Fairouz was terrific. Had dinner there with a few friends (5 people). The food was a culinary delight with each course explained when served and talented bartenders. We absolutely loved it!
There is a fixed price menu for $60 per person, and it can get a little loud in there when full but the food is worth it!
We were entertaining co-workers from out of town so we wanted to pick a nice place that could accommodate a wide variety of picky eaters. We ended up getting a fantastic prix fixe sharing menu with many delicious options for appetizers, mains and deserts. They even tweaked the mains so the vegetarian in attendance would not be left out.
Loved the food recommendations our server made. Everything was amazing!
My wife and I had only the following mazes: carrot-tahini dip, babaganoush, muhammara and artichokes. The first three were only average, the forth awful. there were too many pomegranate seeds on the muhammara and little red pepper, the chef didn't even bother to roast the pine nuts on the babaganoush,, the carrot-tahini dip needed some sort of green herbs on top, such as cilantro, yet still the best of the maze in our sample. the artichoke was simply awful (jarred, not fresh, vinegary and tasteless artichokes, topped by an average tuna salad. Combining artichoke with tuna is a bad idea, they don't go well together).
the dessert platter was fine, but not exceptional. As an experienced home chef, my experience at Fairouz was disappointing.
Our meal was excellent, and we both liked what Fairouz has done with its space--it's a stylish update to an already cool building. Fairouz is worth keeping in mind for a nice meal out in Centretown.
Very tasty. A little bit expensive. Nice attention to give us a plate of cheese because it was à little long.
Overrated but cute...and I’m Mid. Eastern.
Wonderful experience in a lovely location. The Building itself is very interesting and obviously a heritage structure. Wonderful staff and exciting food selection... very tasty!
Delicious food, attentive service, poor lighting, a few people using cell phones to see the menu.
Everyone was really turned off by the waitress the night we went. She constantly came over to our table and kept interrupting our conversations and pushing everyone to order more drinks. We had ordered drinks, food, and even dessert. If we wanted more on top of everything we already ordered, we would have told her. It was incredibly annoying. Overall, not a great experience. Our friends came from out of town and were excited to try out Fairouz, in addition to catching up. After our experience, I don't think any of us would be returning.
Dinner on a Wednesday evening was my first experience, along with my sister and brother-in-law. We shared 3 appetizers and 2 main courses, which one waiter predicted correctly would leave us satiated. The food was outstanding. Original but well-balanced flavours, tender meats, and very artistic presentations. The restaurant also catered to my tree nut allergy appropriately. The wine list is a little pricey but sadly, this is true of all restaurants in this class so I won't fault them for this. The service was impeccable. The sound level was quite comfortable, although this inevitably depends on the other guests. The decor is very tasteful and conducive to any occasion. Fairouz gives an upscale feel without being pretentious. We will need to attend again soon to try out everything else on the menu. Highly recommended.
I went for my wedding anniversary and I cannot say enough! The service was great, the flavours were exceptional...I cannot wait to go back!
My friends and I had a great evening at Fairouz, we had amazing service (Sarah was awesome), and loved our meal. We got the set menu as we were a group of 7, and this allowed us to try a wide variety from the menu. Favorites were the cashew dip and the roasted cauliflower. The dishes were paced well, we all left full and didn't feel rushed. Everyone enjoyed their drinks, especially the "getting figgy with it". Will definitely be back!
It was my second time there. The servers were great at explaining the menu and the dishes as they brought them. I tried the Lebanese (red) wine for the first time - loved it! The Apple of My Eye cocktail was also delish. We tried all three dips plus the beet salad and shared two mains (lamb and rabbit dishes). It was plenty for three of us with no room left for dessert. We’ll definitely be back!
Great and unique flavours. Outstanding service. Small portions. Love sharing plates.
Worth every penny for the culinary experience. I love it when the waitress/waiter helps you with options because they are very knowledgeable with the menu and want to make sure you enjoy your experience.
Im giving this restaurant a 4 star rating overall. The ambience is gorgeous, the food is delicious though overpriced. The service was strong and first but after receiving our starters, the service staff abandoned us and didnt returm to remove our plates, offer another round of drinks, dessert or coffee. As an out of towner, Id give this place a 2nd chance if im ever back in Ottawa again.
We loved this place. Atmosphere and all!!! The food is never a disappointment
Stood at the front desk being ignored by 3 members of staff for two minutes.
After asking if we could move tables a waitress said she’d get back to me but never did.
Food was not hot when it arrived.
Felt the pita breads for the dip were purposefully made small to try and force you to pay for more. When we didn’t order more the waitress almost looked disappointed.
Food itself was just okay. But that could have been because it was not hot when it arrived
Excellent in every way. I highly recommend it. Server at the bar where I sat was very personable.
I found the place very tight and Too noisy , service very slow but food is good .
The service was exceptional as always and good to die for!!!
Food and device were exceptional. Every member of the staff knew it was a special birthday dinner and made a point of mentioning it. They had a hand signed card waiting on the table, and had a specially decorated dessert. Great meal!
This restaurant keeps amazing me with outstanding service, and serves food with amazing flavours. There was a birthday card for me upon my arrival. I'm already planning my next visit. Thank you!!
This was my second time at Fairouz, and I was blown away. The food was fantastic, delicious and well-portioned, and the service was impeccable. Will definitely go back, and would recommend Fairouz to friends without reservation!
Food was good, not the wow I was expecting from reading the menu, service meh, waitress was too loud, music doesn’t fit the middle eastern ambiance, and prices are way to high for what is being offered specially when you have to order your sides for your main course which is already at $70 and a bowl of rice or cauliflower is $13. This comes to a point of prétention...
This was our first time dining at Fairouz and it won’t be our last. We ordered the set menu. It was amazing! It was a selection of a variety of different taste starting with a wonderful selection of appetizers to steak and chicken main dishes ending with a nice assortment of desserts. Highly recommended!
Noise is a problem. Suggest installing some noise cancellation paneling or something.
We had a fantastic time. Food and service was great!
Thank you for the amazing service, great food and the birthday card!
We had such a lovely time last Saturday. Fairouz offered us a delicious meal with flavour profiles and cooking techniques that are not a part of our every day. Our server was attentive. The different courses were well paced. We felt sated but not stuffed when we left. I've been to Fairouz with a group of girlfriends and with my partner. Both visits have fostered conviviality and enjoyment--exactly what I hope for in a night out. (I wish I'd brought my wrap. I was a bit cold by the window.)
Absolutely fabulous and would highly recommend to all my friends. Found the lighting a bit low for reading menus. Wonderful service and waiters.
Our server was great but I gave a 3 for the bartender.
He didn’t acknowledge us until we were getting up to be brought to our table. Even if he was busy, he should’ve at least said hello or be right with you..
Perfect in all ways. Great food and service. Great value.
Great food. Awesome cocktails. Lovely atmosphere.
Lovely evening overall. Food here is phenomenal, and service was excellent. It was my second time here and I'll definitely be back.
Very disappointed. We love Lebanese cuisine which this did not resemble. Even with a limited menu, which might give one hope that each dish would be especially good, both the appetizers the main were a big disappointment. Even your average schwarma or gyro shack would outshine this over-hyped & over-priced excuse for Lebanese. Stick to Beavertails!
Very creative use of flavor, colour, and texture. Very impressive.
The food, wine and service were all tremendous. The sommelier has added some interesting choices to the wine list which just added to our experience. Fairouz has become one of the top spots in the city.
Absolutely, your restaurant is the best, thanks Tony!
Beautifully presented food with very interesting ingredient combinations. I really enjoyed and want to try the other things on their menu.
