Megan was fabulous. Food, cocktails, and wine was all great. Great atmosphere.
It was an evening out with my two sisters. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We really enjoyed our dining experience . We will definitely use this restaurant again!
Service was very good. Food was good but a little pricey. We had to wait a long time for our meals, even though the restaurant was not particularly busy.
Food is ok but expensive. Service is always terribly slow. They never have enough people working when we go there. They have a captive audience being a hotel restaurant so don’t really care I guess..
We went to Exile for a celebration - we have been many times and have always had wonderful food and loved the atmosphere. However, on this occasion our server ruined the experience by saying something that was demeaning and incredibly inappropriate. It left us angry and incredibly disappointed. We won't be returning for quite awhile if ever.
We love exile, it’s our go to for a night out 😊
We found it overpriced. We had booked 8 days in advance but still had to discuss where we should sit. The menu choices were adequate, not extensive, and my wife’s salmon meal was cold when it arrived. They reheated it willingly but this simply should not happen at such an upscale restaurant. The staff were excellent. A year ago I had a great lunch there, so this was very disappointing.
Valet parking in St. John’s is a bit of a joke, we are not New York! Pretentious.
Greta food and great service. This place is consistently good- a lot of the business crowd come during lunch so I would recommend reservations.
I have been going to Exile for years. Over the past 5-8 months it was going downhill - the menu and food. But it has improved greatly! Will return. I usually go there once a month
Depends on what meal. The dinner menu is best.thanks
I like the menu. They always try to add some local flavor (moose, lamb, pot pies etc.). We've never had a bad experience.
We arrived on time for our reservation and were greeted and seated right away. We sat down for almost 10 minutes before we were greeted by someone who brought over water and said our server would be right with us and took a drink order for us. It was almost 25 minutes until we received our drinks and our server came over and apologized for our wait.
It seems that it was too busy for the amount of people they had in the restaurant to the amount of staff they had on. Being a server myself I know we were disappointed with the length of time it took to be served.
Once our server came over she was very friendly and personable and the food was great. Just started off a little disappointing when we already had a later reservation.
Staff was friendly but service was very slow considering that the restaurant was not particularly busy and dining room staff level appeared to be adequate. One menu item that one of our party ordered was unavailable, this was surprising given that the item is obviously popular on the Sunday brunch menu. Two of us ordered Eggs Benedict, they were cooked as ordered but were not hot when delivered, perhaps because they were not served promptly and the plates were not warmed. These are easily remedied deficiencies but they do need management attention. I could not recommend this restaurant to friends except with cautions.
The server was attentive and the food was great. Love the atmosphere.
Always excellent food and love the music theme. Never disappointed!
The service was fantastic. The food was so scrumptious and the atmosphere and sound system couldn't have been better. Highly recommend.
The young lady that greeted us was extremely professional. Our waitress was also courteous, professional and knowledgeable. The food was fresh and fantastic.
My first visit to Exile was very positive. The seating was comfortable and the ambience was pleasing. Conversation was easy and without noise disruption. Music was pleasurable even though it wasn’t my favourite kind of music. Our table had four different dishes from the menu and everybody enjoyed their meal immensely. Service was very good. Our server was very helpful in assisting with menu choices. Server was also very pleasant and friendly.
Next time we visit Exile, we plan to go for Sunday brunch. We’ve heard it’s very good and the cost is very reasonable.
Overall, our first visit was pleasant, and we plan to visit gain soon.
Always fantastic! Great food, great drinks, great service and the ambiance is second to none!
Exile is consistently excellent and very good value for money. The service is always warm and friendly. Love it fir brunch, lunch, and drinks!
Amazing atmosphere, artwork, service & value! Great food (brunch), would highly recommend!
We went for the 2019 Overcast Burger Battle, the lamb donair burger. Always have enjoyed Exile's entry as they've never been shy about trying outside-the-box taste combos. This year's entry was tasty and appealing; my only mild criticism was that the "donair" sauce tended towards the standard North American donair taste-a little bit on the sweet side. A minor quibble as all four of us enjoyed the meal.
The ambiance was good and staff were attentive but not overly friendly. The wait times were appropriate as you did not seem rushed and not left waiting endlessly. The food was very good, well presented and the menu had a excellent variety. Prices were reasonable but on the higher end.
I would recommend the Exile and would definitely go there again.
Don’t order the lamb burger! It was so spicy we couldn’t eat it and we enjoy spicy food all of the time. We are the types to lick the plate clean and never send anything back but this burger was dry and too hot to eat. When we mentioned it to the server she didn’t return for a long time then said she couldn’t take it off the bill which we didn’t ask to have happen in the first place?! The service then took a turn for the worst so we can only assume our server was lambasted (no pun intended) by the chef. She essentially avoided us after that and arrived at the table with the bill without asking if we wanted coffee, dessert etc. I have heard terrible things about this place before but kept going back after 5 previous visits because it is relaxed and plays awesome music. Hoping this was just a one off...
Fun vibe, not too loud, and a good place to grab a happy hour drink or dinner.
Food cooked to perfection! Mussels were out of this world! thanks for an enjoyable evening!
Five of the six diners were enthused. The other person felt his/her meal was average or lower.
Great place in town for friends, ambiance, and food. B
It was fine, not spectacular but ok, wait to be served was bit long and the restaurant was not busy.
Good brunch. As usual.
Only complaint was that I found the omelette to be very greasy. Couldn't eat it all. Still enjoy the restaurant overall.
My wife and I chose Exile, based on menu items we saw online. But, they weren’t on the menu when we arrived.
Luckily, there were still good options, and we had a fantastic meal.
And we were VERY glad that none of the deserts were frozen cheesecake.
The food was excellent, the service was great! If I had to look for one complaint, we were waiting to leave and had to wait too long for our bill, actually we had to ask for it. Overall, that was insignificant compared to the excellent food and service. I have already recommended Exile to 6 co-workers.
The best dinner we have had in the city. Fantastic service, excellent food, and a clean inviting environment. Our new favourite.
Fantastic menu with superb service and execution!
Great food great service!
