Led by Executive Chef-Owner Je Wheeler, Fabrik is Austin’s first 100-percent plant-based tasting restaurant featuring curated menus that highlight the seasonality and diversity of plant-based cuisine in an upscale, sophisticated setting. With sustainability as a priority in our approach, we source produce and ingredients from local growers and provisioners wherever possible. We offer an eclectic selection of vegan, biodynamic and organic wines. These unique wines have been curated to pair with the tasting menu, in addition to a la carte options. I brought my offspring, who is a chef, for their 27th birthday & we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious! I had the wine pairing, which was fantastic (especially the one chosen to accompany the pasta dish). It is a very small space, so moderate noise from other guests' conversations is to be expected, but it was not bothersome at all. Overall we really enjoyed our experience & plan to return in the future. The one thing I would note - if you are someone who knows you're more likely to need a trip to the restroom when consuming wine, maybe skip the wine. Unfortunately you have to go outside & around the corner to get to their restroom, which can feel a bit awkward.

Everything about this dinning experience was joyful- we arrived early and were greeted immediately by a smiling host. He checked us in on a tablet and asked if we were celebrating an anniversary, then seated us immediately. Our server arrived a few moments later and made wine pairing recommendations. I was concerned about the description on their website stating it was an "intimate space" but we did not feel cramped. The space is around the size of a standard guest bedroom. Of note, we were seated right next to the window and were at eye level with cars driving by on MLK with their lights on- it was a little distracting but not too bad. I was concerned the food would be the stereotypical fancy restaurant tiny portions and we would leave a little hungry, ended up no where near being the case. Plenty of food, next time we're planning to do the 5 course instead of the 8. The food was fresh and artisanal- I've never tasted anything like it. Fabrik surprised us by toasting us with champagne in honor of our 21st anniversary at the last course. Being able to have this experience as a vegan is a very rare treat and now we have memories we will treasure forever because of Fabrik. Thank you!!!

The seven course tasting is absolutely divine! My wife and I agree that it was our best meal ever, period! Chef Je shows her amazing skill and artistry to perfection. This experience isn’t about it being vegan, it is experiencing art from a true master of her craft!

Our 7 course dinner was an amazing experience. Let me begin by saying that we are not vegans or even vegetarians but if we could eat food like this every day it would have been so easy to be a vegan, I would be the first one to sign up. The chef at Fabrik has a magical talent. She cooked all 7 courses for all the tables at the same time and she made it look so easy. There was no noise or stress or chaos like you would expect from a restaurant’s kitchen. She did everything in such a peaceful and graceful way, it was like watching someone make art. And she truly is an artist because every dish of our 7 course meal was beautifully presented, meticulously thought out and executed perfectly. It was evident that every ingredient in every course was important to her and every course was somehow even more delicious than the previous one. The service was wonderful as well, the dishes were timed perfectly, the whole experience was like one you would expect to receive at a Michelin star restaurant. The setting is very intimate with a limited amount of tables which was very nice and relaxing. It was a little chilly so bring a coat just in case. We will definitely be back every time they change the seasonal menu. The bottom line is: if you are a vegan- go there- it’s be best restaurant you will get to go to. If you have friends that you want to convert to veganism- take them there. If you are non-vegan- go there because the food is amazing and you won’t be missing the animal products at all.

Phenomenal. I could eat their magical sourdough bread every day if I could. The pasta was delicious, the sauce was perfect with its slow heat, and I love the Riesling sherbet with cacao crisps.

I loved everything about this place! It was hands down one of my favorite dinners ever, and I’ve eaten in some of the top restaurants in the world. I was so excited for an upscale vegan tasting menu, and this place far exceeded anything I could have wished for! Everything was beautifully presented and tasted phenomenal. I cannot wait to have a special occasion so I can come back. In reality, I won’t wait, I’ll make up any reason to go back.

I took my vegan boyfriend there for his birthday. I am not vegan. Both of us loved the 7 course tasting menu. The service was great, and very friendly and told us about every course we were eating. The courses are definitely just a "taste," as in a tapas size portion, except for several slices of the sourdough focaccia bread which was probably our favorite with the two dipping sauces. It would have been nice to have a coffee option for the desserts cheesecake and ice cream, which were both delicious. We also liked the metal bar rest for the silverware, nice touch. Highly recommend for a fancy dinner night out.
