I gave an overall of 3 stars only because the portions were very small. Food was delicious though.
Usually have great service, but this time our food was brought out to us cold more than once. Waters were never filled up and we were so thirsty. Waiter only came by a couple of times. We got better service from the manager.
We had Saturday morning brunch out in the deck. Absolutely delicious. Our waiter was great, his support team wasn’t quite as on top of it. Took a long time to get drinks out and missed an add-on item (that he recommended) on an entree. Overall a wonderful experience, great food, beautiful atmosphere. Will definitely go back.
We've been here several times and enjoy the fun ambiance. But the service is often lacking. This time we checked in at the hostess stand early and agreed to wait in the bar. The hostess forgot about us and then was irritated when we check back with her after waiting 45 mins in the bar. The waiter left abruptly after we ordered our first course and didn't realize we were planning to order more courses. No offer for more drinks and the food was slow to arrive. We regretted not just staying at the bar and eating there as the bartenders were friendly and attentive.
Beautiful space, but food was bad. Beef carpaccio tasted like canned tomatoes, roasted chicken was the size of my fist. Super disappointing to waste a meal in Chicago on this place.
We were late vs reservation hour and the lady was not really nice. Even seems like she reported my reservation as no show. Our waitress was very friendly, food is excellent, ambiance perfect for our occasion (friend’s get together). They messed up with our order in the kitchen, our waitress fixed this very quickly and efficient. Would go back!

It is too low on couches and your shoulder is nearly at table height!
Avoid that seating and everything else will be amazing.
great place to sit out on terrace. food was great. we just arrived for a girls weekend in Chicago and this was a fun place for our first night in Chi-town

We enjoyed the best evening of our summer at Fig & Olive! Spectacular meal, attentive service and the most enjoyable seating. We were celebrating a friend's move to Chicago. What a way to welcome her to the city! Loved it!!!
Birthday dinner with family. Attentive service with wonderful recommendations. Food was fresh and delicious with interesting flavors. Very pleasant atmosphere, warm and inviting. Will definitely visit again!
My son and I fell in love with this place. We ate here 5 times over a two week period. The bruchettas are addictive and their bread and oil/balsamics (namesake) are yummy. The 3rd floor deck is nice and the scenic bar display is interestingly colorful.
Always had good service, great food and nice cocktails when we came. Recommended.
Wonderful place to relax and enjoy great food and cocktails. We loved that you could either share a plate or some of the guys wanted a meal. Best of both worlds for couples going out for dinner. The food was perfect.
We had this restaurant recommended to us by friends while we were in a Chicago because hey heard it was a hot restaurant. The atomoshere was amazing and we were really excited to eat the food. Our server greeted us, but then took a long time to come back and take our order. We both ordered drinks and those took a long time. We order 6 of the crostini and those were amazing. My friend and I both ordered the Halibut. We both felt it was very small and not very hot. We also ordered asparagus and mashed potatoes but they came 15 mins after our meal. By the time they came we were both done with our Halibut. During those 15 minutes our server never checked back. When she finally did we informed her and she apologized and asked if we wanted desert. She took the cold sides and brought us a desert menu. We were not expecting anything but thought they were going to buy us desert for the inconvenience. When we got our bill the sides had been taken off and we were charged for the desert. This wouldn’t have been a big deal, but our server never communicated any of this to us. Unfortunately we left not feeling very excited about returning to this restaurant.
The flavors, from the crostini through the entree to the dessert, were fresh. The portions weren’t too big, the service was solid and the mood unrushed.
Crostini even though they are sold as the signature dish were mediocre at best. Gazpacho was flavorless and lacked body. It seems the have never tasted a good Spanish gazpacho served at 4 euros anywhere in Spain. Octopuss Carpaccio was ok but Lamb was overcooked and too small. Service decayed as the restaurant got packed. Do not waste your money unless yo like fancy places.

