Feast Cafe Bistro
This is where our name comes from and is what inspires us, and our menu.
First time checking Feast out and it was a really nice experience from the food to the service. Only observation is that it was quite cool in the restaurant (we were sitting close to the door, however the air in the room was cold). Won’t stop me from returning though :)
Very disappointing. We asked what was the best thing on the menu and we ordered it, the salad was saggy, the bread for the burger was cold and chewy. The bannock was the worst we ever had, it felt that it was frozen and reheated, but it didn’t reheat evenly, some parts were still cold.
We will not go back.
My with and I saw the chef & owner on a cooking competition show on TV, where she was one of the judges. We were excited to hear about the restaurant and love to support local talent. We were not disappointed, and neither were our friends that we brought along. The 4 of us go out to eat at a restaurants once a month and enjoy trying new locations and new cuisine.
Loved it, loved it!!
Service was very good, our waiter was engaging and played along with our humour, the food was served very quickly and tasted great.
We will be back.
Fantastic presentation of all of our bison dinners...lasagna, 4 sets of ribs and a burger. The burger reportedly was nothing special to write home about but the rest of us were all ecstatic with out choices tastes and plating.
Tried the Feast for the first time, nice place and the food was fine, unfortunately however there was a large booking and our server pretty well ignored us - we were not offered dessert or drink refills - we had planned on trying some of the different types of bannock but did not get the opportunity.
Good service from start to finish and we had the bison burgers for our meal. They were cooked properly, not overdone which is a mistake I have made cooking bison. Look forward to our next visit.
Very good service. Great food, although the slow cooked bison was a bit on the dry side.
Everything was excellent. Food, service, ambiance. It’s my favorite restaurant in Winnipeg.
Food was very good, interesting menu. I had the tacos on tortillas as I have a gluten I tolerance, thought there would be more, but till satisfying. Hubby had bison burger and really enjoyed it. Fries were just bagged skinny fries. With this type of food I absolutely expected home made.
The food at Feast Cafe was wonderful and the staff are very accommodating and friendly. Great atmosphere as well.
Entire Smith Family of eight thoroughly enjoyed their evening of celebration and great food!
New to Winnipeg, we were recommended to check Feast out by a friend. So glad we did. We made reservations. Attended to right away by the server who diligently came to check on us regularly through the night. Really liked the decor - especially of the large scale photos above the bar of the landscape and some icons of the people of that landscape.
Both of us ordered the Bannock Bison burger - bison being the exception to our absence from beef - my partner got the Feast house salad as a side and I got the poutine. Ordered two local Half Pint beers. The server was attentive to a nut allergy we had as his wife had the same.
The food came quickly and was delicious. The bannock is a great fit for the bison with a slight sweetness. The burger was really tasty as was the Feast House salad. Really enjoyed the saskatoon dressing. My poutine really hit the spot on the cold night. It's just great comfort food. The server was charming and great to chat with.
Looking forward to coming back to try the bannock pizza and other dishes.
The Feast Cafe Bistro is a quaint little place with excellent, home made food and great service. We have been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food has always been delicious! large servings and fabulous deep fried bannock with Saskatoon jam. Yum!!
Great service and lots of menu options, will have to go back another time to try more of them.
Spicy Caesar with Bacon garnish was top notch.
First time very good experience will be back! The food was delicious service was great and price was good.
Farewell dinner for friends.
One of the best places for lunch in the city! Food is amazing - unique, tasty and fantastic portions. The staff do a great job despite the place being packed.
Overall we want to support Feast and will come back. However our table was on of he window side and it was very cold. We had to put our coats on our shoulders. The soup was tasty but way too much salt. M6 friends chicken and cranberry sandwich was tasty but didn't like the fact that the chicken seemed to be processed. Once a server came things went fairly quickly. Server was helpful and friendly. We will be back. The automatic door didn't work. Step to get in should have a little ramp.
I have recommended Feast to friends.
Our waiter/server was awesome.
My mom liked him as he spoke Cree to her.
