"Even in Vancouver, where tacos have suddenly become the new sushi, Fayuca is not like any other Mexican restaurant." –Alexandra Gill, Globe & Mail
"Possibly the most interesting restaurant to land in Yaletown in the last decade." –Andrew Morrison, Scout Magazine
"It’s not Mexican food. But I felt it was Mexican enough to tweet out, ‘Best Mexican food in town.’" –Mia Stainsby, Vancouver Sun
The chef and staff did an amazing job with all the dishes, well seasoned and fantastic! Ok my friend's cauliflower is a bit burnt for her taste but she still enjoy it.
The services were fantastic! My water glass was never empty, and that is a good sign of services!
Went for dine-out with a friend - the food was outstanding, we left full and highly satisfied, the service was impeccable, fast and attentive, and the space is cozy and beautifully crafted.
We had a chance to visit Fayuca during the dine out special. Very energetic place and the dining room was quite lively. Food was very well prepared and at reasonable prices.
The dining room was quite busy (in a lively sort of way)...certainly not a quiet place and volume in the room can be loud enough to make it difficult for a conversation -- not a bad thing, just the spirit of the restaurant.
Went here for Dine out Vancouver. Some of the meals came out differently then I would have expected based on pictures I've seen. Overall the food was decent, I wasn't overly impressed though. Worth a try but I doubt I will go back.
I live in Seattle and I saw an add for Dine Out Vancouver and thought it would be a great way to celebrate my brother's birthday and him getting his Canadian permanent residency papers. We sat for a little while at the bar, drank a bit of wine and enjoyed the scene and then music. We then moved to the lovely heated patio for our supper. It was a clear night, perfect for eating outside! The waitstaff were super friendly and attentive. The Dine Out menu was scrumptious. We enjoyed everything!
Went for brunch. Our food was delicious and beautifully presented by a happy attentive server. Will definitely go back for dinner!
Dine out Vancouver! Was fantastic
I'd certainly go again. Food was outstanding and as advertised -- Northwest Mexican with a BC twist. Service was fine but could use some upgrading -- it would have been nice to do a little bit more explaining of the items on the menu, particularly since some are a bit unusual.
Wine features heavily on the minimal intervention side. I am fairly knowledgeable about this style of wine, and I think it accompanies the cuisine well, but my dining comapnions were not. It would have been nice to have been given a bit more discussion / explanation about the wines on the list.
Great food. We ordered 2 appetizers and 1 main course to share. Duck breast was awesome. The grilled cactus is also tasty. Cocktail is a little bit overpriced but considering the location, the price is acceptable.
Had a wonderful time here. There were 5 of us and we shared 7 dishes. However, nothing was too filling and so we were a bit still hungry afterwards.
Everything was delicious, I highly recommend the cactus, it was incredible, and the drink “ jugo de la selva”, we truly loved it.
First time at this restaurant and the experience was amazing that we are already thinking on next time visit. Food was delicious
Was here for the New Year's Eve special menu. Found the service and ambiance excellent but the food was sub-par. Portions were poorly planned, we couldn't finish or even start the second half of the plates. Vegetarian dishes were excellent, but the meat options were very heavy and greasy. Very expensive for the food value and quality.
Awesome food, different from your typical Mexican which is a nice change
Fayuca is top notch innovative food. If you’re a fan of Mexican or Pacific Northwest food, it’s worth a try.
Fayuca is the best restaurant in Yaletown hands down! It's unique, delicious, interesting, welcoming and fun! We loved every dish we had and the cocktails were very nice too! An absolutely beautiful restaurant staffed by warm lovely folks. Will return again for sure.
If you love Fayuca for dinner, check them out for brunch — such a refreshing twist on the classics, bright fun inspiring dishes it was hard to decide which to pick.
Great spot, a must try.
They care about their food and the only "next level" Mexican food in the city that integrates our PNW foods into the menu with honest regard to the flavor and natural taste of the ingredients.
Best tortillas in the city hands down.
Great high end Mexican brunch, eggs were a little over cooked but flavors were amazing. Could have used a little better service for as slow as they were.
Great menu that gets changes from time to time/ Not your normal mexican food. I would definitely recommend trying new things. Tuna tartar and he Scallops ceviche was my favourites.
