   Have enjoyed Guelph Fionn’s in the past but this time not so much. Guinness chicken bites appetizer dish was yummy. Fish tacos were good. Guinness beef was mostly gravy, sadly lacking in a actual beef. Caesar salad was bland. There were very few customers mid afternoon and the waitress told us she’d get back to us after she finished visiting with her friends which took five minutes. Her service throughout was poor but another employee, possibly the manager, stepped up and actually served our mains.

   I haven't been to this restaurant in years and chose it as I had been gifted an ultimate dining card and this was listed as a participant (until March 31st). The food was as expected, the restaurant looked a bit run down but the main reason for the low rating was the gift cards didn't work and I was left no choice but to pay for the meal with my own credit card. We tried the cards/pins several times and I was just told 'oh well'. They should have taken the cards from me and worked with ultimate dining for the compensation. I won't be going back again, the food wasn't that good to get me back. When I pay my credit card bill in a few weeks it's just going to make me curse this place again...

   Although our waitress tried to be helpful- they were unable to provide three of the beers we ordered from the menu. Coors Light for goodness sake! When the food arrived it was only just warm. We will not be returning.

   Food was really good. Staff were super nice. Took a long time for our food to come out though like an hour. and it took 40 minutes for our bill to come when we asked for it. Overall was nice tho.

   I had reserved a table and called again the same day to confirm we could have the table requested. When we arrived none were available where we wanted to be. Our waitress Adele was excellent. Service prompt Most food was good altho fries not cooked completely. On the whole it was enjoyable

   Food was good, but the service was very poor. The kitchen was very slow (over 1-hour for food to arrive, even appetizers) and our server forgot most of our drink orders. The dessert we ordered never arrived.

    My family and I attended for my birthday dinner. The restaurant was practically empty and yet we had to wait some time for service. After our waitress arrived we ordered appetizers and drinks, and the drinks were not brought for 15 minutes, and when they were brought, one was missing (we were only a party of 6). We had no cutlery, and waited an additional 20 minutes before anyone returned to offer us a refill. Again, the refills were not all brought properly. Then we had to wait again for our appetizers (we had already placed our dinner order by now). When the appetizers arrived we still had no cutlery or plates for eating/sharing, and despite asking multiple staff (including our waitress), we never received them. The empty used glasses from our crust drinks were not removed from the table, and it was obvious there was an infestation of fruit flies in the restaurant that were very bothersome to our meal. When our food finally arrived (over an hour after ordering), the food was cold and each meal arrived 5-10 minutes apart, so that one of our party was only being served 30 minutes after others had received there already cold meals (and begun eating out of necessity). Some of the order was also incorrect. It was very unfortunate ate that we had such an unpleasant dining experience. Although our waitress was apologetic she did not offer any compensation or options to address the many shortcomings. We had even advised in advance that we were coming for a birthday and there was absolutely no special treatment or offers. We will NEVER eat at Fiona McCools again, there are many other restaurants out there and in our experience, none have ever been as bad in almost every regard as this one.

    great casual dining. the appetizers taste great and good for sharing. lots of tables, bar area and patio. cheerful and efficient service. my favourites are the mini yorkies and shepherds pie. really good calamari too! definite favourite place to eat, drink and be merry.

    The food and service were very good. Lots of choices as far as sitting in the shade or sun. We moved from under the eaves as the music was too loud for our taste.

    For a business-type lunch a quieter venue was needed and Fionn MacCool's fit the bill. Other than a wobbly table leg, the meal and atmosphere was perfect.

    Fionn's has a limited menu and on this day had to settle for my 4th choice of draft beer because the first 3 were sold out (this was 2 days after St. Patrick's day - the local University crowd drained the place i guess). Well, they also ate out the kitchen as well since i was later told that the steak i ordered was also not available. So.. how about a burger then? That they had - yay! This location really needs a facelift (even before Covid).

    Table was sticky/dirty, our glasses and personal items stuck to it. Server spent minimal time at our table and was short with answers - it appeared she didn't care to be there. Bathroom was disgustingly filthy. We've been several times before but this made us upset and couldn't wait to leave.

    The ambience of this place is great. The staff are very friendly and Covid protocols were well followed. Best Caesar salad I've ever eaten so I'm sure the rest of the food is as well. I will definitely return when things ease up.
