Fionn MacCool's - London South
Good food, live music and service......................................👍
We got to the restaurant at about 5:20pm and had reservations for another show at 7:30pm which we told the waitress, the appetizer came fairly quickly but the main course didn't come until about 6:30pm, we were told the dessert would only be a few minutes but instead it took about 20 mins and didn't arrive until about 7:10pm (frozen cheesecake should have been easy).
Food was very good, staff was friendly and informative. The dessert took too long to be delivered after the coffee was served. Also a cup of coffee was too expensive -- and no refills were given.
Clare the waitress rocked even on a very busy nite.
We had so much fun great food reasonably priced friendly staff can’t wait to go again
Great service, staff friendly and very helpful.
My husband loved the guineas steak and mushroom pie.
I was not a fan of the veggie burger. I felt it was too mushy and did not like the texture.
Overall a great place! We will return.
Friendly service without any hesitation answering questions.
Free shepherds pie with CAA membership what an amazing deal!
We had made a reservation ,showed up on time but for some reason we got an email saying that we did not show for our reservation, not sure if it’s going to be worth making reservations in the future then . We were seated immediately and our waitress came and took our drink orders when she came back we were able to place our menu order as we knew what we wanted and it came relatively quick considering how busy it was getting . We both thought that the chowder had changed somewhat , not much in the way of the fish in the one we got mostly celery and mushrooms, we get the chowder every time we go so this was a little disappointing for us , the shepherds pie was very good, my fish and chips also a little disappointing this time it may have been because of the busyness of the restaurant .
Always on point ! From drinks to dessert ;)
Loved the warm and friendly atmosphere. Best burger in town. The bacon wrapped chicken dish was a hit at our table too. Looking to another visit on a night when there is live entertainment.
Went for anniversary dinner with friends. She has to have gluten free due to allergies. She liked the selection available. Everyone had a great time and the food was excellent in tastes. The service was wonderful. No complaints. Everyone was full when we left. Money's worth for sure. Thank you.
Hearty meals - live music, lots of choices - better than average pub fare !
This was my 4th visit and the food was just as good as the first time.
Loved it great food and atmosphere
Our server was excellent. The noise level would make in difficult to have a quiet conversation.
The waitress wasn't attentive and seemed to just want to speed us through our meal.
Salmon was amazing! The fish and chips was terrific too.
Wasn't impressed to hear the specials from another waitress telling her table. Our waiter didn't tell us anything. Thought it was over priced for the value. The price of a coffee is ridiculous !
The food here is fantastic. It is a little noisy so it is hard to have a conversation.
Food was great, loved the Cauliflower Curry and the Souther Fish Fry! Our server was excellent and friendly! Service was spot on
Service was prompt and friendly. Veggie pot pie was delicious and the person who ordered the curried cauliflower gave the dish rave reviews! It smelled divine too.
I’ve always enjoyed pubs, ever since i visited the UK 30 years ago. Fiona McCools is a nice, consistent pub chain. The pies are tasty and consistent. Beer is always good and the live music here is first class.
Not impressed with food quality, quite mediocre. Out of 10 kids in our group, nobody ate even half of their meals. Adults didn't complain but didn't boast about their meals either. Good beer selection. Service rather slow. Prices on higher end. Ambiance was nice but I wouldn't go back.
Server recommended fish and chips. Said fish not greasy and she liked it. The fish was greasy and battered not done. French fries were undercooked. The place looks great from the outside and inside but the food I don’t recommend.
Great reuben sandwich piled high with corned beef and dressed nicely with kraut and peppers. Also had steak and mushroom pie. Amazing! Good beer selection and awesome service.
Met friends here for lunch. We were seated quickly. Waiter was pleasant and friendly. Most of our group ordered the Fish and Chips. All agreed it was great. We will return.
Food and service was excellent. Would certainly recommend for a casual night out.
Have been many times and enjoy it each time. They didn’t have our reservation however which was frustrating as we had a tight timeline after trying to coordinate our schedules.
Food was great took a bit to get to us but was Mother’s Day so to be expected.
I was meeting with a friend after several months of cancellations to get together. I ended up being sick just before our meeting but was not going to cancel and rebook yet another time. In the end i met her at your restaurant as planned. Since i couldn't eat anything my friend also felt uncomfortable eating. She asked me if i wanted to go somewhere quiet (without food around) to talk and catch up but i was too ill to actually even move so we ended up staying. The waiter was attentive the whole time and completely understood our situation. We emptied our coin purses to leave him a small tip for his efforts and he wanted to decline accepting the coins but we insisted anyway. He ended up coming back with a tea for me to help me feel better. What a thoughtful gesture on his part, especially considering that we literally brought no business into your restaurant. However, because of that experience, i will continue to patronize FM's and continue to recommend it to others (as i have in the past).
My only concern here is Debit machines need to be updated to Tap/Touch.
We were celebrating a friend’s birthday, and planned to make Fionn MacCools the spot because our favourite band - Schreeched Inn - was playing. Terrific atmosphere, great menu, loved the beer, and the band was CRAZY GOOD! Love this place. A definite two thumbs-up!
we really enjoyed the live music with Screeched In! we will be back to see them again!
The hostess and wait staff were amazing and accommodating as our group of 4 became 7!
I had the baked cod dish - it was flavourful with out masking or overpowering the delicate fish - perfect
The food is always great!
I was very happy with this restaurant. It was my first time and plan to go again in the next few weeks.
Great food. Great service. And Fast getting our meal. All around good time.
Service was great! Waitress was extremely attentive and food came out fast. Food was nothing special, just ok. Loved the band, fun place to go and have a few pints.
We like to eat here to make our day special. The Irish atmosphere is fun and the food is very good. Our waitress, Maraih, was behind the bar and saw to all our needs. She has a vibrant personality and the discussion and service added much to our evening out. Thank You.
Tried out the restaurant as a new place to go with live entertainment. Read reviews so knew what to expect. Ambience was quite nice. Excellent seating. Was seated right away. We were greeted at the table immediately and when it was taking more than a minute for our server to get back to us another server came to take our drink order. OUr server was an excellent server and knew the menu well and was not afraid to make recommendations. After dinner was served she was back to see if we needed anything and then again to see how happy we were with the taste of the food. The food was very good and we had generous servings. For an app we had the bread and the calamari. Take it or leave it, neither off putting or delicious, I am a fan of crispy fried rings not the thick style they offered. We had fish and chips, fish tacos, shepherds pie, baked cod. Everything was very tasty and we would all have it again. For desert we tried the white chocolate cheesecake with strawberry coulis, which was delicious, and the bread pudding with caramel sauce. Was not fond of the style of cooking of the bread pudding by cubing it and deep frying then caramel in a container to dip it in. Didn't finish it. All in all we really enjoyed the music, very traditional Irish and we would like to make this a regular restaurant.
