Finn's Seafood, Chops and Cocktails
My husband & I had a disappointing evening at Finn's on Tuesday, Aug. 22nd, 2019. I am not sure if it was a shortage of wait staff or a problem in the kitchen. We arrived for a 7:00 reservation & were seated promptly. However after we placed our dinner order we waited quite a long time for our entree's with no bread or anything except our pre dinner drinks. My steak arrived, but it was several minutes before my server brought a steak knife as I struggled to cut into it with a bread & butter knife. It was excellent, however it was accompanied by "mashed potatoes" that tasted like instant potatoes & a straggly piece of broccoli. My Husband ordered sea food linguine which was very short on sea food which he indicated to the server. He offered us a dessert in lieu of this. I ordered a sorbet which was accompanied by no silverware. In the meantime, another server brought us a bread basket which we refused and was subsequently delivered to the proper table. I was finally offered a fork which the server himself realized that a spoon was in order. All in all, it was disappointing as I had booked Finn's from Ontario due to its excellent reviews. No, I would not go back.
Steak well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Seafood linguine fresh and full of flavour.
My friend had the burger and ordered with bacon. They forgot it and brought it over
I order the veggie curry bowl. It was rice with veggies, very little of the curry. The veggies were cooked perfectly as was the rice, but I was looking forward to the red curry flavour.
The portions were large, but for the price, it was good, leftovers.
After eating and paying, we noticed a mouse on the rock wall and called over a server. They contacted the manager who apologized for that.
Well done folks, excellent experience.
We had a wonderful evening, a beautiful meal and our server was awesome. We will definitely definitely
Our 20th Anniversary dinner. Great spot on the patio except they had no fuel for their propane deck heaters. Food was good along with the service.
We had a truly wonderful dinner here our first night in Victoria! The service and atmosphere was lovely and the food was amazing. We had the halibut and the steak, both fabulous dishes, and shared the delicious key lime pie in a mason jar for dessert. Highly recommend!!!
We enjoyed our meal and our server..the seating near the harbor was enjoyable.
The waitress was extremely helpful personal and attentive. The meal was just ok nothing mouth watering. The lobster was over cooked and the crab a tad undercooked. The waiter who showed me to my table wanted to stick me in a corner as I was by myself, and the restaurant was not busy so there were lots of tables available. The saving grace was the waitress, she truly was a delight
The food was great, the service was excellent and my margarita was awesome. Even when we were seated close to the speakers the servicer had no problem turning the music down.
This was an outstanding experience..from the outside patio overlooking the harbor.. to the exceptional prawns as an appetizer...halibut as entree...fabulous desserts...and superb martini! Our waiter Kevin was the best!! A truly memorable meal in Victoria.
We were there for an anniversary diner and it was terrific. The food and drinks were really tasty and the service was the best we have had in a long time. We will definitely be going back again.
We loved this restaurant. Great food, with options for the whole family and the staff were very friendly.
Little pricey but fabulous ambiance and the food is fantastic. Great employees who are very attentive and friendly. I have been twice now and will go again.
Chowder was delicious , good selection of wines. Service was good and timings were great.
We enjoyed the views from the outdoor patio. It was a cool evening but the overhead heaters and complementary blanket meant we could enjoy the views of Victoria Harbour. The seafood tacos were amazing. Our server was prompt and pleasant. We would definitely return to Finn’s and recommend it to friends and family.

Nice food (my mussels were perfectly cooked) , no problem parking even though Victoria was packed and a great location.
A hyped restaurant on Wharf street by inner harbor of Victoria.
If you are short and sit by windows, you will have to stand up a bit to see the harbor view because the seeable glass is at my chin unless you sit outdoor.
We specified for anniversary when we booked the table but no acknowledgement from the restaurant at all😏.
Fair execution of food; but for the price of seafood linguini - $28.00, one would expect to have fresh pastas but NO😐 & the sauce is quite salty😣.
