This is not a restaurant it should be marketed as a bar. The food was cold and the service was slow. Does not belong in Yorkville and cannot compete with anything else on the street. I would rather go across the street and for the same money.
We went at a rather early time so we ended up having the restaurant to ourselves basically, so it was incredibly intimate and we were just able to enjoy our time together. We really loved the atmosphere and cocktails a lot. The waitress was so sweet, I wish I could remember her name and give her a shout out because she was an actual angel! The food was good, however when I tell people about my experience I tend to talk about the environment and drinks more than the food. Overall, we appreciated our entire time there.
Food was fantastic and service was amazing!
Thoroughly enjoyed! Especially our cocktails. Great first experience!
Such a great little spot! Super fun and delicious! Exquisite drinks and mouthwatering food.. couldnt ask for more
Only for the novelty. Drink or two. Didn’t care for the food options as a sit down dinner
My first visit and it was a Wonderful experience will definitely visit again.
The pictures made this place look like more of a fun environment than it actually was.
The service was slow which was surprising considering there was only two tables dining *myself included*
The food selection feels rather pompous and defintely does not deliver what it tries to achieve in both the taste and presentation.
Overall, my experience was not worthwhile and I would not recommend this place.
We got there around 7:30 and were the first there, but it started filling up around 8. The food was amazing! We shared the cauliflower trio and it was definitely the highlight. I hope I can come back soon!
Interesting restaurant concept but execution falls short of expectations
My expectations were slightly disappointed. From the pictures on the website I thought the experience would have been more exciting, the service was great and the food was good. It was great to go once to see and I would recommend it.
In general, the food was very good and everything we ordered was unique and delicious. Most memorable were the poke bites, the gnocchi, the frites(!!!j, and the Poison Ivy cocktail - very fun!. The servers were all very pleasant and some of the decor was really great. Most of the tables need refinishing along with the banquet seating, but the chairs all seemed new. The place tried to be moody but parts need updating or painting so not to be so dreary. A fun place with good food that just needs a little TLC.
Recommend a friend? Depends on the friend. It's a bit oversold as a comic place. A mural and themed drinks doesn't really do it. Food was way too expensive for a family of 4 but we knew that going in so we ate ahead of time and just had desserts. We found it while looking for "fun" places to eat in Toronto, but it didn't live up to the promise. That said, wait staff was very nice.
Our server Ariel was awesome, knowledgeable, pleasant, fun and made us all feel welcome. I'm a huge geek so the ambiance was great. The food. My god.. easily the best we ate all weekend. Homemade pasta was the best I'd ever had I used to manage a restaurant. My only complaint was that the cocktails were really expensive. Over 20 bucks for one drink was kind of insane. They were tasty though, and really cool. Didn't take away from the experience. We loved it all. Highly recommended.
I've been here 4 times. It just gets better each time!
Figures has to be one of my favorite restaurants in Toronto!!! I took my boyfriend there for his birthday and the two of us could not have been happier!! From the incredible atmosphere, the giant Batman holding sparklers, to the mouth watering food, I was blown away!!
Restaurant’s theme is based on action figures, hence the name, but it felt like a let down as there weren’t much figures on displays as it is being touted (aside from the few items by the entrance). It would have been cooler to see more action figures to amped up the vibe. However, the lack of displays was easy to forget as the food was amazing. Every item on our plates were well seasoned and bursting with flavour. We ordered the salmon poke bites to start, steak frites and crispy skin salmon for entrees. We ate everything on our plates! Cocktails are on the pricey side though. Service was pretty good, they were very accommodating with simple requests. We’ll definitely come back for the food and service.
Staff and management went above and beyond for our event. Definitely will be coming back.
The restaurant was empty so our server was super attentive. The food was pretty good but the prices were way too high. The cocktails were interesting but also very pricy. The concept is really cool but it is a little dark for dining.
Loved it . Must visit. The food was so good and the host was very generous
Great atmosphere and design. Terrify service. However, the food was only okay considering the price. We had a good time overall but wouldn’t return.
We went for my husband’s birthday and were sadly disappointed by the food and experience overall. There was a lively atmosphere and the server was attentive and helpful. The drinks were overpriced and the food was mediocre. Wouldn’t go back.
Great venue- hit the mark on comic/cartoon pop culture- in a fun, not childish way. As good as the decor was, the food was even better- totally unexpected. Had the Oxtail, prime rib burgers, several cocktails- all incredible. Really pricey, but worth it.