I’ve been here before and had a great experience overall, but this most recent was a total dud. The host at time of arrival looked like she was in a bad mood (later found out that she put us as a no show on open table). The service was so slow. I think 15-20 min passed before our server came to greet us. It took so long to get our drinks, appetizer, and main dish. The drinks were really weak and average. The appetizer was maybe like 1.5 inches of an octopus tentacle sliced into paper thin pieces. The main dishes were dry. I ordered the short rib and it was the worst I’ve ever had. Super dry and tough. Every time I’ve ordered short rib, it’s been tender and would fall apart. The one at fig was just tough and I had trouble cutting it with a knife.
Longest time I have ever had to get sit although I had a reservation! It was not nice because we had an special occasion and wanted to enjoy our night :(
The food was delicious and the drinks were great too. Loved the ambiance and the music.

This was our first visit to Fig & Olive and we will definitely return. Maggie, our waitress, was a complete delight, from her attentiveness to her entree suggestions. Bar service was slow when we arrived but that is being overly critical.
My first visit! Now my favorite restaurant in Chicago. Loved it all including our waitress who was divine!
We went for a date in the evening and it was much darker than we expected, with other diners using cellphones to read the menu, which was somewhat distracting. We ordered 3 crostini to start but one was incorrect, and it contained nuts so we had it replaced, but it took a long time to catch the server's attention. The tenderloin one was supposed to have a citrus dressing but it was undetectable - it was like eating a bland cold cut (we even made an Arby's joke). When the bill came we noticed we had been charged for the replacement crostini, and it took a good 15 minutes to be corrected. In the end the whole crostini was comped, but our time was more valuable as we sat there at the end of a date without drinks. In comparison to the bland starter, the filet was over-seasoned and the parmesan crust too rich, but otherwise good quality. After finishing our cocktails with our starter, we were never given the opportunity to order wine with our main course, so we only had one drink each the whole time we were there. I don't necessarily blame the server as she appeared to be very professional but over-worked. Overall, not a great experience, and doubly disappointing as I've had an excellent time at the Fig & Olive in NYC.
This was the second time I’ve gone to Fig&Olive, and it’s a really outstanding place! It did rain this past time, and the rain cover didn’t really help much, but we were moved to an inside spot with an equally great view! Food is great, a little pricy but that’s to be expected. They have great drink options too!

The octopus carpaccio was amazing. We also shared the paella, and then ordered some crostini. Everything was amazing, very good service too.
This is a regular stop when we are in Chicago (New Orleanians). The food is imaginative and interesting.
Usually we get good service. Our Waiter seemed to forget about us. We pointed it out and the service did improve. Maybe they could use some extra staffing.
The place is beautiful and food was very good, too bad our service was terrible!! Our waiter seemed to be less than eager to please. He forgot about drinks we ordered, was very inattentive most of the time. It was the first time for all of our party except for one, and he didn’t explain anything about the menu or offer the fig and olive tasting, we had to ask for it.

This was our third time at fig & olive. Unfortunately we had a bad dining experience:
We ordered two appetizers and two meals, but everything came at once. The staff removed the entrees and promised to cook them again. We ordered drinks after and though our wine glasses arrived promptly it took around 15 minutes for the wine to arrive.
When our entrees arrived the salmon was overcooked to the point that it was too dry to eat. The server brough us some prosecco to apologize.
That said, the final bill with tip was nearly $100 per person. If we hadn't had a good experience prior this review would be 1 star.
All of the food we tried was excellent and the olive oil tasting was a really great little extra.

Excellent server who gave us great suggestions. Loved the aromas and the food of four different people were all outstanding. Cannot wait to return!
The evening started nice enough but steadily went down hill. Service was extremely slow. The food was good but nothing special. The waitress never asked what base we wanted for the crostini and once the order was taken we didn’t see her again until we were done eating. Everything was nicely presented. Would have liked another round of drinks but based on how long it took for the first round to arrive I didn’t want to wait till dessert for them to arrive. We were there a little over two hours and had several courses and were able to have a nice visit with our guests as the noise level is reasonable even with the “DJ” playing music (that was kind of weird but maybe it is different later at night)