Was pleasantly surprised trying new things I wasn't sure I was going to like. tables for two are a bit small - especially for a tasting menu - we were moving things around to fit in plates and drinks.
Our server was so good tonight. I don’t know her name but it’s hard to find service that good these days. Very impressive. The food was wonderful all around. Great flavours and unique to Vancouver. Drinks are overpriced for the size of the cocktails. They are tasty, but small with lots of ice. The super loud music at 9pm was really unfortunate. It was like that another time I was there. It’s still a restaurant and you still want to be able to talk. Will be back for the food, but not on a night with super loud music.
Expensive, Very small plate of food. To be honest, afterwards I wished we didn't go here... I was starving after and spent $60. And I'm a very petite girl..
Went for Sunday with recommendation of a friend. Found out later that she had never actually been there for brunch, only dinner....
Service was great but other than that a completely bland experience. Neither my self or my date finished our meals. Where was the Mexican spiciness? Where was the freshness?? Brunch is supposed to be a very simple meal a this was complete disappointment?
Stick with dinner which Fayuca is known for would be my recommendation.
Definitely won’t be back anytime soon...
We got there and the restaurant was closed. They didn’t answer our calls, no notice. And their social media accounts didn’t indicate it was closed.
The food was tasty but as a vegetarian I was a little disappointed: I got a huge mound of rice and 2 pieces of broccoli. I would have been VERY HAPPY with a mound of broccoli and a little rice. Also, an order of tortillas is only 2, whereas everywhere else in the WORLD serves 3 per order.
Highly recommend the cactus dish and the beef tongue. They were absolutely amazing.
Reliably delicious every time.
While the flavours were okay, the dishes weren’t worth the menu price. There was no way the pasta was a share plate, considering it was barely enough for one person. The octopus and crispy pork belly flavours were okay, but the fluid in the bowl made the pork belly non-crispy. Added essentially a deep fried shell to the gaucamole dish, and for $5, there was no meat and it came to $18 for a dollop of guacamole. I will say the tortillas and the fried tortillas were really really good.
Great food, wonderful ambiance
Always enjoy this restaurant, nice ambiance, GREAT margaritas! Cauliflower, Tuna Ceviche and Cactus are must haves.
Brunch is outstanding!!!! A must try - Carnitas Benny with hand made corn sopes delicious!! , Chilaquiles are tasty and filling, Corn pancakes OMG! full of flavour, mousturie and must be paired with a hot chocolate champurrado and you will be on heaven, Birria will wake you up spicy broth that will make crave a cold beer at 11am in a Sunday, Amazing. I went to Fayuca with my Family and share several dishes we all were very happy with our meals Flavours were delightful. Ambience was nice live music moderate noise - Good taste for music. Great place for everyone looking for unique Brunch in Vancouver
Great food and great drinks and you can actually have a conversation!!
We came early so it was very quiet. Server was casual but good. Food came fast. Michelada was great- we were still in happy hour so got 3 plates and two drinks for $35 all in. Food is super fresh and flavourful. Definitely come back when I have more time.
Food was great as always. The service was also good. I found it really loud. The music choice was good but too loud. As the evening progressed the music got louder. The music should always be in the background.
Top Noise level in this survey is considered energetic but it is actually annoying not energetic. I would not recommend this restaurant for a company of more than 2-3 people because I can not see how someone would be able to carry on a intelligent conversation. Hope this is taken seriously.
Four of us dined at dinner. We sampled six dishes. The salmon tostadas and halloumi dishes were very good. The seafood soup and pork belly dishes were good. The pasta dish with wild boar was too salty. Service was good. Patio looked delightful.
Fayuca did a great job on food, ambiance and feel!
The Service was great. I did enjoy the food but found it extremely expensive. While the menu was very creative, the food was not as good as the description made it out to be.
Over all a decent experience. I was hoping for more.
Unique, delicious Mexican cuisine. Reasonable prices. Not too noisy.
Share all the plates! Guacamole is awesome, as is cauliflower and grilled cactus. Gin cocktails are excellent, too!
Been here a few times and always loved the food unfortunately this time wasn’t up to expectations. Served raw flank steak and the service seemed slow. Maybe an off night.