Drinks overpriced. Food was ok, nothing spectacular. Beverages were sticky. Given the price would likely not come back.
Great ambience with the comic book theme. It could have been taken further inside and during the meal. Creative drink and food menu with great taste and presentation.
Thought it would've been a geeky themed speakeasy. Turned to be a regular club who's cred was in themed high end cocktails.
Didn't have the food, so can't review that aspect.
Burger and Salmon was really good. Wish we got more fries. Funnel Cake dessert was delicious.
Went to Figures to celebrate a birthday. Food and drink were fun and delicious! The decor however was really disappointing after we walked through the front entrance. I was expecting a lot more interest/comic elements to be incorporated and a better ambiance. In my opinion they could do a lot more with the theme and invest in some cool installations and lighting.
The idea of a higher-end comic book themed restaurant seemed interesting but in practice it felt confusing. The prices demanded near-fine dining levels but the food was just okay at best and made some of my guests sick at worst. The decor probably was nice at some point but the table we were at was pretty worn down and felt a little cheap.
10/10 would go again! Food, service and experience were all 100!
Great place to grab a bunch of snacks and apps to share with some amazing cocktails. Great conversation starters all around. One of my most loved spots in the city!
The restaurant is quite small but hardly anyone was there so it was quite. The decor is funky but it’s quite dark inside, we had to read the menu with a flashlight. The menu is small and the food was good but not five star. The waitress was nice but interrupted us way too much.
Amazing! Some of the best food we’ve ever tried and the place itself was very unique and cool!
My friend really like the themed restaurant. Our server was great, he was very attentive and at the same time not annoying. He was pleasing to talk to and made us very comfortable dining there. Food wise the salmon may be a bit bland for my taste while the truffle pasta had good flavor. We ordered a mojito for me and it seemed like they put a generous amount of alcohol in it. Overall, experience was good and I would recommend it to others.
Went for my birthday! Awesome presentation of Birthday Dessert 👏👏🥳🥳🎉🎉
Incredible food, very good cocktails, cool atmosphere, good service. We were a group of 4 people and we will be back.
A little pricey though, which is fine but just be prepared to spend the money $$$$
Signature Cocktails are 17-21$ a piece.
2 of us on my bill, we got 5 signature cocktails, 2 mains (the burger and oxtail) 4 appetizers split with the other couple, and 3 desserts split with the other couple, our bill was 230$ without tip.
Truffle fries were AMAZING, appetizers were a little small, we had the pogos, the AW fried chicken, the cauliflower, and fries but VERY good & high quality.
I got the OXTAIL for my main, delicious, large portion, very filling and tasty. Highly recommend.
Desserts we got the donuts, the chocolate funnel cake, and the PB & J ice cream sandwich, all very good.
We will be back! Thanks for a great experience, good service and food food:)
I made a reservation for my birthday celebration at Figures. It can highly recommended to me but did not live up to the hype. Our server took down my order wrong and I corrected him as to what I wanted. When my main came it came out as the wrong order. He informed me that it would take 15 minutes to prepare the oxtail main I had ordered. Therefore I was not able to enjoy my meal with my friends. There was not even an offer to comp my meal or offer a complimentary dessert. We were also expecting the staff to come out with sparklers and some pomp and circumstance as I had indicated it was a birthday but they did not. My overall experience was lucklustre and very mediocre. The music was so loud my friends and I decided to not even talk anymore because we couldn’t hear one another. We paid our bill and immediately went to another place where we could enjoy one another’s company.
Service was atrocious. Had to beg for someone to greet us and take our order. You will be ignored on a Saturday night if you’re one of the four tables when you first walk in the restaurant (before you go up the stairs). Our “flaming” donkey Kong cocktail was served unlit and we had to convince the manager to go get a lighter to light it. Food was sub-par (in particular, the lazy bowl of guacamole served with three stale tortillas and the fowl-tasting vegan curry bowl). Will not be back.
Unfortunately, very much not worth the hype. While the theme is really awesome and the decor looks pretty cool, but the food was such a slap in the face. Very over priced, bland. Our wait staff couldn’t answer our basic questions about the menu.
Subpar food and mediocre service. Wasnt overly impressed.
Loved the service, the music was great, and the drinks were cool!