When I asked for the Parmeggiano Raggiano cheese for my seafood linguini, the waitress said they only have Parmesan cheese! So that tells me this restaurant uses secondary quality of food as much as they can. The worst is that they even had the nerve to charge me $2.00 for the Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top of my linguini 😲😤😤.
See the bill attached.
Food was awesome. My boyfriend said the seafood chowder was one of the best things he’s ever out in his mouth and is not offended that I say the same thing. Seafood was fresh and service was great
We arrived in Victoria via a cruise ship returning from Alaska. We searched for a seafood place using the OT app and found Finn's. We were very happy we picked this eatery. The view was great, the food was delicious and the service was attentive.
Great experience. Enjoyed our seafood meals, flavorful, nicely prepared and plated. Good price point. The view of the harbor at sunset was beautiful and added alot to our dining experience. I would definitely recommend Finn’s to friends looking to visit Victoria.
Great food, great atmosphere. I would highly recommend.
We had the pleasure to have a wonderful seat with a direct view towards the harbour. Food was great, be it the seafood linguini, the tacos or the wild salmon. Service was also extremely nice. Even if the food is great, we recommend to have a seat with „a view“, which is the ultimate kicker.
Views from the deck of the harbor are nice. Server was helpful on menu choices and prompt.
The food was excellent, as was the service. We enjoyed dining in the atrium where we could enjoy the view without being chilly. We will definitely return the next time we are in Victoria.
We celebrated my dad’s birthday at Finn’s, we were greeted with warm welcome and birthday wishes. Emma, our server, was super attentive, provided us with excellent service throughout the whole meal. The food was fantastic, everything we had was delicious. They even gave my dad a birthday surprise, a cheesecake with a small sparkler as candle, it was super fun! We had a great time there!
Food was very good. Shrimp tacos, Halibut main dish And seafood linguine was excellent. Raspberry dessert with custard was excellent. Service was very slow. Marguerita was way watered down.... the worst..,. Couldn’t even drink it. Got a martini to replace it and it took 20 minutes. Wait staff was running like crazy but way understaffed. Our waitress was very pleasant but just so overwhelmed & overextended.
Make reservations this place is busy! We had an excellent meal food and service was great.
My husband had the seafood linguine Alfredo with extra garlic. Outstanding! The greeting & service was excellent. The martinis were a little too watery, but the wine recommended, a B.C chardonnay, suited our dishes perfectly. Overall it was a very enjoyable evening and we would for sure come back!
Pan-fried oysters were spectacular. Service was exceptional -- Lindsay and her assistant, Carlos, who like us was at Finn's for the first time. We both had a variety of seafood (duh!)...pasta and seafood, bowl with rice and seafood. They were excellent. Hope to visit again.
We were a little bit disappointed with Finns, the menu was somewhat limited and a little pricey. The crab cakes were mushy, although not without a bit of flavor. I had the seared Ahi which was cooked perfectly, but the accompanying items on the plate were so so, a chickpea paste which was not really good... all in all nothing I would recommend.
Thanks for a great anniversary dinner!
Appreciated the great service and food!
Wonderful view and excellent food. Just can't beat the location right on the water. We enjoyed our time there very much.
Good view of Inner harbor is best feature. Marginal food. Bad wine list. You pay a lot for the view. Inside is dark and dreary.
In a convenient location. We prebooked which I recommend if you can as it was popular. The menu had a good range of choices, the service was , fresh & tasty food. We only wanted a main course which was not a problem. Good atmosphere with views from the patio tables.
Absolutely delicious food. The fresh oysters were the best we had on our entire trip. Friendly service and nice views.
Lovely evening at Finn's we ate in the glass terrace which was good as it was very windy outside that evening. Menu has something for everyone we all enjoyed our meals. Service was excellent and we would recommend.
It was ok. Not able to look out the windows much as there was lots of bird droppings. Waitress said it was hard to keep up with it. It didn't look like there was even an attempt for quite some time. Had crab cakes and some green tasteless aioli. Crab cakes not much flavor and mushy. Garlic pita again under seasoned. Not exactly reasons you could send them back for so just generally did not meet my expectations from the other reviews.
