Like the food in general, but the portion need to be a little bit more to justify the price.
Setting and location was fantastic. $26 for a cheese board with barely a thumbs worth of cheese each was slightly disappointing. Lamb was incredible.
The ultimate special occasion restaurant in Vancouver. Wine list second to none, cocktails outstanding, service impeccable. Love this place!
Very tasty and a nice outside covered patio... It'd be nice during the fall with a heater out there.
Our server (man) was not very helpful and a bit rude to us.
Very enjoyable, super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food was very flavorful and the cauliflower is definetely a must.
The menu was unique and the food was delicious!
The menu is quite limited these days, as are the portions. I know it must be a struggle, but they won't survive as it is now, even though what food they have is high quality.
This was our first time dining here and had heard some great things about the restaurant. We went with the tasting menu, I will say that each and every dish was executed well, however, there was no flow between the dishes...one dish I'm eating kimchi, then a Tandoori like dish...the flavours were all over the place. What maybe would have helped all of the competing flavours was if they had changed out our plates.
I will say, the hangar steak was AMAZING!!! So tender and tasty.
The server knew answers to every question we had, and she made fantastic recommendations
The menu was legit, definitely on the pricey side but a really lovely experience
Great place to experience locally inspired cuisine. We enjoyed a great evening there.
The appetizers were amazing as usual. Tonight the pork was dry and tough... unexpected. The fish is as amazingly fresh but the combination tonight of king cod, chickpea mash and tamarind broth didn’t really do it for us. Individually the flavours and execution were great, but together.... hmmmmm...
amazing, as always - fresh, ambiance, clean food - our fav spot in Vancouver
Amazing food! Great service! I have been here 3 times and each time the food was unique and sourced locally as available but equally delicious each time. I would highly recommend! The chef is a genius.
They have done a good job of social distancing all the tables and they have 3 tables outside. A safe place to eat during COVID!
We love sitting on the little patio and sampling new ideas from this inventive kitchen. We can cook good meals at home - we come here for surprises and new combinations. This is a wonderful chef forward place. Love the wine list too! Thank you. Keep cool!
The food was creative, and fresh as fresh can be. The cocktails were also fresh and tasty. Street parking was easy. Will definitely return.
Left hungry- very small portions, no covid precautions - mask etc worn by server. Food was tasty and unique- miss old menu style and substance.
We had a lovely meal in a cozy atmosphere. The food and service were outstanding, as was the wine recommendation. We felt comfortable with the COVID-19 safety precautions followed by the restaurant. We will be back again soon!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Vancouver. The food, service, and ambiance never lets me down.
Great place, great food. I love that the menu changes, so it's a lovely surprise each time. Great cocktails and wine!
Fresh & innovative flavors
Great wine & cocktail options
Farm to table at its best. The chef always surprises with new flavour combinations and it is always fresh fresh fresh. I've been here many times and this outing I enjoyed the morel dish, and especially the shiso wrapped sushi rice. Always inventive, and always a good glass of wine ready to be paired with. It's cozy, so make a reservation.
Small space, small portions, very few menu options. The food is good and very nice service but something just does not add up.
Really delicious varieties of local food. Definitely will go back!
We had the sourdough with date and black vinegar butter, pork croquettes, kimchi puff, and the grilled spot prawns.
Thanks Marissa and the whole team for creating a safe environment, we had the best experience.
Fabulous in every way!
Restaurant was nice and everything was overall solid.
Overall a pleasant experience. One criticism would be that our dishes arrived too quickly in succession, not allowing sufficient time to enjoy each and giving us a sense of being rushed through our meal. We loved the variety of seasonal, fresh, local dishes on the menu, particularly the choices in plant-based offerings.
Honestly, this was one of the best food experiences I have had in ages and I am also a regular to Farmers Apprentice. The food they cook is satisfying in curiosity and experimentation, the January cabbage was absolutely divine as was every other dish. I only wish the Japanese gin martini I so love their Grapes and Soda next door could be served at Farmer's, but it just meant we started there first. Amazing place is Farmer's...
Lovely combination of flavours and textures in all the courses
Good service good food but small portions and pricey
The food is something to look forward to. There was an amazing use of truffles. Everything well worth it.
I liked the feel of this place, and wanted to love the food. But some of it was underwhelming. The potato dumpling with duck confit sounded so promising, but just didn't deliver much flavour. Same with the toasted faro salad. The January king cabbage was surprisingly yummy though. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. Service was well-timed and friendly.
Great food, great service, great location, great cocktails!
We enjoy the casual atmosphere and the well seasoned and prepared fresh food in season and the bread too
I love a restaurant that allows reservations for brunch! The omelette was delicious, perfectly prepared and the coffee was from Elysian which was great.
Very small portion for $35 main course
Tables were less that 12” apart. Another couple seated right beside us despite the restaurant being half empty. Had every word of their conversation right in our ears. Very limited selection of entrees. Food was tasty, but over-priced for quantity/quality. Presentation was poor for pork entree. Just a plate of brown. Won’t be returning.
