I've been coming to Farmer's Apprentice for a few years now. It's a great place for special occasions or a casual dinner. The food is always creative and well executed. Their menu is very seasonal, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We always order the family style tasting menu and they've never disappointed. They're happy to accomodate various dietary restrictions and allergies while still delivering a great culinary experience The atmosphere is homey and casual with a lot of cool art and books, as well as ingredients in various stages of aging and drying. Service is always kind, prompt and attentive. Each person that works there is a joy to talk to. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Fantastic restaurant, great attention to detail and the most interesting and innovative use of local and fresh seasonal ingredients. Our go to place for any special occasions, and the next door Grapes and Soda has excellent cocktails.

It was delightful, start to finish: starters, drinks, main meal, and dessert. Exactly what you would expect from a Michelin recommended restaurant. The service was wonderful. The staff were pleasant, and the food was absolutely amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Where to begin? Food is delicious, no question. But minus drinks, $140 for NO MEAT and 7 dishes, one being one slice of bread. If the servings are small, let your table know so they have enough food and don't have to keep ordering more. Of course we all left hungry. And the service was SOO slow and it wasn’t busy. I just think it all adds up to something I won’t do again or recommend. I guess their rent is cheap or they might have closed already. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Probably one of the best meals we've ever had! Each and every dish was exquisite, we couldn't decide which one we liked best. The portions were such that we could enjoy the food without eating way too much. We'll be back again.

Food was amazing as usual but was not impressed with the service or ambiance this time around. It wasn’t even that hot in Vancouver yesterday but I guess the open kitchen made the dining room so hot. The only fan in the dining room was fixed on one table and we were dying of heat. Our main waitress was not very friendly and seemed upset when we didn’t want to stay for dessert. Disappointed as the last time I visited with my husband we had the best experience with the most amazing dessert.

I brought 2 vegetarian friends to the restaurant and we could not have been more delighted or impressed with the wide range of vegetarian options. The dishes were all very carefully prepared with unusual pairings of spices that were subtle and delicious. The sourdough bread with herb and truffle butter is not to be missed. The stand out for us was the charred snap peas dish as well as a surprisingly delicious dessert of macerated cherries and cherry pit (yup!) ice cream. The server was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and steered us to an excellent Italian wine. All in all an A+ meal.

Simply put one of the best meals I can remember having. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff, perfectly cooked, creative and perfectly balanced use of spices and herbs. The lamb shank was without a doubt the best lamb dish I have ever eaten. A simple and friendly bistro on the outside, a taste explosion on the inside. I was astonished. Go go go.