The only complaint was the butter for pancakes was super hard🙂
We received amazing and efficient service; it was very welcoming and anticipating. Indigenous inspired menu featuring local food. We could not find the wild rice in our Feast Salad, though. Conveniently located to the WECC, I highly recommend for a pre-show dinner. The only drawback to the venue is the draft from the beautiful windows.
Dinner dishes were excellent & quite healthy ( butternut squash ravioli with maple chicken, butternut squash pizza, bison dinner). The apple pie pastry seemed a bit over baked (had a nearly burned flavour) and was very cold with no offer of warming the pie or adding a scoop of ice cream. The mixed berry cheesecake was very good.
The restaurant was nearly full with only one server. This made it difficult to give every table the level of service often expected.
The atmosphere is cozy and friendly. The food was excellent. Our waiter was super friendly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The food was marvellous. We felt and tested a true Canadian culture and food, the people who work here are very friendly and honest as well.
Good menu selection with unique bison Manitoba dishes. Good portion sizes at reasonable prices. Will be back.
I was only in town for three days but I ate at Feast two night! Bison ‘tipi’ taco one night and bison burger the second night. Burgers should always be made with bannock for the bun. Delicious!
In the past, the experience at Feast was always good. However this time, it took an hour and a half to get our food and the soup was cool as were the fries and gravy. It was also very noisy and cold. We will try again as usually the experience has been better.
Feast didn’t have record of the open table reservation, but the staff was very helpful in getting us a table. Great atmosphere. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. The pizza was a bit dry and over cooked, but the other items our party ordered were exceptional. Each time we’ve been to Feast we’ve been happy with the experience. When we travel to Winnipeg from Minnesota to visit kids at university, we make it a point to visit Feast. Great place!
I really enjoyed dining at the Feast Cafe and will return.
Food was fresh and tasty!
Although we had no room left we still had dessert! Well worth it ❤️
We love The Feast and will highly recommend it to everyone we know! The food is delicious and fresh and beautiful! Chef Jim usually comes out and says hello and asks how you enjoyed everything. So friendly and such a talent in the kitchen! This is a relatively new find for us. Just came for the first time a couple months ago and have been back twice since. Everything we have tried has been fantastic, such high quality and well prepared for great prices. Astonishing how good the prices are actually given the quality of the meals!
Excellent value, good and service. Casual and friendly and different than any other menu in town. Highly recommend.
This was my first time at Feast Cafe Bistro and it was amazing ! The service was wonderful, the food was amazing, and the ambiance was perfect ! I highly recommend this place.
Great place to grab a bite before an event at WECC! Lots of good comfort food on the menu, with gluten allergy awareness!
Great food; they were super busy with catering so service was slow, but the chef came out and apologized and got things moving. Really good experience
Overall a great restaurant! We will definitely be going again.
Service was quick and very friendly. Food was hot and delicious. Had the The Gatherer Taco and the Butternut Squash Bannock Pizza. A great menu with a few delicious vegan options available as well. Prices are very reasonable. Will absolutely be back!
The food was fine. It wasn’t outstanding. My poutine was soggy and the bannock roll for my burger seemed a bit hard in some places. I don’t know if that is how the texture is meant to be. The strawberry rhubarb pie was outstanding though. There was a large party next to my table and they were getting the lion’s share of the attention. In fact someone - it seemed like the owner - was taking pictures and stood right next to me and leaned over my table without even saying anything or excusing herself. That was off-putting. I did have high expectations for this restaurant based on other reviews, but I didn’t find it exceptional.
I love Feast. The chef visited our table, gave Bill some instruction on how to best cook bison and a source. Overall, our party really enjoyed the food, the decor is lovely, and bonus: we can actually hear each other talking! Great evening, great value.
Didn’t need a knife to cut my bison. All the flavours worked. The Vegetarian actually had too many options. Our waiter was pro as well
I had the In house salad with the bannock. It was excellent!! Will go back again and would like to try breakfast next time. I would highly recommend for anyone who loves supporting our local business and high quality ingredients. The service was amazing as well!!!
